Apparently David Moyes is trying to sign Bothroyd from Cardiff because he just declined a contract extension from them.

Everton are also interested in Klose

@klose Yes please. Hopefully we can sign a couple of decent wingers. Moyes hasn't really said much so far in terms of transfer targets, only really that we have f**k all money

Also 'Norwich City sign striker James Vaughan from Everton' rumoured fee of 2.5million including add ons

Big no on Bothroyd

Maybe on Owen, depends on if we able to sell anyone
Permalink Permalink

I don't think we'll struggle to sell.
It's more who are we going to get in I'm not that inspired by the names Klose, Owen and Bothroyd tbh

Bothroyd would be a great signing, he did great for Cardiff last season and im sure he's a lot better than the likes of Anichibe

There has also been talk about signing Demba Ba

Better than Anichibe Yes, however we already have Beckford so for me it would just be another like for like signing

Klose and Ba and a couple of lower league strikers all rumored (Shane Long from Reading and Craig Mackail-Smith from Peterborough). Sounds promising that we're actually linked with decent players so early on. Fingers crossed.

Its no longer a problem.

Moyes has just said to Everton fans not to believe the transfer talk until we actually sign someone. With the money we have, it is unrealistic that we will sign players like Demba Ba but he would be great for us. However Klose would be great because of his quality and the fact that he is a free agent. It is the fact that apparently Spurs and other good clubs are after him and his high wage demands that would make him unrealistic. Boothroyd would hardly be better than what we already have. He would be good for depth if we offloaded another striker

I no I shouldn't be believing rumors, but apparently it is very likely that we sign Joey Barton on a free transfer after his contract extension was rejected by Newcastle.

If his medical is successful and we do sign him, we may well have found the last piece for our jigsaw. I wonder how much we offered West Ham as apparently several clubs have been monitoring him

Just found out that he failed a medical which meant his move fell through to Stuttgart in 2009. He also failed a medical for Stoke before signing for West Ham

I really do like to think positive when it comes to Everton but it often leads to frustration.

Ba has a relegation clause with West Ham - so technically we could get him on a free.  But wages seem to be a concern (along with the medical by the look).

Moyes is now trying to bring N'Zogbia to Everton

To be honest, I'd be quite happy with getting the likes of Shane Long from Reading and adding a couple of other squad players (depending on what happens with Yobo & the Yak).  Would be great if we could pick up Sergio Canales on loan from Madrid though.

If we could just get off to a semi-decent start then I think we should be able to push for the Europa league slots with our current squad.  Hopefully Saha will come back fit & ready to go and Beckford keeps on developing.

Yeah, Long would be a decent signing, I think. And if you could get Canales...  That would be brilliant for you.

Probably selling Rodwell to get N'Zogbia and also lining up Wes Brown. Not sue that's going to be a good thing. Fellaini seems keen to move as well as he wants Champions League footy. Not sure he's good enough though.

Its no longer a problem.

Apparently Man City have made an offer for Baines -
10 Mill and two players.
Permalink Permalink

I wouldn't read too much into paper talk.  Been following the Soccernet website transfer blog and about 90% of it is all just talk.

In saying that, while he was our best player last season, Baines for $10 mil plus a young city defender and one other may be what we need.  Depending on what we were to get from City, the $10 mil could be put towards a striker (or a new left back).  If we wanted to go for it , the stumbling block may be trying to get the City players to take a pay cut - there is also the issue of them thinking they may have an outside shot at a playing in the Champions League this year.

I hope we don't have to take though and Baines stays.  If we get rid of Yobo & the Yak then we may be able to bring the odd fresh face in.

I really doubt it would happen. For one we would rather accept straight up cash as the players they are offering are either past their best, are disruptions to the team or want too much money. And also City have actually started talks with Clichy (not a rumour) so unlikely they would go for Baines if that goes ahead
Permalink Permalink

Liverpool is the main threat to take Baines I think given City are after Clichy and Arsenal have Gibbs ready to fill Clichy's boots but then I can't see Moyes allowing anyone to go to the Red side.

Hmmm, its the complete opposite of that Chelsea kit Cech wore. Cant say I'm a fan of it. New home kit is nice though.

Its no longer a problem.

Austria - Day One

Evertonfc.com has dispatched three members of the media team to provide in-depth coverage of the Blues' pre-season training camp In Austria. Each day they will post a fresh blog of events in the Alps, and in this first instalment you can find exactly what sort of coverage you can expect across evertonfc.com and evertontv.

Pre-Season 2011 is here - and evertonfc.com has a bumper supply of news, videos, blogs and podcasts coming your way to keep you in touch with David Moyes and his first team squad.

As with the Club's coaching staff, preparation for pre-season on evertonfc.com begins weeks before the players report back for training.

And with the recent changes on evertontv meaning even more people have access to the plethora of video content available, this is set to be the biggest summer the Club's official website has ever known.

But rest assured, the three-man team that made the journey to the Club's Alpine training camp in Austria earlier today are not over-awed by the work that lies ahead. A little bit nervous about the availability of decent wifi? Maybe. But that's what 3g dongles were invented for, after all.

The trio delivering your online content this week are Scott McLeod, Andy Lewis and Adam Lees. The first two have embraced social networking and are available to follow on twitter as @efc_scottmcleod and @efc_andylewis. Adam hasn't - but that is probably for the best.

His task over the next four days is to film and edit all the content which will be gathered. That should mean exclusive player interviews, profiles of members of the backroom team and daily news round-ups covering the goings on and hard work within the camp.

The daily video output will be supplemented by news articles, blogs like this one (but hopefully more interesting), podcasts and webchats.

The webchats often prove the most popular element of pre-season. Phil Neville is set to be our first webchat participant - and your challenge is to ask him something he hasn't already answered via his relentless stream of tweets @fizzer18.

Our daily podcasts will give an alternative view of life in the Everton training camp - and will boast exclusive content including, tomorrow, an insight into the benefits of bringing Everton's Reserve and Youth squads along for the gruelling training camp with Under 18s Manager Neil Dewsnip.

As well as providing bitesize audio packages, you will be able to view exclusive photo galleries from the idyllic setting and provide your comments on the news articles and images in order to make the most of the exclusive, unrivalled, blue-tinted access available here from our dedicated team.

And the next four days from Austria is just the start, with trips to Philadelphia, Washington DC, Moscow and Bremen to cover in the weeks ahead. Enjoy!

Hmm, on second look it isn't actually that great is it. Added top the horrid away and keepers kits its not looking a pretty season kit wise. Lets hope the third one is nice again.
