Don't knock the bucket man. His "drumming" may leave a lot to be desired but he's an enthusiastic supporter and a character, albeit an oddball. With so many moaners in the code, it makes a pleasant change.

I expect to hear extra loud drumming/banging plus see extra fireworks next game at Kiwitea to commemorate Ivan's international retirement.

Can't, then even the supporters would be accused of being professional instead of amateur.

I know a few people that had Multis they thought were locked after TeeDubs came back and Canterbury won.

Was it really?
With the players they had unavailable it was always on the cards.

I think what he's saying JV is that with so many important City players unavailable, Bale, Browne, De Vries, that it was possible Waitakere could nick a result, which they did. That's all.

Permalink Permalink

Why Tangi Day special: ACFC v Southern Utd. Can we nick a result? Otherwise ...

Any team is capable of beating any other team on their day - hence Southern winning at Waitakere. It's one of the great facts of football. Just look at Stoke and Man U.

Strange. On the asbprem website he is referred to as ACFC's new import. No mention of him being here as a student, on holiday or any other circumstances where he just happened to show up at Kiwitea St looking for a game.

Will be interesting to see how he goes.

"Group B matches another Tahitian club, AS Dragon, in a pool alongside Amicale of Vanuatu, defending champions Auckland City FC and one of the two host clubs Nadi."

Predictions??

3 wins?

Permalink Permalink

Should have kept the O-League home and away rather than staging it in Fiji, also not a brilliant draw to be honest Dragon caused us problems last season and Nadi at home will be quite difficult, Amicale are a tough side as well. However I am confident enough to think we can take three wins.

Will be tough to get 3 wins up there.
Waitakere have got a very favourable draw!! Even for a team that has regularly lost in the Islands

possibility of ACFC meeting Waitakere in the semi's if Waitakere top their group and ACFC come into the semi's as best placed 2nd team?

Would probably want to avoid that i am guessing.

Anyone know if the semi's are actually seeded or just luck of the draw?

It will be a shame if the new import pushes Rory Turner back to the bench. Yeah right.

If it's Tade who makes way then City have lost the plot, if they haven't already.

I think the new guy will work with Tade as a dual strike force. We need another finisher as Tade's injury absence on Sunday showed.

The O League games in Fiji will be tough because of the heat, local supporters and refs. However I'm convinced ACFC will overcome it as they have done in the past. Think Waitakere may struggle. Hopefully the O League final will be in Auckland.

Heard a rumour Waitakere are struggling to be able to finance sending a team to Fiji. It costs money to compete in the O League, despite Fifa's contribution. Might end up only having ACFC fly the NZ flag there.

Maybe Auckland can help them out? Gives nz more of a chance of reaching the CWC and saving the ASBP from being doomed.
