Here's my write up from Sunday with a review of the rest (ie the teams that didn't make the finals)

and some images

A crowd of only 150 for a crucial game deciding semi-final placings is really poor...

Team Wellington must have some of the lowest crowds in the league.

Here in Christchurch at English Park crowds have been pretty good with the stand regularly almost full.

Crowd of about 800 for our last regular season game vs. Team Wellington on March 11.

was smaller than usual - crowds have been around 200 mainly

the Hilton Petone tournament was on which doesn't help

Pretty much. Are you suggesting the Miramar model, if I can call it that, has a negative impact on attendances? There are other factors - a second ‘reserves/academy’ team in the premiership plus of course Nix all in the same region. Not sure the impact of say adding Wests into the mix. As we all know crowd atmosphere at football is a key factor in building an engaged fan base.

This is New Zealand’s premier league. They are a factor; but I know what you’re saying. Is the tee dub/Miramar factor the heart of the matter?

People make whatever excuse they feel comfortable with.  Personally doubt I've missed more than about 5 Team Wellington games since 2004.

No don't think it is, or if t is it's nothing like it used to be in the 80/90s, maybe because there was only one team from Wellington until the Weenix came along and everyone that supports TW pretty much supports the Weenix as well. Also think the relationships built through the youth team with the likes of Lower Hutt and Wests\Ole help as well

I have to say, personally, distance, parking and location have made it more difficult to attend TW games.
I guess my personal circumstances have also changed, but still it would be nice for them to play closer to town.

Good game all in all - it got more and more tense as time went on.

Dragons unlucky to hit the post early in the  first half but then I think TW were the better team by far.  Pretty scrappy affair, but Henry-Sinclair and Mario dominated the MF, with Bevin moving well up front.  Kayara had a great game, not just for his goal - he ran for 90 minutes straight and did very well in the LB role.  Scott made a couple of really good saves too.  I'm in Napier for Easter...wish I could quickly scoot up to Auckland to watch the game!

TW played much better football, a bit toothless final third. If you like slide tackles or enjoy 'men's sport' like the Dragon guy in my row, this is your team. Agree with nzPower Kayara great, MOM for me.

Slim chances I can make it to the final. Will be in Papamoa Sunday morning, depending on what time we leave I may be able to make it all the way to the North Shore! Here's hoping for an early departure! Hope TeeDubs make it 2 for 2

As an Auckland City fan I hate pointing this out but if TW's win it will be 3 from 3 - still not won the OCL though......8 in a row its magic :-)

I'm stranded withut Sky TV today so am relying on the regular updates on the NZ Football Twitter account:

https://twitter.com/nz_football?lang=en

They're doing a good job posting photos too.

They just posted a nice photo of the Yellow Fever crew up there supporting Team Welly.

Unsure how I feel about ACFC. They provide the closest thing to a professional environment in NZ domestic football (see Lewis, Howieson, McCowatt and TAHW), and represent the league really well on the continental and international stage. Still hard to not be salty when half the team can't play for NZ.

I am so proud of the Team Welly boys. They might not have won but they showed a shark to  of heart and held their heads high. They came over to thank the fans post match and they clapped when ACFC got their trophy.

Bloody proud of the lads.

Crowd predictions for the OCL game on the weekend? I take it there's no pre-sale as such, just first in, best dressed?
