TVNZ 7 (Free Cn 7, Sky Cn 97) just ripped Nelson after the loss, and ripped NZ football because of it.

Was it really Nelson's fault for Blackburn's loss? (Actual Question)Michael2009-10-25 20:56:31

Sadly i was unable to see the game as i was staying somewhere without sky but from what ive read blackburn were just outclassed in all areas. Its hard to blame nelsen or any one player when the whole team is beaten comprehensivly.
Blackburns style of long ball play which is good against the lower teams would have been too simple to beat chelsea

yea as much as i hate to see liverpool win it was better for us that man u lost
over 16 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Also if Liverpool lost it would be 5 in a row! Still 4 is funny enough and tbh I prefer ManU losing then Liverpool.

Great results this weekend, 5-0 then 6-0!

4-2 is also a good number, just don't ask any Derby County fans!!

Good to see Joe Cole back and playing well. Lamps sounded very impressed with what he saw from Joe.
I read somewhere that he will be like a new signing for Ancelotti which is a cool way to look at it. Gives us a few different options

Good to see sturriidge will start tommorow.  matic will be on the bench, hope he plays, have heard good things. hopefully bruma and boroni can come on aswell
over 16 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
nice result this morning  thats 4-0, 5-0, 4-0 in last 3 games over 3 competitions. thats a decent old run that. would like to have seen matic come on. dont really see the point in bring on drogba when the game is already won but there we go, im not a manager am i.
though id make a dam good one
hopefully we can repeat this on the weekend

another 4-0. just becoming the norm now isnt it

Carvalhos cross for the third was lovely. And the set up for drogbas goal, especially lamps back hell was simply superb. playing with a real free range of passing at the mo. seldom loosing posession which bodes very well.
and liverpool lost so thats just brilliant

Scousers not the main threat anymore though it's quite apparent their not the team they where last season

Man U this week is massive and the Gooners are still on our coat tails but with the recent results i feel confident that we will turn over United, it will be interesting to see their starting line up probably 5 across the middle with Rooney on his own up front.
I'll back Ballack, Lamps and Essien against any combo United can muster and i hope Ferdinand is back cause Drogs will have a field day

Can't wait

hmm hard to feel bad about getting a point away in spain in a game we really deserved to lose, so close to winning though, bit hard to take. great way for drogba to make his return to the champs league.
now we look ahaed to man utd this weekend. a win there and we can start to open up a little gap
over 16 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
We never really went for the jugular in the first half and it was pretty clear we weren't going to go all out for the result.

At the end of the day we're through the round of 16, and that's all that matters!

Hopefully tomorrow morning I'll be enjoying the scousers' demise :-)

Kun saved the day, but ultimately you were lucky to even be in the game. Very good performance from Atletico all things given. Kun is fantastic. Didn't even start either, he'd have taken Terry to pieces if he had! Terrific performance from the fans too. Top drawer fans, generally! Roll on el derbi madrileno this weekend!

just read that sergio 'el-kun' aguero is linked with chelsea

Except at the mo you can't sign anyone? Kinda lucky for us as you would hve to presume they'd be keen on Paul Ifill

Meh, he said he was flattered about the interest. But he also said was happy at Atletico, he feels like he was born there and he wants to stay and fight to the death. However, it seems he will eventually end up at Chelsea anyhow.

yea we will just have to wait till we are allowed to sign him

Cant wait for the man utd game 2nite, i think its a good time for us to play them, i rekon we have the goods to beat them.

Kun is absolute class. Small in stature, but big in heart. And f**king skillful as well. Congratulations on beating United. Would have preferred a draw, but oh well. Good result for your lot. 5 points clear now, is it?

We have a game in hand though. So really 2 points.

Three for me, and two for them.

Happy with that.  Referee had a bit of a mare second half to be fair.  Our goals was dodgy but the Evans assault on Drogba that saw Drogba booked defied belief.  United had their chances so can't really complain.

SAFwit has already. The guy needs a rest in the stand for 20 games.

ill take the 3 points any way they come. missed the 2nd half cos had to go to work so missed the goal. not surprised to see SAF already blaming the ref, getting sick of that guy always taking the pressure off a bad reslut for them by turning it all on the referee or someone else
over 16 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
He's been doing it for years! And you still all hate Rafa for standing up to him...

Ahkay, Buff, fair enough. Right now, I'm more worried about City and Spurs results!!!

Watch the goal, 3 blatant ref mistakes leading to it.
over 16 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
as well as the blatant penatly on valencia not give, Terry halued him down not getting anywhere near the ball when beaten for pace suprise suprise. watch the game if u wanna havea go at fergie for attacking the ref

Every game that United dont win by more than 3 goals is the refs fault, it's a repeated performance far too often. Does he not think that people get tired of hearing him all the time?

It would be just nice for once, for SAF to be gracious in defeat, whether it be through the referees ineptidue, or his own teams piss poor performance or heaven forbid, the other team played better on the day.

If he can't stand the heat......

He is often gracious in a quality defeat. The other thing is, many people don't realise he comments on the reffering when its not in our favour as well, just non United's don't notice it.

Look at Fletcher... wrongly sent off before a champions league final, denied at least two penalties since then, and then this today. United should be getting at least one penalty a game on average, and they're not being called. What's a manager to do?
over 16 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
In his case, shut his mouth. i have heard him only once ever been gracious in a defeat.
