Should be a good battle I reckon. 2 tough games for us in a row. Gotta love winter football! The only pity in this league is no relegation - that usually kicks things up a notch too.
Southern Football (incl Southern United) (Part 2)
Morgan Day must be due for his annual mid-season trainings with Caversham? or like last year, try a cheeky transfer to bitter rivals Green Island after the transfer window has closed
Cavvy 3-0, too much firepower for that Mos defence

3-0 would be a good result, Cavvy have hit top form, i'll go for 5-0
Absolutely atrocious game by us in all honesty. We just didn't have it from the get go. Taking nothing away from Caversham- they were clinical and well drilled and punished our mistake... but we inflated the score by being poor. I'll put my hand up for most of the goals as I was well off yesterday - horribly poor form. But what can ya do, either roll over and give up or we battle back and win some pride and see what happens. That's football. We have a massive game this weekend.. and a couple of really tough fixtures coming up. But like I said - it's football... anything can happen. Blew my goals conceded right up though....fudge.
Football South is a joke. Mosgiel should organise a friendly with the milk cup today so their two suspended players from the weekend can play against Tech
Yeah it's an odd one isn't it. The Milk Cup Roslyn game was Football South sanctioned though, not just some ad hoc friendly. But it their game had the status it appears to have in terms of a player serving a suspension, then what about cards dished out in games against Milk Cup - do they not count?
I think we've known for a while that those running the game down here (there is the odd exception) don't exactly know what they're doing.
Neither TK or Keegan should be suspended this weekend anyway considering it's a completely different competition.

And if you get a red card in a cup game you shouldn't be suspended for league games??? yea right.
Its a fairly simple rule; you get a red card and you miss the next game, regardless of whether or not its a league or cup game. That rule has nothing to do with Football South.
However, I don't think that games vs Milk Cup should count for suspensions as they don't count towards league points. Since Mosgiel don't have games at the stadium then you'd think if they played the Milk Cup team it would follow the same lines. Would spark a bit of controversy / debate
On a side note, great article in the ODT today, most insightful article about a football south game in a long time.
From NZF
- A Player’s suspension from one Competition does not preclude a non playing participation in another Competition. For example a Player under suspension in one Competition would not, unless determined as a consequence of the relevant Disciplinary Committee or Appeals Committee decision, be precluded from coaching, refereeing or managing another team in another Competition.
Operative word there JW is 'non-playing' participation. This doesn't cover the Ebanda circumstance. The rules regarding this situation are stipulated below. In my opinion this is another example of a lack of understanding and ultimately poor judgement from Football South:
- As a general rule, every match suspension (of Players and other persons) is served in the
Competition in which it was imposed, except:
- 19.1.1 where the next match is a cup competition match, the suspension will be served in that cup competition match; or
- 19.1.2 where the match suspension is imposed in a cup competition match, the suspension will be served in the next Competition match.
I got sent to the showers early by my Div 4 coach at training last night for a poor challenge during a practice game - I'm just wondering whether this counts as a competitive match and if so am I suspended for Saturday? Your considered thought and judgement is appreciated Football South.
Don't worry my coach has just told me we're going to have another inter-squad game to finish training on Thursday night so as long as I sit that out I'll be good to go for Saturday. Hopefully the grounds aren't out tomorrow ?

Suspensions can/need be served the next season if a red card or a yellow card [equaling 5 YCs for the season in any sanctioned comp, which would result in a 1 match stand down or 2 games for a total of 8 YCs in a season] was obtained in the final game for that player.
Mosgiel's season done and dusted on both fronts in the next fortnight. Caversham will make a mockery of them this weekend and then we'll end the cup run next week. #Pretenders
This ^. Congrats Tech
Pretty happy to be so accurate with my predictions. Sounds like everything is going pear shaped both on and off the pitch out on the plains, watch this space...

You had enough Wrighty?
Did something happen in the game? Thats a big call from the Mogiel players. What happened ZG? I've heard that Mosgiel has had to hire Judda Flaws full time to go through and delete a majority of their Facebook and Yellowfever posts from the previous two rounds

Certainly on point with the pear shaped Saturday afternoons but anything more than that is a crock.
As for the Tech club rooms lacking a bit of Mosgiel banter, it's not the greatest look and I'm not sure why most of the lads decided against it.
