And two articles on Pompey potentially going into admin..

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/p/portsmouth/8527495.stm

I just want this season to be over. Havn't been able to check out whats been going on ever since moving. I heard it was going not so great for pompey. Though we did beat scummers in FA cup. Thats really all I needed to know haha. Then heard about this kiwi Businessman and then this admin. AHHH.

Unbreak my heart Pompey, unbreak my heart.

Pompey have gotten away with blue murder so far it's unreal. Admin is not enough. Points deduction is not enough. Something needs to be done in order to show clubs you can't spend loads with borrowed money and get away with it.

I feel sorry for the fans in all of this, they have done nothing wrong and will hurt the most. Ponder this though. You all loved Harry for guiding you to an FA Cup but did you ever think of the ramifications to go with it?

Three for me, and two for them.

from the sounds of some fans, yes, they did. not alot they could do about it anyway

Sad to hear that Pompey has gone into administration - a lesson to all about the perils of over-leveraging on players.

Buffy - agree re: the fans. Unfortunately, it seems to me like Pompey were a victim of their own success. The FA Cup and some credible league placings seemed to make them bullish about their spending and unfortunately once Gaydamak left, there was no-one left to keep pumping money into it to keep it afloat.

Well supported club that has been shafted by wealthy or alleged wealthy persons whom wanted it all at someone elses expense. If they do go down, there'll be another 10 points or more waiting for them from the FL.

A disgrace. I wonder how much of the debt comes down to Agents fees, Player wages, Club officials wages etc. I hear Storrie is on 1 mill per year. For what? Screwing over a good club??

......and yet a good win away at Burnley shows the players are still trying.  I would not have blamed them for just making token efforts. O'Hara was a legend, he deserves a big club next season. Orpewise2010-03-03 08:36:38

Isn't O'Hara on loan from spurs?

So, who's gonna donate? I've got roughly 70 pounds saved..

The 9 points still hasn't been deducted yet I see, Don't we have to go to a hearing?

Birmingham in sights for 9th as well. A win would be excellent.

And into the semi-final of the FA Cup.. It makes it all very interesting. Imagine the FA allowing the winding up the club up now, not only the shamble of the league points, but also who proceeds in the cup...

I'm slightly disappointed!

wembley wembley, we're the famous portsmouth city and we're going to wembley!!!

was a top atmosphere on sat and back to wembley again. 2 1/4 finals in one day and both teams did it. ive been getting up in the early hours to watch phoenix and its been awesome. shame to miss it but a trip to wembley will compensate nicely me thinks!

Perennial strugglers Liverpool up next. Be good to win against them again. Still waiting on the points deduction... Storrie has stepped down. Also read 70 or so jobs were being axed within the club. Guess it's time to make money for Pompey.

85 jobs have gone. always gonna happen. thankgoodness storrie has gone, was on half a mil a year!

oh well all about the cup now. anyone want a semi ticket? might have one going spare.
Permalink Permalink

85? ouch. Poor Folks. Money is money I guess. And I believe the axed jobs were ones which would not affect the players at all. half a mil? Making more than what he could make for the club most likely haha. Guess the objective right now would be one of making Pompey Profitable again.

Any Idea on when our points get deducted? I believe the hearing was last week?

If I had a spare 7k kicking around, I'd gladly take up that ticket.. heh

Ok.. So this morning, that wasn't a good match. Atleast we scored one goal though, thats good.

I read today that our points will be deducted after the court hearing, when the 3 big boss guys meet up and formally deduct, when that will be.. I think in the next 2-3 weeks.

poor buggers, truly horrible stuff for fans to have to go through

we need to get our financial certificate in place before next season or we will be docked points then aswell. we need to clear mour debts to other football clubs, or have at least agreed repayment plans, for this to happen. so we need a buyer before then.

From what I understand HMR&C will be the decisive creditor and have to sign off any CVA. They historically oppose any CVA unless monies are paid in full, so how much a new owner is willing to sink into the club could be the deciding factor to avoiding another 10 in Championship. Ad infinitum until there is a solution.

Things are looking a little brighter but I'm sure more Storrie/Redknap/Gaydamak/Al Fahim/Azougy dodginess will be revealed.

Good to see Grant sticking with you.

well there is a long list of people we owe (including 2mil to mr campbell) and while the HRMC are near the top the footy rules say (quite bizarley as it must be the only business in the country) that footy creditors have to payed off first. so we are gonna need quite a bit!

9 points deducted today. more games next season and cheaper season ticket hopefully.

Have only just been able to check up on whats happening. Really hope we don't end up like Leeds.. But I am glad we finally got our points deducted, don't have to wthink about that now.

All eyes on next season eh? Know if they play that over here? Am guessing they don't.. may try and find a stream online.

Yeah, thats a good website, its where I found Justin.tv, Wasn't sure if it would have championship games.

Also 3-2 against Hull, awesome stuff. O'Hara is prroving to be an excellent striker again. I wonder if he'll be on for next season? I wouldn't think he would be.. on loan from Hotspur am I right?

yeah mate. he'll head back there and if he isnt gonna get in the team he'll head to another prem team either on loan or permanent. doubt we could afford his wages anyway in the champ.

He should stay in the (Spurs) team - he's young enough and developing well.  In fact we actually need him right now because it's a very thin midfield at the moment (not a reflection of Modric's physique).

You might be able to pick up Taarabt from QPR (on loan from Spurs).  Apparently he thinks he should have gone to the Scum instead of Spurs.  Can't see him coming back when his loan spell is over after comments like that.

anyone watching pompey v chelsea?

that goal was unbelievably bad luck

o hara clearly fouled, ref plays on, ball then headed through to james with drogba bearing down, and it takes an atrocious bobble to go straight over james foot and allows drogba to tap in

crazy

Yeah I'm watching it. Very unlucky. @James - less power mate, more accuracy. If he wasn't all about kicking the ball as hard  as possible he would have easily disposed the ball with inside of his foot. Shame to loose a goal like this in hugely important game for Portsmouth.

there was nothing james could do about that, did everything right, got to the ball first but the rucked up ground edge of the box skipped the ball up. so unlucky, esp with the foul on o'hara.

3 more injuries today against spurs, wont have 11 players to field in the semi at this rate.

It boosts our chances for making the final but it's not the way to do it (if you know what i mean).
