Otago Rugby should have followed the same model.

Have heard rumours!,that we are repeating last years mistakes!!!! Promising things to players and never coming good on them! If we can't afford it, we need to be up front right from the beginning.

How long can we keep the players, before they start walking AGAIN-just like last year!

On the bright side if we do manage to keep them, I hear some of them are looking quite promising!!!

Might have to get along on Sunday for the Waitakere game. If anything, at least we might see a few goals.

Since it's a Manawatu home game, does game commentary go in here?

I'd think so. I might be posting a bit in the Waikato FC thread too, though the conversation might be completely one-way, can't imagine there'll be too many viewers. Looking forward to being able to watch an away game though.

I must admit I'm looking forward to see how Waikato play when they are not being coached 24/7 from the sidelines and also to see what Stu's collection can do this year. Last year, they were rank awful.

I've also got money on Cowan getting a yellow for being a bit of a tool at some point. Generalisation but the odds always seem to fall that way with him.

Has Stu got the worst coaching record in NZFC history?

Maybe we should be taking a leaf out of Waikato's book!

Who is your alternative? Rufer is the youth coach (thats what De Jong said in the commentary I think) but would he want that job back?

Stu is a good coach and he is building the team with the young resources he has and its going to take time. My knowledge of PN football has fallen by the wayside but are their many players not in that team that should be? I would also think there are some liabilities (Cooksley and Kennedy cheif of them) that are in that team that should not be purely because a lack of alternatives.

Anyone is a better alternative..

Things havent changed and stu is cruising.. Bit of a piss take not sure he even cares

Although they played "better" today a loss is still a loss..

From what ive been told using the "park the bus" method isnt exactly coaching

Thought Cooksley  and the other big centre back (Schrijvers?)  worked well together on the weekend. Canterbury had to work hard to get through. The 2 goals were no fault of theirs!

Looks like the Manawatu v Phoenix A game has been moved to 16 January at 5-30pm, Memorial Park. I'm sure it was initially advertised as being on 9 January.

Oh, I don't know. Some of them are probably good enough to make the Manawatu first team, if invited.

Anyone know why Cowan played for the Youth Team?. Strange decision.

Schrijvers ? (think hes 19yrs), must be one of the youngest ASB captains?

Cowan had family commitments the week earlier.. Stu took exception.

Stu is losing the plot..

Either is feasable
