True, guess the Auckland first teams are somewhat harder to crack and he is still young.

Yes. I'm not even sure if that's the correct spelling tbh but it is different and fairly unique

Yes

I thought it was more like "Cheyenne". But I could be wrong.

No reports from yesterday's game? or are they on a different thread?

i saw the first half and it wasn't so much about a clinical HBU but rather a dire Waitak. They were 2nd to every ball in their defensive third & resorted to speculators on attack.

Looks like a small problem for HBU if the newspaper is correct

http://www.nzherald.co.nz/hawkes-bay-today/news/ar...

According to the paper, 10 of the players were born outside NZ.   How many have NZ passports is not revealed although it seems that Waitakere alleges that there aren't enough.

would be harsh ruling against the likes of Willox and Liddicoat,. Dent was brought up in Hawkes Bay. but i guess rules are rule

If it turns out there are enough NZ passports there, it's going to look a bit iffy from Waitak - you can't tell by looking who has an NZ Passport or not, and if you try you can get it badly wrong. Whoops.

Do Hawke's Bay not have an away kit this season? I hate when this shark happens; an embarrassment to the league.

An absolute joke. Ref shouldn't have even allowed it.

it wasn't quite the shambles of Phoenix vs Victory last season but it was very hard to pick up today.

and yes not a great look for the league - hopefully NZF look into this

(FYI not sure the referee has the say, i think kits were pre-approved by NZF - which is silly if true)

According to the Preview Angus Kilkolly is back from Lithuania, would be a strong addition to the squad.

I blame Chris Kerr who apparently broke down earlier in the game

watched this game and from where we were sitting it was never a penalty and the ref did the right thing in the end.Hawkes Bay can blame whoever they like but the truth is Waitakere should of won this game by at least 4 but don't have anyone who can finish. As for Cory Chetleburgh there's more to a game than running all over the park and not giving the ball away.HBUs big problem is the clown on the side line what a plonker and whats with the stupid looking cap.To keep Chetleburgh  happy give him  his penalty and give Waitak 4 fair result.Chris Kerr the ref looked over weight  from where we were sitting.

Not a huge surprise there. Angells team always blame someone else when they lose although it must be refreshing for Milicichs lot not to throw one away. I am just fascinated that Angell has a job considering the stories that he is such a massive cock and am amazed he gets the results he does with the parts he has. I guess HBU are ok with having a dickhead in charge if he is getting results.
Chris Kerr has always been over weight so thats not exactly a revelation but does seem to do better than some on that league. I watched some guy a couple of weeks ago I think it was at Suburbs (the only description I can give is he was Indian cause I don't know who he was) and he was rank awful.

Maybe the "plonker" is actually a pretty good coach! For a "dickhead" he seems to get good results with what he has to work with.

I think the hat was to probably keep the sun out of his eyes...

I absolutely love watching him "coach" when they play at English Park. Sometimes it's more entertaining than the football!

From what I have heard and observed he is a talented coach, demands lots from his players and sometimes oversteps from the touchline.  But I have observed in several games he has tweaked things throughout the game or at halftime with pretty good results.  I think Hawkes Bay are tough to play against and he is squeezing every inch he can out of that squad.

Yip, no way on earth you could call that an intentional handball, so the correct outcome - although can understand Angell's frustration when it's overturned.

from highlights HBU should have had 4 goals of there own, not including the pen shout

I'm a little baffled you guys can be so certain of the call from that coverage/angle - or are you just saying from what you can see it looks like the right call?

Has to be intentional and he is less than 1m away from the ball.

Get up the Bay! Great resolve to come back against Suburbs yesterday, some brilliant passing for the 6th goal and a well desevred win in stifling heat

I've had a little bit to do with him in previous years and watched him coaching HBU last year. He is an ok guy, runs a good training and the players seemed to like/respect him. He does perform like a pork chop on the sidelien though but so do many passionate coaches.

Looks like he has done it again - shown the stands at Wellington today

http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/football/domestic/886...

I have no idea what Brett is like as a Coach as I don't understand the finer points and make no secret of it.   He is a hell of a nice guy to talk to away from the ground, but gets really carried away on game day.   Will give Paula something to do I guess.

By the way, pretty bloody poor when I can get the result from the newspaper before I can find it on NZF site.   Again, I repeat, that everything is different but nothing changes.

he was spotted multiple times handing notes to substitutes warming up who then handed it to the bench. One instance was caught on video. He was running the team from the side of the pitch even after getting sent off.
