Imagine if I did that in the street! I'd get locked up for assault! And Lampard got his three match ban taken away. Thats lucky (that Bosingwa escaped trouble and he did too). Also, you needn't worry about set pieces, we are truly awful at them. I think a bit much is made about our zonal marking and all that, but we never score off them!

Interesting blog comment in the Guardian:

Scolari is working to new budgets and financial restrictions where Mourinho had none, and there is no suggestion that patience is running out at Chelsea. But there has always been an understanding that qualification for the Champions League and a coherent challenge on all fronts were expected at the very least. Across the capital a pair of Chelsea icons in Gianfranco Zola and Steve Clarke are excelling at Upton Park and their progress will not go unnoticed for long. Scolari, back in the snow at Cobham, cannot afford to let disappointment see his Premier League season drift.

Sounds like you have conceded defeat in the title race already. How honourable.

I also recall Scolari saying at the beginning of the season that being manager of Chelsea would be a lot easier than coaching Brazil.

Seems like you have all lowered your expectations somewhat.

Ok now that we have got rid of Scolari (yah!) We need to get rid of the retirement village; Deco, Ballack, Drogs, Anelka...
Permalink Permalink

They are all quality - just been poorly utilised. Ballack is the only player in his thirties from that list too - FYI

Signs are looking alright under big Guus - Abramovich just needs to replace him with Dick Advocaat at the Russian Football Federation so that he can take the job full time.

Drogba is 30, Deco 31 and I think Anelka is 29. Though I agree that Guus has used Anelka and Drogba well and Ballack can still be good I still think Deco has to go.

chelsea need to find another striker in the mould of Drogba, he can become understudy to Didier and eventually replace him when his knees blow up....but imagine a 4-4-2 with two Drogba types up front.....Lampard would have free reign....or would that go horribly wrong? kenwyne Jones is supposed to be the new drogba isnt he?

Two Drogbas would be bad I think a good combination would be a young and quicker version of Anelka and a younger version of Drogba.

so one strong, and one fast. i get u. Drogba and Anelka should be so deadly....but i havent seen it yet

Sergio 'Kun' Aguero from Atletico Madrid or David Villa from Valencia would be my picks to bring in up front......although Aguero was a little wasteful against Real Madrid at the weekend!

Interestingly enough, Kun has recently become a father and is engaged to the daughter of Diego Maradona.....sign that little fella up!!!!

Did you know if you guys want to move from your 44,000 seat stadium you will no longer be able to use the name "Chelsea Football Club"

I think Chelsea fans would know that Michael cause even i do. However good to see a United fan with some actual footy knowledge.

When they moved they would probably only change it slightly so it wont make much difference

Why mention its only 44 thousand too? Sounds like someone is trying to look big with Old Trafford?

Yes but why would we want to leave a ground where we were unbeaten in 86 matches (the best home record ever by about 30 matches) and ManU still haven't won at Stamford Bridge since 2002.wellyphoenixfan2009-03-13 17:10:17

I just thought it was interesting, and me saying you guys should increase your stadium should be considered a complement.

Anyway, I just though this was interesting, they probably just make it Chelsea FC or something though eh?

How does the side of Stamford Bridge affect what Chelsea are called? So long as they stay in their current location of Knightsbridge, they can have an 80K seater and still be called Chelsea FC.

Stamford Bridge is the most expensive piece of football in the UK in terms of land value.....

The area Stamford is on is too small to expand. And because of the Chelsea Pitch Owners Association if they move they can't use the name.

A good display up at St James to ruin the 1st coming of the 2nd Messiah....

Could have been 4 or 5 going by the onslaught in the final 20 mins.

Bring on the Scousers in the CL quarter......

Outstanding this morning.  After getting our arses kicked home and away by the Scousers this season it was always on the cards.  We bossed the game from the moment Liverpool scored.  Funny old game football.

What a game this morning. First half was terrible for us but what a great second half. Who said Liverpool-Chelsea CL games are boring?

Wow, what a week....firstly the incredible CL 1/4 2nd leg at the Bridge and then winning the FA Cup semi this morning, making Arsenals first visit to the new Wembley a painful one.

Solid and powerful midfield performance by Ballack and Essien and good control by Lampard to create both goals.

The Drog, love him or hate him, he has been revitalized under Guus and I'm loving that.....when he flexes his muscle and displays his power game (and stays on his feet) he is unmatched in football......

"Flying high, up in the sky....from Stamford Bridge to Wem-ber-ly....we'll keep the Blue Flag flying high"

We have to do everything possible to keep Guus.....even Malouda is beginning to play well and find his confidence again.....the players love playing for him, his tactics (are usually) spot on and we are playing a great style and brand of football again....

Incredible week - but apparently we're all twats according to some little prick on the Arsenal thread.  Or maybe I'm just a twat because I try and tell it how it is.

Anyway, Drogba's unplayable at the moment.  I know the Arsenal keeper's getting loads of stick but the way he muscled past the centre half who just gave up the chase was classic Drogs.  We're coming into form at just the right time.  Whether we'll convert that into trophies is another matter given it's likely to be Man U in both finals (if we get there in CL).  Agree Hiddink must stay on whatever happens.

Here's hoping for an Everton win tonight just to make it more interesting.

I have a feeling we will resign him. When he first came and that whole Russia thing happened I had the feeling he said it in case he did badly but he has done very well so I am hopeful. Only flaw on his record is that loss to Spurs

[QUOTE=Jose's Dog]Incredible week - but apparently we're all twats according to some little prick on the Arsenal thread.

Those Arse fans are pathetic, abit like there team really, the're constantly on everyone else's thread dishing out insults, their team was 2nd best on sat and deservedly beaten by a better team and they can't take it, they lack humility and are bad losers i suspect the manx will hugely embarrass them in the CL semi as they are an average team over-rated by there desperate fans, once again they will finish with no silver ware

Things are looking good for the Blues everyone is lifting their game, our midfield must be strongest in europe, with the Drog  back to his old self and Malouda had his best game in a blue shirt he was out-standing, Alex is a rock, Ivanovic find of the season and with Carvaliho on the return we only need Cech to get his act together now... who knows what could happen even the Premier league is still possible
