Not before time...
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Well done. You hammered us on our own ground. Fair play. But it is pretty meaningless even you can admit that.

And far point about Ronaldo JD. Look at the players he's dropped or even effectively sacked in the past who have had run ins with him or whose egos had grown too big. Is Ronaldo finally an exception to the Fergie rule?

Three for me, and two for them.

Agreed Buffy.   Surprised there were so many goals in it.  I was expecting a dour draw.

Not meaningless, it secures an auto CL spot and Arsenal now have to go through a tough qualifying campaign to get into CL.

Remember the agony of 12 months ago and all those John Terry jokes we had to endure?  Me too - and I'm p*ssing myself laughing this morning.  There is a football God.  And he isn't named Ronaldo.

Well we all know the final happened a few weeks earlier in London

I don't care what people say, I still love winning this trophy.  Chelsea fans have had a real love affair with the FA Cup since 1970 and long may it continue.  Great performance this morning after the initial shock.  Totally bossed the game and early in the second half I was going for 3-1.  Were it not for the goal that wasn't, it would have been.

And good on Guus.  Yet again he showed what an absolutely decent and nice bloke he is.  The reception the fans gave him was very emotional.  He will be a big loss to us for sure.  This one's for him with our grateful thanks for turning things around and getting us back on track.

Am I right in reading that you've made a move for Kun?

Interested to hear the opinions of Chelsea fans on our dealings in the off-season transfer market. We've been relatively quite compaired to some clubs noteably Man City, but the transfer deadlines a few months away so no need to panic. I think we need at least 4 quality signings on top of the current squad if we are to seriously challenge Man Utd for the title.

1. A back-up keeper to keep Cech on his toes, Hillario dosen't inspire confidence.

2. Another CD as Cavarlho is injury prone and JT has his moments too.

3. A proven goal-scorer to complement Drogba and Anelka

4. An out and out attacking winger similar to Robben, but not him more a player who can operate left and right side.

Our midfield is strong and we have good cover for injuries etc.

I'd also like to see Deco off-loaded as he appears too weak for the Premier

I'm sure you signed Turnbull as reserve GK on a free just recently, and don't forget you will have Joe Cole back to fitness who I believe can play both left and right sides of midfield.
06 Jul 01:38 · edited 09 Sep 05:07
Don't know much about Turnbull and not sure if he is the man to give Cech some serious competition

Agree about Joe Cole playing either side but with only him and Malouda being the only wide attacking players we certainly need another one as cover or as another option. Ribery seems one of the best around at the moment and would be a good purchase but cost a fortune

The Striker I'd like to see at the Bridge is Tevez, he was one of United best players in the latter stage of the season and would work well with Drogba and Anelka, United will miss him and with Ronaldo gone they won't be as strong as last season. City look favourites to sign him but hopefully he will come to his senses.

Now we've signed Daniel Sturridge does this mean Kalou is on the way out? He seemed to fall out of favour under Hiddink and is starting to look surplace to requirements.

Yuri Zhirkov is apparently having a medical at Chelsea - he's a winger.
07 Jul 02:17 · edited 09 Sep 05:07
Zhirkov looks more like a left back than an attacking winger, so we now have 6 full backs and only 2 attacking wingers, seems a stange signing. Unless the rumours about Real Madrid's interest in Ashley Cole are more advanced than reported.

Didn't beleive for a minute that JT would leave, seems Ancellotti rates him and wants him as captain. Now Ancellotti has taken control things might start to happen.

We are being linked with a lot of names from all the big clubs which I hate.  The only one I would break the bank for is Riberry but he only seems to want Madrid.  He's all class.  Deco has criticised the club publicly so I would say he'll be out before the season starts.  Hopefully Carvalho will stay on.  So far we seem to be buying younger, less well known players which bodes well for the future.  But, like Malouda, they need time to find their feet in the EPL.  JT?  Won't be going anywhere unless Chelsea want to sell.  Can't imagine that will happen for a minute.

Chelsea captain John Terry has told Roman Abramovich that he wants to hold talks with Manchester City about a possible 40m move, according to reports in the UK press.

Terry held showdown talks with Blues owner Abramovich on Saturday night and although the centre-back stopped short of handing in an official transfer request the England international made it clear he wanted to speak to City officials.

The Sunday Times claim Chelsea were willing to make Terry the club's highest paid player, ahead of Frank Lampard, but they would not match City's offer of 250,000 a week, plus a 5m signing-on fee.

Terry is thought to want to hear for himself what the Citizens have to offer but Chelsea insiders believe the 28-year-old is just using the transfer speculation to negotiate a better contract at Stamford Bridge.

If the England captain does head to Eastlands, the London club could replace him with Newcastle United centre-back Steven Taylor and will pay up to 10m for the 23-year-old.

Meanwhile, should City manager Mark Hughes miss out on Terry he will turn his attention to Porto defender Bruno Alves. The 20m-rated Portugal international is also wanted by Barcelona.

Following on ...

Chelsea have made it clear to John Terry that they will not increase his wages to ward off interest from Manchester City.

Club owner Roman Abramovich is reported to have met with the Chelsea and England defender over the weekend to discuss the ongoing interest from Mark Hughes' club, but talk of a new deal has been dismissed.

The two are set to meet again as Chelsea make a last ditch attempt to persuade Terry that his future remains at Stamford Bridge - but if Abramovich fails to convince Terry of his place at Chelsea then they could face the prospect of the heart of Londoners defence heading up North. (The Daily Mail)

I think there will be one major signing and thats it. Would be very surprised if JT went. The tabloids have got to fill the pages with something. I hope I don't eat those words. Not bothered about only a few low key signings, a settled side carrying on from last year should start the season well. I don't think we need a high profile striker to come in. The Drog is still the best around when fit and getting on with the coach. A great season awaits.
15 Jul 12:03 · edited 09 Sep 05:07
What worries me about the JT story is it isn't going away in a hurry. JT hasn't come out and confirmed he wants to stay and until he does there will be continued speculation. He should just tell the press he's staying and City to eff off, end of story. And the players supporters and club can start planning for our third premier league trophy as its there for the taking this season.

John Terry has been quoted as saying he feels Chelsea were robbed against Barcelona. Marks & Spencers have said "Now he knows how we feel when his mum has been in store".

"My sat nav must be broken. It says that Chelsea is 2 minutes away from Rome"

Just heard that London has been hit badly by swine fever.........

30,000 Chelsea fans are pig sick!

Strong start to the season so far with comfortable wins over mediocre oppositon, good to see our main rivals losing early ground.

Drogba and Anelka working well together and was really impressed with Mikel against fulham he's getting better every year.

The key to winning it this year is beating all the teams that come to the bridge for a point, like Hull who just stick 11 behind the ball and battle like f*** , and winning more of the top 4 games, our record last season was abismal in these games.

Looking forward to playing the Yids in the next few weeks, we need to get back to spanking them home and away like we did for 20 odd years, its amazing they win a few games on the trot and their big mouth fans are gobbing off all over the show even putting the Arse fans in the shade, it will all turn to tears soon though and can't wait for that
