Green Island boys vs Old Men from Invercargill...
WELL DONE OLD BOYS
Yes the weather was a leveller for the Old Boys side.. they won nearly every tackle.. eight men behind the ball and played it simple.
GI lacked the players to change the dry weather football they were playing, to suit the conditions. Nice looking ineffective football...
When it is fine and the track is hard, GI play nice attractive football..
Here's an idea.. whack the ball in early, pick up scraps or as it comes back out put it back in... whats the point of taking three passes to do the same thing when the opposition has lined up on the edge of the box.
It is a hard road for GI they have 11 similiar players, not sure how a coach can improve the team.

I think G I need a decent coach before they start changing the team , Robinson just not up to SPL coaching , old school theories dont cut it in the SPL and never will , I was talking to a player the other day who 's been at the club for a few years now and there is definatly a sense of reservation about there coach , not liked by quite a few in the squad.

The risk of an ankle sprain is 3-5x higher if you have had a previous sprian. FIFA recommends strapping or bracing and akle for 6 months to a year post injury. It is always advisable to have your injuries checked by a physiotherapist.

Malcom ( Ill coach anywhere for cash ) Fleming wouldnt make a difference at Newcastle , the whole setup at Green Island doesnt make way for good footy , poorly selected squad , to many guys who are just average , they need a couple of quality players who they can base there game around , thats just my veiw of course

I think it is more of a player problem, there seems to be a lack of maturity on the field. Wrong options being taken, lack of variety and unable to change tactics.
Hopefully they can take some constructive critiscm and improve. They can play nice football and have excellent movement.
A quality give me the ball midfielder would be an addition.

too many young kids with no leadership, GI can't attract good senior players to the club because they over push the youth policy in my opinion. It appears average youth players get to play first team football because they have come throught the clubs ranks, not because they are actually good enough. Atherton is there best player by a long shot, would score even more goals at a decent club, even his goals are not enough to help GI get out of the cellar....

Moving Brand (Current Otago POTY) to sweeper when chasing the game 3-0 down in the second half, is tactically genius for starters.
So terry didnt sit on the 18 yeard boxs whilethe back four were at half way and Brndo didnt run around like a headless horse all day??surely something was up..
