All right, so what time should we be there? I'll struggle to be there before 9:45.

Be there as soon as you can... unfortunately we would have to kick off at 10 cause of booking time.

I mentioned the game to Pasty, he looked a bit afraid, but that might just have been me.

I'm going to try to get there by 9:30am with the kit bag so there's plenty of time to suss the teams.
Bag ready now, roll on Saturday :)
I'll be wearing a red shirt with #2 on the back, and will probably be wearing my Los Halcones Locos FC hoodie unless it's crazy hot

1-0 to Auckland fever at halftime

Final score Auckland 4-0 Wellington. Very even in the first half but Welly tired in the second half. Or the hangovers kicked in. Plus, Auckland had a 10-year-old called Sebastian who is clearly the next Marco Rojas.

Auckland turned up with 2 keepers so I played for Wellington, and only one of the goals was my fault. Great game.

brilliant game! would definitley be up for a rematch next year.

Big thanks to Tyson for setting it up.

If any of the Auckland folk are keen to play some more my team has a handful of summer soccer games on Wednesdays (although I'm not sure about Waitangi Day) and then we're entering a Sunday team in Winter.  Giz a txt or call if you are interested 0275242506 Mike

Also, I've got someones red boots that were left behind at the park.

Apologies for not turning up, after all my to and froing here. Good on the Auckland lads for getting up, I'll make sure to come along and bring the team down a notch next time.

Those are mine, but sadly I am back in Wellington now. Will have to think about how to get them back, I'm glad to hear that somebody picked them up though!

Picked them up and then Mike grabbed them as he had an idea who it was that left them. Also one white sock. What you Wellington lads do without us?!?! :P

Just heard back from the guys at Te Atatu AFC, we have 3 games left for Summer Soccer including this coming Wednesday (Waitangi).  If anyone is keen for a run let me know :) 0275242506

My mate has offered to fabricate a trophy for this!  he's pretty handy with most metals, any suggestions?

My 2c worth: The Golden Ernie

I can't drive photoshop but I'm picturing a metal replica of Ernie the Fighting Chicken mounted on a trophy base.

Annual competition est. 2-2-2013 :)

Fantastic idea, and I think an Ernie trophy would be fantastic.

A toilet seat? Keeps in the spirit of the A-League

Only if it has some writing on it. I recommend 'Donde esta la pollo' considering Auckland are the current holders (and we are using a toilet seat and not Ernie)

Grumpy old bastard alert

We could compromise and have the Chicken trophy and winners' medals in the shape of mini-toilet seats.

I believe we have a winner!
I'll get a design to Pete for the Golden Ernie, and start scouring $2 shops for mini toilet toys and spraypaint the seats.
I'll post updates as soon as available.
Could the players from the Auckland side please email me their contact deets at michaelgclarke@yahoo.co.nz
Cheers

No progress on the Golden Ernie on account of laziness, but should be catching up with my metalworking chum to discuss soon enough.

My Social Sunday team is having a friendly game at Gloria Park in Te Atatu Peninsula this coming Sunday (3rd March) at 3:30pm, if anyone is keen to play social footy on Sundays, come down for a trial run :) We're not the best footy players in the competition, but we do keep the bar running :)

Flick us an email you're keen to play michaelgclarke@yahoo.co.nz

Hi all, our season in the ASFA (Auckland Sunday Football Association) is firing up, and we might be a little short.  Anyone keen to play?

Hey,  how many Auckland based folks are planning on heading to Wellington for the 12 Pubs of Lochhead?

This year it falls on a Sunday (22nd of Dec), so I was thinking we could organise another Fever Friendly match on the Saturday?

Permalink Permalink

I'm keen for this.

I'm sure anyone else who wants a great weekend away would also be keen! :D I'm sure the Wellington Lads and Lasses can organise a team and venue.

Since most people should be on their holiday break, work won't get in the way and we can have a good showing from Auckland going down!!! Hands up who would like to go! :P

I'll be bringing a drunken contingent down, having my stag do with the 12 pubs, so I'll get the lads to bring their boots :)

Auckland won the first game 4-0, can Wellington pull a team together strong enough to make up the difference and win the inaugural Fever Cup? (yet to be assembled..but it'll happen)

Awesome.
Im pretty sure my lot will be flying down and taxi/bus from there.
Most likely staying at a backpackers in central Wellington, so anywhere close to the city would be rad (I don't know the geography of the capital all that well)

Make it an actual toilet seat, and just write the winners on in permanent marker each year.

And yeah Wellington college turf is about a central as you can get. I assume the goalposts etc stay up over summer too, will have to check up on that though.

Play it as a Curtain Raiser at the RoF.... it could not be any worse than the Young Heart Manawatu  v Waikato game I sat through last year.

We would have been to about 6 pubs by then, I think it could possibly be worse (which is saying a lot)!
