glad to see ferriera score
not guna pretend im ok with loosing (i hate penalties) but also, am not overly angry. its the carling cup, we didnt play a full strength team but all credit to blackburn for pushing us all the way.

another cup semi for ryan nelsen

Anyone know how Nelsen played? Disappointing to lose but atleast Nelsen benefits and we can focus on the real cups.

i hope missing the final penalty doesnt affect kakuta's confidence being such a young guy

I'd like to see a blackburn v man city final. fresh faces in a cup final. And reward for Ryan Nelsen having a cracker season so far.

I am very excited about the prospect of Ryan Nelsen leading out a team at Wembley...

Should be against United.

so before we beat man utd on penalties in the community shiled this year we had lost 5 sucessive penalty shootouts

i never seem to have luck with them

considering i also support england

good to see young miroslav stoch playing so well for fc twente

played 14 of their 15 games and scored 5 goals, playing left wing

hopefully when we recall his loan we have a decent young player who can break into the first team

Haha and it was the Community Shield! You can make as many subs as you want, meaning its a friendly. It doesn't count.

Correction - it doesn't count WHEN YOU LOSE.

Its a charity match, its about giving to the disadvantaged.

Hence you won.

this result makes things interesting at the top. still it's about time city started showing some return  by taking on the top teams and winning.

was royally f**ked off with the result, and the game itself

we didnt deserve to win. as soon as we scored we just played like we wanted to canter to a win. this usually works but after they went a goal down city started pushing hard for an equaliser, they were going for every ball and seemed alot hungrier for the win

not often lamps misses from the spot, and drogba missed a few chances too, just wasnt our day.

my only gripe was that there were alot of 50/50 challenges that howard webb gave in favour to man city

Actually I think this is very true to be honest.

got apoel this morning. Jt, ashley and ballack dont look to be playing. i think ancelotti will start kakuta, he was a bit flat against blackburn but he offers so much.

dont need a win but after 2 defeats in a row i would sure take one
over 16 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Chelsea team vs Apoel

Turnbull, Belletti, Terry, Carvalho, Zhirkov, Mikel, Essien, Joe Cole, Kakuta, Malouda, Drogba.

Subs: Hilario, Ivanovic, Lampard, Anelka, Bruma, Borini, Philliskirk.

Oh well. A draw was enough, eventually. Luckily, I had done my maths right- so excuse the slight over-reaction above. Soccernet had Atleti as bottom, but their head-to-head is better with APOEL. So Europa League it is! Phew. Thank you Chelsea!

geez getting a bit angry at our defending of set pieces, thought we sorted that out

at least man u lost so we gain a point on them

but we really need to get back to winning ways next game

Soon as Terry starts speaking to Cech ....we may get better results,Portsmouth at home next week.......no clean sheet here and the manager may have problem !!!!!!!. [9 goals against in 4 matches]

the ghana fa want to send their doctors to check if essien is really injured cos at this stage he may not make it to the ACN
over 16 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
geez that was one frustrating game. glad we got the win but after going one up we just looked a bit flat without drogba. their goal was lucky but this should have been a far more comfortable win than it was.

kalou was pretty average, given chances but didnt capitalise.

boroni on the other hand was very good, look foward to seeing more of him
over 16 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Yeah Kalou very average, never really liked him. Bit worrying still about set-pieces despite them getting lucky, good finish though. Borini was very quick, unlucky to not get that goal, with Drogba gone (For ACN) hopefully a few starts for him.

We really dominated possession in the first half but couldn't really finish anything but their defence was quite good/our attack was one-dimensional.wellyphoenixfan2009-12-17 23:43:39

based on todays performance missing drogba will be the biggest worry of all. very disjointed without him

A great day for me to have Drogba as my captain. Why wasn't he playing?Arsenal2009-12-17 18:46:47
