4-2.  The Colonel, The Baron, and 2 to A-League quality corrales.

Fever scholarship contender James McPeake got the start in goal as well.

Would we even consider looking into him?

You would hope so.

He is as quick as anyone in the A-League but he can control a ball, and score goals which puts him up on many of the youngsters that the Fox commentators fap all over.  With two 'English' style forwards coming, Luis and Costa would give us two pacey finishers to complement them... and the likes of McKay, Murdocca and Pantelis prove that skilled smaller players can survive in the A-League.

There is a rumour floating around that he has offers from Asia though.

He would be an import spot?

He's been here longer than Daniel but I don't know if he has done the paperwork.

Even then we look like having two Brazilians and two Englishmen, but rumour (not sure I have seen it confirmed) says you are allowed 5 this coming season.

I spoke to someone within TDubs about Luis and their opinion is that he's certainly got the talent but they didn't think he'd make the grade at A-League level due to his attitude/approach to training.....

I could've been very drunk on the Molly's dancefloor at the time so this may be slightly wrong....

Luis needs to get on with playing as he tends to lose focus during the game. Too often in a game, he just whinges for no real reason, whether it be at team mates, oppostion or officials. Sort that out and he'd be worthy of a sniff

Ye of little faith (twice today) I firmly believe he'd step up.

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

How much is it going to cost to get into Teedubs ? (For an under 18)

Children with an adult are free, so find yourself a Fever Parent, hold his/her hand, and you'll get in for nothing.

Otherwise, theoretically at least, ten bucks.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Can someone please talk me through Big Jim's goal (before he has the chance to! )

good finish for TW. Pretty rough for 75min though. Howe and Pickering played well I thought. So too Bazza. He's claiming a touch on the third goal (Banners kick)

Corrales goal was class.

So have they decided on the venue for the Waikato match? It had been moved to Porirua but after the match on Sunday, they announced on the tannoy that it was yet to be decided. (The TW website has been useless this season and the NZFC site isn't much better.)

yes, but both teams kept playing balls to noone or hurrying passes when they had time

Thought Brian Little's goal was class. a team goal set up by a flick from the colonel, then a weave and a well timed pass from OK coralles.

they'll need to tighten up if they want to really challenge the JAfA's but very promising that they put Waikato to the sword when they were on their knees

Alright i've used up my cliche quota for today

good crowd too- 800?

I have to say that the YF scholarship winner Marco Rojas looked a very skillful player.

He'll need to bulk up a little bit though, too easily pushed off the ball at times.

+ 1, but he definately seemed worthy of the award. Corrales played so much better than last week, and Bryan Little played very nicely. Oska2009-03-01 18:39:03

Marco's got some decent acceleration alright. good attacking dribbler. So too was YF Freestyler Nik Robson on the other wing.

That's a top outcome for TW. Back in November it was touch and go whether they would even enter let alone be competitive. They did and were, so well done to the member clubs, mangement, the players and of course NZF for seeing sense and making the comp affordable. Just goes to show what can be done on the smell of an oily rag.

Bugger - they have scheduled the TW home leg on the Saturday. Why not play it on the Sunday like their regular season matches? Apart from anything else, it clashes with Homegrown. Last year, I saw quite a few of the lads from football at Homegrown including Peter Halstead. While I guess Peter will miss the concert this year, it will split the potential crowd especially with the later than normal kick-off time.

A number of reasons.

1, Hilton Petone finals.
2, Nike Cup finals.
3, A number of pre-season friendlies organised for Sunday.

The late start is due to Athletics having Newtown park booked.

That cant be the reason! Rules at the start of the NZFC were that you must have first call on your own park, and of course there was also that other rule about the lights but lets not go there.
