Move for Nigel to Leicester has been delayed. Mr Allam, our benevolent Chairman and saviour, is nobody's fool when it comes to finance and has told Leicester to stick their 400,000 quid compensation packet fair and square up their Khyber Pass and multiply it by 5 before he'll listen.

good news - if Pearson is to go then it would be good to get a decent ransom for him

so looks like Nick Barmby will hold the reins for a while and perhaps for quite a while

no moves for anyone else, since Warren Joyce has said he wants to stay on as man u reserve manager

I would expect Garcia to come off the bench on Saturday as he's as ready as he'll ever be according to reports.

Another good win away. Up to fifth and above Leeds. Things are looking good under Barmby.

Its no longer a problem.

OK, looks like we got up against the odds against your lot this morning (having got out of jail a few weeks back). However, we've turned into a bit of a bogey team for you - I make it six in a row - so maybe it was in the stars.

If it's any consolation, Eddie Howe most complimentary about Hull ... "it was a tough game and I have to say that Hull are probably the best side we have faced this season in the two games".

Easy for him to say I guess, but augurs well for the rest of your season.

Cheers TM

I know, I know, its serious!

I dread playing your lot Mike- it never ends well

I still owe you a beer from one of the previous moments of misery

I can see either, both or neither of our sides making the play-offs

hope Barmby gets his midas touch back when Derby come to visit

a bit of an ugly run of form at the moment but still in top six

Mannone back on loan and Brady extended til end of season

and Barmby inching towards signing as 'permanent' manager

interest in another Man U reserve Josh King

Simpson back from loan

Garcia fit

It's all happening in East Yorkshire!

oh yeh the FA Cup hhhmm (the romance has gone, unless we do ok)

Unless Simpson has had a head, leg and brain transplant during his stay with Millwall then he will still have no idea where he is, where he is going or where the goal is. He should be arrested for impersonating a footballer.
Brady needs to get down to some teamwork rather than playing like he is in a team not worthy of his presence.
Mannone is a good accession and will provide some much needed stability in defence.
I would like to see Richard Garcia take a more active part in the side as he has experience above this level and would surely secure himself a permanent place given the chance.
Josh King hasn't scored a goal at this level so why people are waxing lyrical about him I just don't know.
Still need somebody up front who knows where the back of the net is - until then it will be 1-0 results either way.
Nick has been confirmed as permanent Manager so good luck to the guy.

and 3 points from a trip to Reading

1st time we've beaten a top six side this season

takes us into 5th, with Boro slipping a bit a the moment ahead of us on goals scored (wouldn't be hard)

but Brum having a game in hand and two pints below us

of course that won't stop me glancing enviously at the 5th round drawer

You guys have a pretty good run coming up. You dont play any of the top five until Southampton on the 20th March, abiout 9 games.
Still picking WHU and Birmingham to go up if for no other reason than depth in squads.
Cardiff have to win a playoff soon after finishing 4th last two years.
I see Southampton have signed a new striker and have Lambert back. Chaplow is their key player thoguh and he is still out.
As for the mighty Hammers, well the Tevez rumours are still around and things are looking good for the Croatian striker coming from Rangers. We will know soon.

back to winning ways - 3 nil v bristol city

belated response uiron - yep your lot look to have things well sorted at present

Southampton's new striker, Billy Sharp, scored on debut in their recent win.
A welcome 3-0 win to us which could well seal Bristol City's fate eventually.
I agree with uiron that West Ham and Birmingham will go up automatically and Southampton and Cardiff will play-off imo.
We are far from ready for the EPL. We would need an entirely new team which we cannot afford. Not a bad defence and back line but our forwards are sadly lacking. Matty Fryatt has no first touch unfortunately, McLean puts in 110% effort but runs around like a chook with it's head cut off, King not ready and is yet to score at this level whilst Simpson couldn't pass wind let alone the ball.
Done well though this season so shouldn't complain.

well our defence has improved recently - it's 6 games since we conceded a goal in the league

but this improvement is matched by a slide down the table, we were 5th at one point in the run; now 8th

scoring a few goals might help!!

best defence in the league but only 4 teams have scored fewer goals than us!tigers2012-02-23 22:02:26

16 of our 31 league games so far have resulted in a 0-0 result or been decided by 1 goal.

just watching our match v blackpool http://www.lshunter.tv/streams/1/lshro5.html

from what i've seen, even if we do scramble back into play-offs and then win through, we would need to spend a huge amount of money to survive in the prem

much as you've said Oztiger

Yes, we pinched a point.
The thing is, after we scored the adrenalin was flowing and if anyone was going to score I felt it would be us.
Blackpool far superior to us and their first-choice strikers were both out so it gives an idea of the depth they have compared to ours.
Well done the lads for keeping it going.

but one game later back in the top 6

3-0 away at Cardiff - a result so good (and perhaps a tad surprising) that i had to leave my desk and go for a walk round the block so that the 3 people in the building who haven't yet decided I'm mad retain that view

and now we yo-yo back out of the top 6 places

still in touch but it might be a bit of a mission until we discover how to score goals more regularly
Permalink Permalink

We should nick a point at Leicester, win our next three against Portsmouth, Coventry and Millwall before losing to Boro.
We would then hopefully win our next three against Watford, Barnsley and Notts Forest before losing to the Hammers on our last game.
Should give us 77 points and a place in the Play-Offs BUT I do not think we will win the play-offs.

Worse!
Our best larkers are out - Koren and Hobbs, and we've nobody who can score goals.
Last 6: Won : 0
            Drawn : 1
            Lost : 5
            Goals For : 1
            Goals Against : 10

We are in deep sh!t!

8th place - not as good as February suggested

but - nice to finish above Brighton, Burnley and Leeds

hopefully we can hang on to our good youngsters and (less likely) offload our ex-prem wage-grabbers

I watched the game yesterday and thought that Josh King was way, way out of his depth. Brady and Stewart showed some talent but are working as individuals rather than team. We desperately need some 'dash' up front. Garcia's goal was brilliant but 3 inches off-side unfortunately - at least he showed he could find the empty space and finish the job off but I doubt he will be offered an extension to his contract. We'll probably see him in Perth next season.
Good effort to finish where we did but a lot of investment needed in the close season.

the Allams seem to have fucked things up - no one but them can see any need to have sacked him

Barmby has said he will appeal the sacking

players will leave because of the insecuirty and w/o barmby there to help keep them loyal
