why bother arguing with him if you believe his point is correct?

Not sure even he knows what his point was!!

But read last line of previous post for answer to your question

I compared the last time the two sides that BlueMagic was using as an example met.  That seemed to be the obvious comparison.  The top two teams in the league.

What would you prefer?  The 765 vs Hawkes Bay, the 743 vs Southern - on Waitangi day when you were the only gig in town - or the 832 for a local derby vs Wanderers who supplied some fans (parents and family) of their own and the same day that Waitakere were away in Hawkes Bay?

The only two regular season crowds that leave City on top in this comparison are against WaiBoP and Waitak who clearly (based on every other number) bring 300-400 fans with them.

Want more facts?

In all honesty it's a meaningless comparison but then again I didn't fire the first shots.

I really dont care just good to see you back.....

But just kind of summed up the whole futility of your post when you talk about Waitak and Wanderers fans who up ACFC gates but fail to include there numbers from there home games on same day!! So if they brought loads of fans to games v ACFC stands to reason they would turn up to watch there own home games therefore make the 900 you quote for ACFC v TW game actually quite a good crowd no?

But you did fire 1st shots with your pointless little numbers game.....

you do realise you both agree right? The crowd numbers are basically the same between the two cities with population taken into account and any pissing contest (like BM started) to say one gets a better crowd than the other is stupid and pointless (especially when they're in the hundreds)

Sorry I have to say this. I confess interest in the ASBP is declining across the board, even at ACFC. I'm not just directing this at TW. It's a real concern. I enjoy supporting ACFC because there's still real local atmosphere at Kiwitea Street. But the truth is the O League and the CWC have become the club's primary focus now. Our national league is only a shadow of what it should be and if interest drops any further it's in trouble. It desperately needs rejuvenation but most of the attention and money is going into the A League.

Look if the ASBP was vibrant I'd be more than happy with all the interest and investment in the A league and the Phoenix. But if we let the ASBP collapse and put all our eggs in the A League basket then we're setting ourselves up for a fall because FFA has no interest in promoting NZ football (just look at the restrictions they impose on the Nix).

My primary focus in on NZ domestic football and that's what I support. Trouble is if I say any of this it's seen as anti-Nix.

sigh. Again with the money into the A league thing. That isn't happening.

Also nothing wrong with having eggs in both baskets.

Well done on tactfully changing away from the topic of crowds in Wellington and onto something different. It seems whenever you get shot down on one point you just move to another, get shot down in that then move on to the next point and this whole discussion goes on one big vicious circle that never ends.

Quite clever, but ultimately stupid as it just means you are continuously proven wrong over and over again.

Jesus Christ, I just made the mistake of looking in this thread for the first time in a while expecting that all the unread posts would be because Team Wellington are playing good football and are top of the league.

I would like to nominate myself for rookie of the month award for that error because clearly this thread has nothing to do with the actual football.

Eh? How is that a troll? Opinion is what it is and would you not agree? Or do you believe that the Nix could maintain 15-20K in Akl?

Hold on, Auckland has two teams so you need to take that into Account... So...

Auckland = 900

Waitakere... Oh, wait a minute... I didn't think this argument through...

i know it was a joke to have a go at Waitakere.

But by same logic Wellington has 2 teams that get about the same attendance. So you could double the overall wellington attendance then, and since Waitakere have no fans the Auckland attendance stays about he same.

Making Wellington a lot better at turning out for ASBP games than Auckland :p

(This is all bs, let's just get over it and move on)

I totally agree that ACFC numbers are not good. The issue is across the board with the ASBP. I don't believe the problem lies solely at the feet of the media or NZF. We, the fans, are to blame also. In some ways the media are only a reflection of what the public wants. It does grate though when radio presenter drool over their beloved (insert EPL team here).

I have actually seen a fair amount of ASBP coverage Online this season. More than I remember in the recent past. It's not likely to get on the TV news due to the lack of broadcast coverage.

Hopefully we see even more as the club World Cup draws closer.

Was it a hamstring? (Trying to recall from Twitter updates). That usually isn't good.

Na. Looked to be a knee. Was the result of a tackle he attempted IIRC.

Interesting, from our angle, near half way on the far side of the ground at the Tracey Hodge Memorial Stand, it definitely looked like Corralas kicked out at the player on the ground, but from the angle the camera was shooting at it looks like his leg was caught up with him and he was simply trying to pull it away...

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Not that it is a great indicator, but there weren't many objections from the players.

Totally agree Dale. I am not saying it wasn't a red - from where I was viewing there was no doubt he lashed out, and it was absolutely no doubt about it a red card in my mind. I was just observing how surprised I was at how different it looked from this angle.

Maybe you could do us all the compliment of recalculating the figures im sure we'd all be so grateful.

p.s Im so glad you are back so much fun to be had with you rather than Tegal and 2nd best, Vader tries his hardest but still got some way to go to  match your irritabilty factor

Joke of a competition now that its all played in Fiji. I do understand that its to save costs but it takes the whole "champions league" concept away. Should change it's name back to Oceania Club Championship.
