Well that is the end of the PL title charge, can’t imagine a squad this thread bare and out on its arse making a tilt. This one’s on the club for not doing better in the market. Sterlings lack of impact is telling, as is our lack of options in defence even though we always seem to sign 2 defenders each season. Whatever we do in the window now is arguably too late, and I wonder if they might just accept their fate and believe in a top 4 finish and focus on the summer for a bit of surgery.

FFS, yet another game where we drop points to AV. Last season, in exactly the same position and points we are now and Vill cost us 6 points.
I find myself again asking why the fudge is Partey playing RB. Especially when you have Kiwior on the bench!
As soon as we'd scored the second Partey should have been off, Timber moved to RB and Kiwior to lock up the centre.
AV's first goal was a nice cross and brilliant header. Could the cross have been stopped sure, but it was a good peice of play.
Their second goal was solely on Partey! He loef tthe attacker all by himself, stood there as he waltzed passed him and then didnt even move when he saw the shot unfold! Absolute liability at RB!
I think Raya could have done better on both goals, caught flapping a bit on the second. But his defensive line needs to be more assured. We had enough quality on the bench to lock that up!

At the end of the day,  Liverpool brought an £80m striker off the bench and we brought on Sterling. This is the outcome we planned for.

Here's something to hopefully cheer everyone up on a shark Monday. Tottenham are closer to Southampton than us in terms of points.

Oh, and United are laughably dogshark.

COYG.

Three for me, and two for them.

Lots of chat about Juventus getting a striker on loan from PSG, and that will enable them to seek Vlahovic. Even if we don’t sign him, this could have a domino effect that if he goes elsewhere it frees up someone else for us. Cunha has famously stalled on signing his new contract and stormed off after being subbed vs Chelsea so that could indicate things happening behind the scenes too. I reckon we could see a mad end to January!

1 week to go in the window. Looks like Zinchenko will leave, and KT will go on a Bosman (likely Jorginho & Partey too). Our finances will look good now and end of season. Deloitte money league has some incredible growth for us due to last seasons successes and deep CL run, and our wage/income was in the 50%'s. With the aforementioned fours wages gone we'll have plenty of room to play with money for new signings - I just really hope we pull something off! Big one to watch will be if Cunha is in the squad for our game on Saturday, that seems to be alive and kicking...

Looks like our academy will make a signing in Sverre Nypan. Some Norweigan magic midfielder. Only 18 but I imagine he will be rotated between the first and the academy

Michael Oliver knows no bounds for being an utterly useless cod. I cannot fathom how the fudge that trips is a red card. Unfudgeingbelievable. Explain that one Webb and co. I don’t know how the team hasn’t actually punched him.
25 Jan 17:44
Pleased the lads overcame PGMOL, who have confirmed MLS red was for violent conduct and gets a 3 match ban, and found a way to get 3 points. Concerning we have lost Odegaard and Merino to illness today, hope we get them back in time for Girona away, even if to enable Rice and Partey to get a breather.

Well we were playing against a team determined to disrupt the flow and a ref who is clearly out to screw us. Every season he manages to make a call or two that impacts us. Martinelli's two yellows in 30 second = red 3 seasons ago. A red card today that was clearly a yellow! VAR was never gonna overturn or reduce it because its Arsenal!
Relieved we got the win but that was made harder than it needed to be - Oliver should not be reffing in the EPL again - he is utter sharke and has clear bias against certain teams.

Lots of chat about Nico Williams release clause being triggered by us and spurs, can’t imagine him chosing that lot. If we got that don’t this window and added Evan Ferguson, and went in for Sesko or Isac in the summer we’d have made some bold upgrades. Norwegian protege could be coming this month too. Zinchenko to Dortmund still seems on the cards, and the KT back to Celtic bosman is done but they want him sooner. Can’t imagine both go, especially since KT is getting off the bench more often than Zinchenko.

Edit: and thank god common sense prevailed on the red card. When the PGMOL came out defending the decision and VAR I thought we might be about to get fudgeed over.

We put in a bid for Watkins, only for djuran to move to Saudi for 80m quid. Bonkers from the young fella and it sinks any remote chance we had of getting Watkins

I think we informally chanced our arm and Villa used it as a chance to embarrass us with Duran's move. The horrible thing for us is that Saudi paying £80m for the lad lifts the price tag on the options we're after.

Transfers aside, what a fudgeing goal from Nwaneri. It's like falling in love with Saka all over again. What a player.

