im seeing all this credit going towards doble, ofcourse he does deserve rewards with what hes doing. But alot of credit thats going un noticed was that of Malc fleming who has brought alot of talent to the club and the team wouldnt be up the top of the table without the hard work he put in getting players to gi over the last few years. he also got the team well prepared for this year with preseason dating back to october.

Not taking anything away from Malcolm, he is a great coach and definitely contributed massively to where G.I are at the moment.

Tech 4 - 1 over braes

Any other scores in???

3-2 Cavey over Old Boys. Cavey were cruising 2nil up, both goals to Simon Ward. Old Boys scored 2 in about five minutes, 2-2. Bradley Scott tapped home at the back post to clinch it with about 15 to go.

I'm hearing Roslyn 3-2 over Queens Park aet.

Queens Park decided instead of playing at the nice turf, they would play in a pond. Hard to play good footy in that!

Roslyn will pump Northern, they have to be one of the worst SPL teams ever, can't believe they have won their two cup games (against two decent opponents)  Cavy Tech could go either way, so i'll toss a coin & go Cavy

I wouldn't write Northern off, I see Jason Anson scored on Monday, he is a quality player.

i usually rate your opinions Yeovil but you've lost the plot here, we will trash them & Anson would be third team at Ellis Park

Hope RW have plenty of money left after last weekend.

A trip to Nelson to play College won't come cheap.

Thats two picks made and one of double points for getting the next round draw correct.

Cavvy & Roslyn won't lose, these will be the teams that battle for the league from now on,  GI & Tech 3 & 4

We can agree to disagree.. At this stage RW havent quite gelled as a team , struggle to score and to get behind teams, can let in soft goals. Cavvy are not the same team as prioir years, ball movement is slower and movement off the ball lacks the Cavvy sharpness, they do seem to lack the attacking width.

We will find out this week re Cavvy/GI. The Queenstown pick was tongue in cheek..

Dino I have to agree that Cavy don't look as sharp as the last few years, but they know how to win and always come right at the end of the season. Roslyn has not clicked as are team yet, they have to find that killer instinct to put teams to bed.
I'm going for Cavy to beat GI by 3 goals, As for Roslyn would like Roslyn to win but guts tell me they will struggle and get beat again!!!

Dino, Roslyn have scored 20 goals in 8 games? hardly struggling to find the back of the net IMO, take away GI's result against Old Boys & most of the top four are pretty even (goals for)

Why take away GI's result against Old Boys??!! That's ludicrous pal. Top four aren't even, 2nd, 3rd and 4th are.

GI totally outplayed by the Cavy Train. How did Tech get on today??

Permalink Permalink

Cream rising to the top, as expected. Hard to see GI fighting back to the top.
I'd almost go as far as to call it a 3 horse race now, with Caversham slight favourites!

Students also falling away, and it will get even worse during the mid-year break!

Roslyn top of table now, when was the last time they cold say th

Swear you can hear yourself breathe in this forum atm. Not sure about the game at Tonga Dino but I can tell you there were some rather confusing refereeing decisions down south.

Ref just had some interesting interpretations on the rule book - nothing new really for down South though. Red was def a red however. Where is Anon and the lads?

Gone home and cried to their mommies boo hoo maybe.  But I like their banter.  Come back boys - tells us how it all went pear shaped.  Was it five flukes, a dodgy ref, a boggy Tonga, some Jacko genius, or not enough sleepy byes the night before?  Anyway the Horse are top of the pile now - and long may it stay that way.

Im here :D Don't really know what to say after the weekends match.

Will surface over the next few days but a "key" player has left G.I, looking for a new club. (not key in my opinion or many of the other boys, but he likes to think hes pretty special)

I'm really looking forward to the 2nd round, I think the boys can get up for it. We aren't in a slump or anything, and spirits are as high as always :) 34 for, and 13 against is fine with me after round 1, I just hope we can get back up to that number 1 spot, will be tough, I can't see Roslyn, Caversham, or Tech dropping many more points.

On a final note, I am pleased that we have home games against Tech, Roslyn, and Caversham to come!

Quality response Anon - nice humility, so good job son.  And this season is the best of what Football's about.  Four teams chasing the top spot and every game is something to fight hard for.
