I know it's only preseason blah blah but it's better for everyone (except the two Auckland teams) when people outside of Auckland do well. Well done TW, will be there next week to cheer you on.

I hope you have the decency to CONFIRM your presence , so arrangements to cater to the huge increase  of support can be made ....

So does Matt Calcott get some credit for being a manager who does a great job at developing players? Quite a lot of his (even though he may have inherited them from other coaches) have gone on to higher honours. I saw on the TW Facebook the list in the current all whites. Tom Doyle, Kosta, Musa, Joel Stevens and Fenton....am I missing anyone?

He may be in the right place at the righ time but he does seem to get guys noticed.

I think Matt does a good job with TeeDubs, but I think even he'd agree that most of those were recognised as good players before they came to TW. His considerable skill is recruiting. In saying that, I'm sure he's added to their education.

On a side note, we have some spare tickets to tonight's fully catered Capital Football Awards Night function. It's at 7pm. If you want to go email me asap: smithy@yellowfever.co.nz

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

I can accept that! Regardless, he does a good job at getting them promoted into new levels. Must be a smooth talker!

It was ten buck last season, I'm presuming it hasn't gone up

A tenner? Wow, that will surely help boost ASB Prem attendance!

I was out of the Country last year, but I seem to remember the year before that it was $5. Sure, the cost of living goes up, inflation does too, but I still think it's quite a lot of money.

Anyway, wanna come with Hamish?

Southern United games are free this season, and you get to watch them at the best football ground in the country.
Having said that, I would much rather take in the #WellingtonDerby at Davey F for a tenner.
How much are TW season tickets this year?

Yeah I definitely got my money's worth. Very good game to watch, probably one of the better NZFC/ASB Prem games I watched in a long time.

Happy to splash out the $10!

Can't wait for the return leg of the #WellingtonDerby at Newtown Park. Could be a BIG crowd.

BBQ sausages this season are from team sponsors Harrington Small Goods Miramar.

Have put forward requests for bacon upgrades. Hope you enjoyed

Reckon 500-600. Probably can only fit another one or two hundred in there.

Report on www.nzfootball.co.nz reckoned 450. Looked fewer to me, but I was on touchline looking across to terrace. Enjoyed the game. Enjoyed Luis' backchat too. Boyd the standout. God-awful wind.

Why only VIP's allowed into the club house bar?

Decent gate taking. Nix reserves could get more in at Newtown for the return fixture

Luis Corrales reminds me so much of Graham Little as a player it isn't even funny. Great for the spectator, horrid for the opposition.

....deep down I think that's why I went yesterday... just to watch Luis play,

Other thing. The chit chat with others around me yesterday was great.

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

So what were crowds at other games around the country. There was also Christchurch, Kiwitea and Waitakere? How did they stack up for crowds?

ChCh 500, Kiwitea 5000, Waitak 50 (acc. to my sauces).

i went to both Waitakere and Auckland games - both decent crowds - not as many as i thought there would be at Kiwitea - looked like less there than the Charity Cup game - but still more than at Waitak although I was surprised to see more than a handful of people.
