Android apps out already I think.

yea I got it

I watched most of ManU/Chelsea on it. Buffered for about 4-5 seconds a couple of times which my computer hasn't done at all yet when watching PLP. Apart from that I was impressed. Initially the picture quality was terrible but after about 10 seconds it cleared right up and stayed good, and I'd say it was about on par with what it looked like on my TV - if anything a bit better, but I think that's just because it's so small so looks so clear.

If frankie mac's smear campaign somehow does bring down coliseum by Dec, would we get refunds from PLP?

I think you are massively over-estimating my influence.  And no.

Same here. It's wonderful and simple and how I will be watching my Premier League from now on.

article in Metro about these guys. Not a big team by the sounds of it, or at least there wasn't starting out. Paints it as a bit of a Robin Hood operation.

Most of the dev work at least was oursourced to Neulion, so I wouldn't have expected their team in NZ to be huge.

I notice couple of them haven't actually purchased a subscription. Sounds familiar. Also saying NFL one is better, when its pretty much the same product is laughable. Giving the app a one star because they won't let you watch for free also makes no sense

Or if the switch is set up for lock orientation, go to the multitasking menu, swipe to the right for the brightness, volume and music controls, and check the mute button on the far left.

Streaming the United Liverpool game to Apple TV from an iPod Touch at the moment, and the stream is running perfectly on the highest quality setting with no stuttering or anything. Awesome.

Yeah quality has been consistant ever since their 1st weekend. Loving the PiP mode and having 4 games on the same screen was useful as I had a multi going.

Little annoyed this morning (and not just at the result obviously!)...

Woke up at 6am, grabbed the iPad clicked the ARSEnal v Spurs game and it said 'Stream not available, try again later'. So closed the app, tried again, 3 or 4 times and still got the same message. Then started to watch Liverpool v Man Yoo and watched about 3-4 mins of that and then tried the Spurs stream again. This time it worked...

Then about 20mins in, it suddenly flicked me out of the stream and back to the PLP image and a message came up on the screen  saying something like 'Another user is logged on, please log out'. Well the only person who knows my user details is my 9 yr old for his tablet. He was still asleep. But even if he did log in, why would i be thrown out and get the message (after all i was in the midst of watching the game).

I then closed the app down, opened it back it up, it made me sign in again, and then it told me again the 'Stream wasnt available blah blah' when i clicked the Spurs game. It only did this once and then next time i clicked it worked fine (although obviously restarted at the beginning of the telecast, so i had to drag the progress bar and guess to roughly where i was in the game) and i watched it till the end.

The MAIN thing i find frustrating is no option to go forward by 10secs or 30 secs or the like. The previous two games i have watched, I have had a couple of hours spare and watched the entire games without needing to fast forward. But this morning I was planning on watching the game in about 60mins, and using my fingers to drag the small dot in the progress bar at the top is far from ideal. Why isnt this feature there? It's on the browswer version...

Happened to me once too. I can only think that it happens if you don't sign out of the browser version properly after last use (ie just close the browser instead of signing out - I do this all the time). If you log back in it'll work again, but yeah it is annoying.

I watched game live so didnt notice lack of fast forward, you should bring it up with them. Another problem I had on iPad was that I started watching the city game late, I averted my eyes from the score, scrolled the bar back to the start, but it only went back 30 seconds. So I had to watch from 30 minutes in. Was annoying. Not sure if thats because it was one of those 24 hour only games, or if its a problem with the app similar to not having ability to fast forward

when i put a game on this morning, it gave me the message that i need to download adobe flashplayer - which I know i dont. I closed the browser and tried again, same message. So then I clicked to download it, thinking perhaps I've missed a new version or something, but it told me that chrome automatically sorts out flashplayer for me, and that I'm all up to date!

So i closed chrome down and watched it on internet explorer, no problems whatsoever. But what's that about? Anyone else have that issue?

Nah, watched it on chrome a few hours ago. That's weird.

PLP are not showing the AW's. stuff failed.

Permalink Permalink

Yeah wouldnt think so. You'd assume sky are the only ones capable of getting a broadcast team for the game here. They may have got confused with the 2 qualifiers being shown this week.

Yep - I was having a go at the picture quality given the constant complaints on here and the Geekzone Forums about the lack of HD and stuttery picture etc... and '...todays picture is not quite what we have become accustomed to...'

The game was in the Ukraine not the UK.  It's a pity as the Ireland game was pretty good quality.  Didn't see this mornings match at all.

Permalink Permalink

They send out a England v Ukraine spoiler in their email today. Straight after saying "if you haven't seen England v Ukraine you can watch it on PLP now" so there was no warning of spoiler as it was a PLP email about their ongoing tipping and fantasy competitions (not a house of football review/preview email)

I hit them up saying while I already knew the score, it may have affected others and I hope they won't be sending spoilers out for other games as it often takes me a few days to watch games due to work and having a life. They disagreed. Thoughts?

I didn't know about the 24 hour rule......

Permalink Permalink

The 24 hour rule.... I thought that only applied to leaving a 40oz at a friends house. If its there longer than 24 hours, ownership of said 40oz becomes the house holders.

Have to agree with PLP there.

Permalink Permalink

I don't mind if they mentioned it had spoilers. But it caught me by surprise. I usually take a few days to watch games. Its quite easy to avoid results, but when its in an email from the company that supplies the games, and for them not to warn of spoilers, you'd think they wouldn't spoil games for people.

In the end though, they probably did people a favour!

Guess that's kind far. reckon you are one of the few that would watch a game 3 days after it screened. Reckon most people would be within a day.
