Old Boys have a chance if the Aussie is playing

i'm lead to believe Roslyn played some ineligible players in last weeks fletcher cup game, can't play first teamers in "last 3 rounds"

Word I heard on this is that since their game vs Northern was canned and rescheduled for end of season, technically it was 4th last round, so good to play.

Seriously...
Sound wins for the Horse and, particularly, Cavy today - and some squeaky bum stuff from Tech but they got the 3 so good on them.  It's been a great season and is down to the wire.
And ooo...I'm all for promoting youth, and the young lads you suggest have talent but you can't play three of them at the back like that, defenders need experience in the National League and apart from Matty Joy those boys don't have it.  Here's the go:
Little
Connor Joy Fitzpatrick Prattley
Ryder Mepham De Costa Cunningham
Jackson Hancock
Beat that!  And yeah yeah yeah I also hear Connor, Fitzpatrick, Prattley, De Costa, Cunningham and Jackson might be in Oz or England or France or elsewhere.  But let's just see what transpires.

Jackson looked very very poor in the Chatham cup quarter. How did his trial with the nix go?

Why was he so very bad horse?  Was he AWOL, or bad technically, or poor in his decisions, or unfit?  Perhaps he was injured?  Or it was bad nerves with people watching maybe? He has such good quality - nice technique, high intensity and good vision usually.  I don't get it.

Nat, having played against him a few years ago (2008 comes to mind), I rated him very highly. Quick, strong, smart angled runs, can finish and has some genuine skill. I talked him up to fellow spectators pregame  in the chatham cup quarter and he made me look a bit of an idiot ! ( more so of an idiot than usual that is).

His touch was as if he had cement on his boots, he didn't get into great positions, was ok in the air but the ball tended to skew off his head. Looked a bit lost to be honest. His long throw as always was immense however! It was a shame as he is clearly a guy with real quality. Also it was a real chance for him to leave an impression on the football powers that be in Wellington, and sadly he didn't deliver.

Southern United should look at  the Tech keeper over little

Tom Jackson would be a great addition to Southern United but what is the likelihood of him playing? Just what Southern United need, a strong, fast, clinical striker that will take his chances more often than not. Predicting a good season from Jude Fitzpatrick this year, been hearing he is currently playing some good football.

Agree with Jackson, hopefully he stays down here but can't see it, Fitzpatrick won't start.

Does Gannon get a $450 appearance fee?
Jesse Wright vs Mike Fridge would be a nice watch

Yes $450 for turning up and another $450 if he wins

And yes that would be a another lip licking match up - wright by decision.

Good chat on this forum, It has provided me with a good hour of entertainment. Wish I had discovered it sooner.

Thought I'd add my 2 cents regarding the Southern United squad for the season based on the players in town at the moment (not sure if everyone is available).

Batty/Little

Connor - Joy - Fernando - Mansford

Mepham

Ryder - Cunningham

Jackson - Hancock - Coldicott

Will there be any high-profile casualties of the new regime?

With the player exodus at Waitakere, if Prattley likes their new boss, I'd say he'd get plenty of minutes up there.

Are they any new emblem or homepage for Southern United?

Because the old homepage isn´t updated since May (Change of name?).

Is Da Costa around? If so then he'd be a certain starter. Have the boys begun training at all? Would be good if they got a pre season together, as from what I understand, previously they have only had a few weeks together before the first game.

Will the likes of Rutter, Gunn & McCormick (GI), Dreyer & Higgins (Northern), Cameron & Watson (Roslyn), Lockhart, Milne & McLennan (Tech), Rae (Uni) get a look in for summer league, or atleast are they good enough?

Higgins ???? Is that some sort of sick joke , he's just an ok player in a shit team . Ya don't just have to pick out the best couple from each team just pick the best players and generally they will be all from Roslyn tech n cavvy .

I  was not saying all of those guys should be in the team, but if some of them would be? bearing in mind that the were not really there last season except a couple of fleeting performances from McCormick.

If we wanna do any decent in the national league we are gana have to go off shore, we just don't have enough local talent to have a competitive squad .

Caversham will put 5+ past GI as the Island have nothing to play for now, Roslyn 10+ Queenstown have no chance away from home, Tech struggling lately, so will just get past Old Boys who will be crap

I bet you're Matt Joy's triplet. If you idiots especially the tit from Timaru knew the rules there would be no problemo.

I think some of the refs and linesmen in the league genuinely qualify for a disability benefit.

Is it any wonder the refs are getting called names when they cannot do the job they are paid to. The inconsistency that is occurring is shocking. The linesmen have one job to do and when they can't manage that frustration occurs. In my opinion the best referees in this league are Richard, Jeff, and Kenny. Is there an official ranking system?