Turns out Saliba is human after all eh?
02 Feb 17:52
MLS is going to be a bloody legend. Scoring his first goal against City, doing Halaand’s celebration, what a lad. 🎶 he’s one of our own 🎶
02 Feb 18:39
Glad we stayed humble.

What a result! Harried, presses, played smart, no mistakes. Just all round awesome.

Gutted I missed this, 5-1 that's a domination in anyone's language.
"stay humble" really hasnt stood the test of time huh?

Same here. Had to work through most of the game. Saw the odegaard goal which was gifted to us and missed the rest.

Seen the Nwaneri finish on reddit just now. Unreal finish. Kid is going to be special.

Three for me, and two for them.

02 Feb 22:18
Even though I watched 70% of the game, I just got the chills watching the highlights. Soo dominant. And Nwaneri's goal is just soo beautiful.

That felt really special. After all the years of being battered and screwed by them this one feels so sweet. What a legend MLS already is. Big performance in the NLD and now that today. Felt like some justice for what happened to him last week getting it all overturned then scoring that goal when they tried to suspend him. Love the celebration too. Hopefully Mr Humble remembers to remain so today. MLS shouldn’t be far off an England call up at the next squad at this rate too.

Just how good is it to see 115 FC falling apart?

Falling apart just in time for the FA to come down hard on them!

Liverpool fan here. While I'm extremely reluctant to admit enjoying seeing a rival win, I have to admit enjoying that result after Haaland's stay humble antics earlier in the season. I can't think of a greater example of Schadenfreude - couldn't have happened to a more deserving team as they say.

Also have to admit I wouldn't mind if you got past Newcastle on Thursday. The first Liverpool-Arsenal cup final in over 20 years would be great.
03 Feb 07:15
Perfect response to City’s arrogance after they were lucky to draw against us last time. Such an emphatic result as well and I loved our trashing.

Also it’s so great seeing two young guys who are clearly so comfortable at this level and have a great future at the club.

Now we just need Liverpool to drop points.
You cant just pick and choose which laws to follow. Sure Id like to tape a baseball game without the express written consent of major league baseball, but thats just not the way it works.-Hank Hill

It's remarkable how a result changes the mood. I'm now excited to watch the Newcastle game because I know we've got nothing to lose and the talent to pull of something special. If we go there and turn it around, get a signing in, and get the warm weather break in we're well set for the run in. Can't believe the way Hale end keeps giving. Arseblog pointed out MLS & Nwaneri is like £100m in signings if you think about the level they're playing at. Unreal.
07 Feb 11:54
^ This did not last long, what a lame exit! Hopefully the Dubai break gets the boys in the right head space for a final run in for the title and CL. 14 PL games and a maximum of 7 CL games between Feb 15th and the 31st May. Chat GPT reckons that's a game every 4.8 days once you factor in the international break in March. Hopefully it's a bit more managable than has been and we get Saka/White back soon.
07 Feb 19:49
Martinelli reported to be out for a month. Hardly been setting the league on fire but it's another body we are without.

Three for me, and two for them.

If only there was some way to foresee the lack of depth in attack. It's almost like there needs to be some window in the season when you're allowed to add to the squad or something 🤷‍♂️
09 Feb 15:52
Sterling to find a time machine in Dubai and come back as 2017/2018 Sterling for the rest of the season...
12 Feb 17:25
Confirmed that Havertz is out for the rest of the season with a hamstring tear. Saka and martinelli are due back end of March so the next 6 weeks will be tricky..
I know we tried to get someone in the Jan window but wonder if we weren't creative enough in our thinking for who could provide us with what we need. Previously we've been able to get the likes of trossard and jorghino when our first picks weren't there. I wonder if that's down to Edus absence.

Might just quote this every single day now.

Fudge me what a disaster.

And here I was thinking the other week that a trip to Dubai was just what the squad needed...

Any chance we thought we had of managing a run in the Champions League is surely now gone.

Also not particularly confident we can manage to get 2nd in the league with all these injuries piling up

He torn his ACL, didn't he? I don't think we are seeing him again this season.

Just had a scroll through the free agents on Transfermarket. Looks like Diego Costa,  Wissam Ben Yeder, and Carlos Vela are looking for a gig still. I reckon each of of them could be a better option from the bench than Sterling, or starting through the middle ahead of Trossard.

The real sliding doors moment is not hanging onto Chido Obi Martin. Think he’d be about to get a string of games.

Eish, just read WBY has a two year suspended prison sentence for sexual assault, we’re definitely not that desperate.
