More dropped points, makes the run for second unnecessarily close,. Both were from us being weak in defence, 1st, neither Stirling or Trossard closed the man well enough, and even then the ball should never have got passed all those bodies, 2nd, again Saliba, Raya and Kiwior playing with the ball at the back like its a training kick around. Raya needed to be on his line as soon as he'd passed to Saliba, but he's stood there watching his CB's play kick the ball. Very poor.
Dreadful game and players never looked into it. Spurs get to have their season highlight again of supporting the opposition and celebrating their own team losing whilst they sit just outside the relegation zone in their lowest position for 50 years.
In more impressive news the woman’s team overcame their 1 goal deficit away to Lyon, battering them 4-1! They’ll face Barcelona in the final, which could be the same fate for the men if they get their shark together for PSG. No club has won the CL for men and woman in the same season, could be a tasty proposition!
I saw the highlights of the women's game at lunch. Just absolutely dominant. While the final will be ridiculously hard against Barca, we are there and that gives us a chance. And yea the men better pick their shark up asap or it is going to be a very limp end to the season.
I have an amazing ability to find my way out of mazes. I'm pathological.
With Pastry out, Merino drops back to midfield and Trossard starts up front. A good call I think, and I bet we still see merino pop up at the top from time to time.

Know it's not the reason for the result but how can you be offise from a free kick seriously? There's genuinely no reason to start offside when the ball is stationary. Surely it's easier to run forwards onto it anyway.
Just so bitterly disappointed. Know it's not over yet but to win 2-0 there feels extremely unlikely. Just so gutting because this felt like an opportunity that comes so rarely. 19 years since we made the final for the only time, 16 years since we last made the semi final plus a 5 year period not even in it. Just feel so gutted knowing how long we have to wait to get this chance.
Very disappointed with the players performance (and fans by all accounts too including that disastrous tifo effort by the club) albeit not far off earning a draw however another game to turnaround a small deficit and I think we'll have a different team out - Merino up top, Partey in midfield, White at RB.
Thought our subs were terrible - White and Nwaneri should have come on alot earlier, if Odegaard is carrying a knock it's fair to say the team has been carrying him for a while now.
So now we have: Liverpool PL Newcastle Carabao Cup Man City - likely FA Cup Chelsea - likely Conference League United/Spurs - Europa League
And we're left with nothing watching all our rivals win all the trophies and have "better seasons" while we continue to be the one mocked. 2nd leg is such a massive game. Trophies are the be all and end all. Going back to earlier discussion, we've progressed a long way from 5 years ago but there has to be a reward now. All our domestic rivals are winning things. 2nd forever isn't enough. Noone is going to remember we came 2nd a few times if there's ultimately never a trophy at the end of it.
While I understand that thinking, I don't really care what other teams achieve or don't, or what others remember or don't. I care about what we do. I'd rather be 2nd in the EPL than win the conference league or even the Europa.
I believe we can turn around the PSG game. Arteta needs to earn his stripes by doing that this weekend.

Massive 5 days ahead. Top 4 getting congested, but we need to find two wins to lock it in. Suspect if we can ensure a win against Saints, and not dropping points to Newcastle we are fine.
Then it’s how we turn things around. Given PSG’s level of technical proficiency I think it’s worth noting how Arteta changed things 20 minutes in and we got control back. With a better understanding of our system against their’s, and our preferred midfield trio back we can do this.
Aside from Partey’s return, I also think we need a much bigger performance from Odegaard. Rice stole the show against RM, but we need Odegaard to do the same at PSG.
Let’s also not forget we are without Havertz, Gabriel, Jesus, Tomiyasu, Calafiori, Jorginho. PSG aren’t missing anyone. Take Dembele, Marquinhos, and Vitinho out of their starting 11 and we are closer to a more competitive alignment. It’s knock out football, anything can happen. COYG!

While we are 2nd (for now) in the league, pays to remember we haven’t got near challenging for the title this season.
We also had limp exits from both domestic cups.
Undoubtedly everything hinges on Thursday morning, and our season will be defined by it.
Painfully I don't think we do. Still think we are a great chance Thursday, worried that Arteta is too similar to Pochettino in his daily demands therefore players tire heavily at the business end of the season.
It was an amazing game for the neutrals, can't imagine the stress of being a fan for that one!kwlap
That inter Barca game was wild. And for some reason, it's given me a boost for thinking we can do it tomorrow!!
I do wonder what team shows up tomorrow night. If it's the team that played Madrid, we're on for a result. If it's the team that played Bournemouth, we're absolutely buggered.
Epic 2 legs in the other semi. Pleased to see Barcelona out as always, but think we'd get battered by either of those anyway. Let's hope for a miracle tomorrow then I suppose you never know in a one off game.
Partey in the lineup makes a big difference. Expect us to be a lot more solid with rice, merino, partey all there. PSG were able to cut through us last time like no other side weve played this season imo. Weve got a chance. Come on lads.
I’d love to see Nwaneri and some other youngsters get a run until end of the season. A lack of rotation has hurt us, and with the pressure off it would be great to get a glimpse of who is coming through the ranks.
Feel devastated personally. This really felt like a chance. 16 years since we last made the semi final, I was looking at this as the kind of chance that won't just come around again. With the recent collapse in the league and the fixtures remaining there's a chance we're not even in this again next season anyway. As we've seen with the league you don't just get the chance again when you don't manage to take it. Unfortunately we're just the team who always fumble when it counts so we'll just have to wear the bottlers tag for now.
Anyway, I land in London about 4 hours before the final (if all goes on time). At least there now won't be a mad panic to try and find somewhere to watch it and we can probably just collapse and have a sleep before we begin the holiday properly.

Lack of rotation has hurt us three out of the last four seasons.
Arteta really needs to learn when to give players a rest and to trust his squad over the course of a full season. Probably the biggest mark against him as a manager imo.
