Fulham are playing well and showed that again today.....but we really should have put them away. Hope they can cause Liverpool+ Chelsea trouble as well, and that this is just a bump n we kick on.

Two goals and one assist for Saka. What an unbelievable player he is and what form he is in.

Three for me, and two for them.

gotta keep him fit and firing if we have any chance of taking some silerware this season.

Also love how we now have a mural of Nicolas Jover outside our ground and it’s winding everyone up big time.

Geez our set piece is just about the best I've ever seen, from anyone. We are such a threat, every single corner, it's pretty mental. Genuinely a surprise that we didn't get one this morning.
12 Dec 04:52
I feel for Jesus at the moment. He was very good this morning but just couldn't put his chances away. While he is clearly 2nd behind kai, I hope he keeps going coz the goals will come

Yeah, he just hasnt kicked on for us. Been here since 2022, 65 games and only 15 goals, compared to Haverts who arrives in '23, 51 games and 18 goals.
Neither is Haaland prolific but Havertz clearly suits the style of play that Arteta wants to use particularly in the EPL. We need a good back up to Havertz and hopefully Jesus is happy to play that role. But at 27 he'd consider himself just hitting his peak so maybe he'll want to be the starting #9 somewhere else?

It feels like January will be big for us in the window. If the club wants to go for it dropping some serious ££’s on Gyokeres and Inaki Williams would likely be enough to win the PL and make the semi’s of the CL.

Awful result.

We have zero presence up front because we play without a centre forward. Has Havertz been on the pitch the last 2 league games? Apparently he started them according to the lineups.
15 Dec 11:13
We just don’t have the squad to go for it. Our LW output isn’t good enough, and our two x CF’s play too deep when we are against a low block. Havertz and a traditional CF would bring enough variety for us. Jesus is done. We also can’t overlook how fudgeed our left side has been since Xhaka left. We don’t have a consistent LB and Left 8 courtesy of injuries and suspensions.

Chelsea look a threat tbf. Maresca seems to have found their best 11 (from about 874 players to choose from)

Three for me, and two for them.

Other teams have been doing their best to give us the chance to go top for weeks now but we can’t take our opportunities.

Hattrick for Jesus! Good early birthday present for himself.

Looks like we made it hard for ourselves, conceding two! Although we did have very much our 'B' team on the field. Of course Nketiah had to score on against us.

We were on easy street most of the game. Mateta scored against the run of play, not surprising when your CB's are Timber and Kiwior. From then on was all us, but very disjointed with the heavily rotated team. Second half was very dominant, Odegaard and Saliba on with Timber at RB switched the dynamic, and Saka accelerated it. Couple that with Jesus finding his shooting boots, and crucially the space to take shots, we were cruising. Nketiah's header was one of the best goals we've conceded all season, cross came in between Saliba and Kiwior and somehow Nketiah managed to get above Saliba and put enough power on it to beat Raya - outstanding finish.

Watching Jesus last night I was reminded about the quality he has, but that he's not the guy you want against a low-block defence. Since we sold Giroud we've lost that big man threat which is crucial against an Everton type defence.

Palace surrended the game about the 70 minute mark with their substitutes, will be interesting to see how we go away to them.

Shout out to KT for making his return - looked decent going forward and at the back. Wouldn't mind if we kept him through until the summer as back up for Zinchenko and Calafiori.

Also, Odegaard's stats are insane. Came on at half time with the score 1-0, in 45 minutes he created 4 chances which led to 2 assists, completed 2/2 dribbles, and had 42 touches. Insane.

Good weekend of results so far. Another two goals for Gabriel Jesus and a pretty convincing win. Then to see City’s slump continue and us going 6 points clear of them is awesome. Now for Liverpool to bottle it.

Chelsea are also ahead of us.

I know. I’m less worried about them.

We did what was necessary, closed the gap on the top two althoguh they have games in hand. Now we hope results go our way for once.

I'm just a bit worried about Saka, hopefully he won't be out for too long - apparently he was seen leaving the ground on crutches. Arteta said they need to do tests but that he was pretty worried about it

Looked pretty bad when he did it, hammy's are never fun. Fingers crossed he heals quick, but also that he is not rushed.

I think the Saka injury almost guarantees we go into the market in January. He’ll definitely be out a month minimum - and given January has 9 games in it we’ll struggle.

It’s how we play mate FC doing us absolutely zero favours this morning.

It was fun to dip in and out of, everytime the spuds thought a comeback was on Liverpool would put another one past them. Back to back seasons of wilting at home to help ensure we don't get a title!

We’re in the 80th minute of some pretty uninspiring football from us. Just need to grind this win out and move on.

Not pretty but you bank the 3 points and move on.

The lack of creativity without Saka is a worry but got to look at the positives too. We’ve extended our lead over City, we’ve chased down Chelsea, and we haven’t lost any ground on Liverpool.

Ipswich learned form their last game against Newcastle, they were very defensive in their mindset and let us play with the ball in their half. 1 is all you need at this level. Their two chances on goal cam in the first 20 seconds of each half, after that they didnt really pose a threat.
I'll take the 3 points and second place at the halfway point of the season. Need Liverpool to drop some points soon though.

I always get nervous about games vs Brentford. They’re a decent team and we could easily drop points. I still have flashbacks from when they beat us opening game of the season a few years back. Pretty happy with this mornings result, especially without Saka.

Just have to try and keep Liverpool within reach. They have a gimmie against relegation fodder this weekend while we have Brighton away.

Keep winning games and doing what we can but no point getting excited about a title that isn’t in our hands.

I am enjoying the chaser role though, much less intense than maintaining the title charge. In other news I snagged a ticket to Newcastle home tie for the cup semi final - stoked about it!

Good start to this game. Lovely goal from Nwaneri. We are struggling to hold onto the ball. We seem to move it to quickly for ourselves down the left and to slow down the right.

Pretty flat and disappointing 2nd half. Really needed to win that to stay close to Liverpool. Hope Manure can pull something out of the fire

We were really shark after that goal. Reminded me of watching Southgate's England. Go 1-0 up early on and then sit back and wait for the opposition to score.

Not been easy for us when you consider that you can probably count on one hand the amount of times Odegaard and Saka have started together this season but fudge me, the football really isn't positive enough far too often.

Three for me, and two for them.

That was really frustrating, Nwaneri the really only bright spark all game, his yellow was annoying as he might have stayed on afeter the half.
Issue was creativity (or a lack of) which is down to the selection of Jorginho and Merino together, along with Rice in the midfield. Neither J or M are really creative with the ball, they lose control way too often compared to Odegaard adn Partey.
Selection of Partey at RB again is questionable, what does White have to do to get the start?
We are gonna be seriously dangerous if we can get Saka and Nwaneri on either wing!
