only 1 match won from 9 played in the playoffs for HBU

Rosario Central, the All Whites, Waitakere United and the mighty Phoenix! speaker of engrish

HBU never really looked like scoring , but were well organised and it took some individual brilliance for Citys goal.

Unfortunately their front two , Halpin particularly , ran out of legs in the second half so their prospects of pinching a goal were limited.

Looking at HBU's squad they over achieved and credit must go to Angell - kept half an eye on him at the game and he's certainly vocal and active on the sideline.

have to be happy with where they have finished, with the squad they had by the end of the season after all there "star" imports left. Brett back some of the younger local guys to fill the gaps and they did themselves justice when given the chance. I would like to know what he good get his team doing if he had a similar budget to some of the bigger franchise.

I thought they were very poor yesterday especially in the first half just could string 2 passes together. Sending off was a soft one and didn't help.

Didn't HBU ban players from talking to the local paper. Or did I make that up.

Think for one game maybe after the Anendra used his google search and copy paste skills to "write" about Brett's troubles with drink from 20 years ago. I think Anendrea lost accreditation to report on SSpremiership after that.

There was another reporter that was doing the coverage earlier in the season so not sure where he has gone, his work actually made sense as well...

doesn't this happen every season - rumours of HB United struggling for players but then Angell manages to get what he's got into the top 4. Might be an idiot on the sideline (we used to call guys like him a character) but is a pretty good coach. would expect HBU to be top 4 again this season

yeah you are correct in saying he has to start fresh each season but this season might be his toughest..As a fan for many years i just want to see him have the same team for a few years. Its very hard to keep up with all the new players that come and go.Why dont players want to come back? The results have been very good

Iv never seen HBU put up on there facebook page before asking players to go and trial, whicb makes me this they might be struggling this early.Hopefully i am wrong.

Dont get me wrong, he is a great coach.Seems to be able to get the best out of the players and always seems to have a game plan

i thought they normally held a trial for interested local players each season, its not the first time this has happened.

That's a smart signing IMO with Liddicoat leaving too. He is a two-time winning captain.
