Solid looking team Matty C may have..Did Lucas score many goals in NZFC last year? Or in Auckland?

Great signing. I see why Waitakere went for Gagame Feni then.

Pure speculation but is it possible that Lucas has signed down here to be closer to the Phoenix?

Normo's coming home

That's what u thought too. A few young lads have relocated

Would Lucas get a run at the Phoenix? He is very short for a striker at that level. For the U20s against the nix, I don't think he really threatened Durante. (Although threatened to give Muscat a crack)

I guess the same would apply to Nick Branch then as well in terms of being under Herberts eye. It seems to be working so far for Chettleburgh. I would think he would possibly sign with TW if the nix don't pick him up so he stays under Herberts nose?

i quite rate dakota lucas - hopefully does well.  will be interesting to see how patrick fleming does in a team that actually gets him the ball too.

hopefully TW can get a couple of players of REAL class, i mean exposito class.  the league needs more truly competitive teams

All new Season Members and new Sponsorships would be gratefully received to help complete a roster with a couple of players of REAL class.

...but why would you need that money for signings Gilly, it's an amateur league?

Surely no one pays players...

nice call gilly.

BTW, no offence intended for the incumbents, but (in fantasy land) it would be great to have a marquee or two.

Amateur player moving town will ask for some expensives, I would think. Only fair as they play for free.

It look likes it's going to be a interesting season. ACFC obviously looking strong.. Waitakere always will be tough and then looks like Team welly have recruited well and HB united look to be a team of youngsters with a mix of experience.

Is Parkin in the mix? I don't see his name anywhere! He was Miramar's most consistent player this year IMO.

I heard a rumour today that the transfer of Dakota Lucas to TW is in doubt because Waitakere sprung considerable money for his appeal against his suspension for assaulting a ref so that he could go to Colombia. Because they paid out and he has wanted to transfer, they want the money back which is considered to be a large sum... I heard it was a decent 4 figures....

Can anyone confirm or deny?

Could they do that once a transfer was completed?

Are there any games this weekend?

I am not sure what you are trying to achieve by writing something like this? Posts like your one does not help to young Dakota or New Zealand football at all. Try to be more positive/constructive.

cheers

Sorry. Didn't see 'backroom staff' beside your avatar so I'll assume you a relation or a mate of his. Its a forum - don't like it, don't read it.

I was trying to ask if this was true or not, thats what I was trying to achieve. I was not aware of this at all and thought initially it was looking like a good signing for TW. Now I am not so sure. Either way, its a rumour in the football community so you can say be positive all you like, but its out there and people are talking about it.

Why sympathise with a kid that is obviously a bit of a headcase. Smacks a referee? Thats hardly character reference building material for a junior All White. Even worse if he has no loyalty to the man that paid to get him off his suspension and on to Columbia. Why would Ricki sign this guy?

Why don't you be helpful and spit out the truth if you think its so wrong.

If he is a headcase, he will have to watch out for Matty C who is known to be quite.....scottish

I haven't heard anything Mr Vader but surely Waitak have to agree to a contract release? If yes, then maybe it's tough if thereis money owing? Call in the lawyers maybe

I don't have any facts regarding the alleged assault..but you can read about it here - on the face of it, at least, it doesn't seem like much:

Probably not but it does lend some weight to the rumour being true.
