You idiot. We did both. We stopped them playing, and still created chances. We either just f***ed them up, or got bullshat by the ref.

Not a lot of teams. Nor players. Though I too can picture Rooney doing something like this to be honest.

Hopefully it will be Rooney and Ferdinand doing just that in the final.

Spot on. But doesn't this show what is wrong with football at the highest level nowadays? The behaviour of Drogba and Ballack is deplorable for two players in the absolute elite group of footballers worldwide.

Anyway looks like Platini got his wish doesn't it. Another all-English CL Final might just of caused him to implode.

Looks like EVERYONE got their wish. It's no secret everyone wanted a Barca Man U final for some reason. If Man U are smart, and the definitley are, they will beat Barca with relative ease

Definatly deserved to win that. Four easy penelties turned down though in the end we had other chances that should of been taken that were not. You can say we were lucky in Spain but then Barcalona won the lottery at the Bridge. Terrible refereeing.

I thoughr the ref was poor, and you are right, there should have been 2 penalties. However, Barca were the better team over the 90 min. As a United fan I would have rather have faced Chelsea in the final, as I reckon that Barca are the best team in Eupope.

Umm what?? Did you watch the right game? They didn't even have a single shot on target in the first 90 minutes for starters...

In my opinion there's a few factors that deserve comment from today's game

Ok, speaking as a supporter of a team that beat Chelsea (no grudge to bear), I have to be added to the insane category.

Over the 180 minutes of the tie, I think the team with over 70% possession, 7 shots on goal to 5, 33 shots overall to 16, 16 corners to 8, has a lot of reason to feel as though they deserved to get through.

I only saw the 1st 45 minutes of today and thought Barcelona looked far the better team, but there you go.

It must be remembered that football is a game of chance and sometimes thing do and don't fall your way. That is the way it works. Essien's attempt on goal would probably go in only about 10% (or less) of ocassions. Doesn't stop it being brilliant. Penalties are sometimes given, sometimes they are not. Chance sometimes has a human element (bloody referees!), sometimes not (post/deflection etc).

At times it all seems is so unfair. Us Burnley fans know that only too well. But, that is all part of the beautiful game and long may it continue.

At the end of the day, the better team is defined by the one stat that matters.

And its insane to suggest that you wouldn't be just as pissed off as Ballack and Drogba were.

Maybe a slight exageration. Better, though in the 45 minutes I saw. Only in the final delivery was barca lacking. Their movement on the ball was much more fluid, and much more pleasant on the eye.

Only works if you hold out to the bitter end. Chelsea didn't quite do that. Their tactics very very nearly worked. Alas, not quite. That's the risk you take.

Most of Chelsea attacking options were through the long ball in the 45 minutes I saw. If that's effective, so be it.

Please, what chances? You scored from a brilliant shot from outside the box, but there was nothing creative about the build-up. Drogba had the only other chance when set up by Anelka and he fluffed it. Everything else was hoof it long and hope for the best. And Barca still outshot Chelsea in this game too - Chelsea had more shots on target, but not more shots in the whole game.

Admittedly, you should have had 2 (that's 2, not 4!) penalties. Just like Barca should have had one in the first game. And just like Barca shoudln't have had a man sent off. And just like Ballack and Bosingwa in particular managed to stay on at Nou Camp despite hacking and smacking anything that moved for 90 minutes. The refereeing was crap in both games, for both teams.

In the end, Chelsea paid the price for an overly conservative approach, especially after they had Barca on their knees after Abidal got sent off - you were a goal up, a man up, and Barcelona looked dejected and defeated. Yet Hiddink then decided to sub on Beletti for Drogba and sit on the lead, and it came to bite him on the arse big time. Deal with it - after 180 minutes, Chelsea were behind Barca in pretty much every meaningful statistic you can come up with in football. Sure being knocked out hurts, but some much needed perspective is in order here.
