I see the TW website is back. The fixture dates differ in some instances to those listed on the NZFC site, generally disagreeing on whether the odd fixture is a Saturday or Sunday. Which site should I believe?

In both mass and capabilities.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

What is going on at TW? 3 games, no goals and no points. Someone please enlighten me!

Was just wondering that. Terrible start to the season. 3 games at home to kick off the season. And no goals and no points. I too am in disbelief !

At least the wimmin are winning.

Whats up with Team Wellington? They were the best team in the NZFC to watch last year but seem to be struggling bigtime this season. 3 home games, 3 loses and no goals. What formation are they playing? Obviosuly lacking any creative spark and leaking goals badly at the back. Perhaps they have under estimated the value of guys like Howe, Whalen, Jenkins who seem to be missing from the lineup this year. All guys who are proven at NZFC level and have played since its inception. I cant believe guys like Trent Watson, Fifi and Roddy Brown are starting, they have never really done anything of note have they? Hawkes Bay next weekend up in Napier they desperately need a win otherwise its going to be a long season

I hope it is not the Trent Watson curse:

2009 Wgtn. Utd. - Relegated

Interesting game. I thought that the defense of Otago was very dogged. The young keeper didn't look overly inspiring but he did pull off a couple of saves.

Sad sight seeing the former professional Draper struggle at this level and being reduced to nothing - can see why the Phoenix let him go. You could have put 3 Michael Fifi's out there and they never would have scored. Once they get Corrales back, I can see a flood of goals because they did dominate the possession. Its just a conversion thing.

Why wasn't Bannatyne sent on the PK?

Because he didn't deny an obvious goal scoring opportunity. The ball had moved away already and Bannatyne went into the forward. I thought the forward played it well and pushed the ball on knowing that Bannatyne had already committed to the challenge so realised that doing so would win the penalty.

Obvious goal scoring? Rounding the keeper is probably about as obvious as it gets don't you think?

Not necessariliy. In this case, the play was out to the left of the box (as we looked at it) and the forward had pushed the ball on already. If Bannatyne had somehow managed to pull out of the challenge, it would have been a goal kick.

Well, may be it is the "preseason grand statement from Stu that is still haunting the team...."This is the best team/players that TW have assembled in the last few years..."
What a joke...bringing all these (6 of them..) journeymen he thought that he was going to 'set the world on fire".... they still have one more chance to get their season back on track....in their next game..if they loose that as well YES it is going to be a rather long season...which is not what Wellington needs right now...after al,l we do see WN as the "home of football"
May be he should have recruited more local players....

They were waiting for me to move back to N-town.  Everything will be fine from now on.

What's happened to Karl Whalen. Bring him back and the goals will stop going in. He's quality.

Be a big night on the bus on the way home. No doubt they all had money on themselves.

Good result.

According to this Hawke's Bay subbed their keeper in the 69th and then let in a goal immediately after.

No comment on the reason for the substitution but, oh noes.

Given the amount of matching fixing (allegedly) goes on around the world does anyone else think that its not a great idea to allow gambling on an "amateur" league?

We all know some of the HB guys love a gamble... Any unlikely boat buyers in Napier this week?

Let's hope they keep the momentum going this weekend against Waitakere... would be great to see the lads win at home next weekend (& to a decent crowd).

Got the result, eventually.  Always looked the better team.  (Even with 10 men.)

Good thing, too.  I dragged myself to the match and might not have found the strength to get home if the boys had lost.

I am now no longer a TeeDubs virgin. Good win 2 -1 with 10 men and i quite enjoyed the brutality going into some of the tackles.

Will definatly be returning.
