No problems there...

I've all of a sudden become an avid Man City and Wigan fan
I wonder if these strange feelings will only last a week or maybe a bit longer, like the length of the off season?

Let's not get hasty and rush into these things... there are limits to ones support However, you're right about supporting anyone playing the ManU.

You'll need more than that

Just saw this on Soccernet:

MATCH STATS
                               Liverpool      Newcastle United
Shots (on Goal)      31(11)               5(0)

That tells me the Toons got off lightly...

Disturbingly for them, they actually looked better than they did against Spurs the other week where I'm not sure they got out of their own half in the first thirty minutes.

How's my driving? - Whine here

Anfield chant to Alan Shearer: "You should have stayed on the telly" and "Alan Shearer, football genius."

You Liverpool supporters are a joke. You can only win the EPL if United fall over. You are so biased,it is almost laughable. The same goes for all the fans of the other clubs( who are not good enough anyaway)that just don't want United to win.
Well I can join you and hope that once again Liverpool will have never won the EPL.

If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid

Pool fans is alonso ok after that tackle? Just saw it on the highlights show and thought it looked rather nasty, possible leg break even... any word?

From LFC webby:

Benitez told his post-match press conference: "Mascherano twisted his ankle and Xabi picked up a knock. "He (Alonso) has some bruising, but I think he will be okay in a few days."

Hardly a surprise now that Agger has signed a long term deal.

I was a little surprised that they let Jack Hobbs to go. Sounds like he was playing well for Leicester and would have been a good replacement for Sami.

Also see we are after Alvero Negredo from Almeria - although Real have a buy back clause which doesn't expire until the end of June which complicates things a bit

Newcastle are just awful. Horrible midfield too- Butt, Smith and Barton... Shearer did well to laugh off those great chants and stand up and take them! We hammered them. Alonso was unlucky not to score twice, and same with Gerrard. I really hope we dont sell Xabi. Babel...meh, he hasnt done too well for us anyhow, and I could see why he wants to leave.

Sami Hyypia...what a player. A true legend of this club. His most recent performance says it all- Old Trafford, after getting called into the squad 60 seconds before kick off. All the best, Sami, and I hope you come back for a coaching role later!

Good news about Agger too, I rate this guy and he's perfect for games like Newcastle at home. I think United are going to have to lose, or at least draw, against City if we're to have much chance of the League.

"Xabi is the main doubt for the weekend," Benitez told Liverpoolfc.tv.

Safe to say Xabi will be rested against the Hammers this week...

In bigger news!
Meanwhile, Torres is likely to travel with Spain to the Confederations Cup in South Africa next month, but Benitez is hopeful his star striker will have plenty of recuperation time during the summer.

Dayamn! Fantastic if he lines up against the All Whites

Sami deserves a testimonial, hopefully he gets one.

Not sure about Torres and Con feds. Like to see him line against All Whites (maybe he could get his goals up for Spain) but will need him to play more next season than he has this one. He needs a rest to get over hamstring injury and won't get one for a while with Euro, Con-feds, WC in consecutive summers.

Good win this morning. Stevie back on the scoreboard with a brace. I only saw the last 30 odd minutes and we didn't really look troubled at all. Just need City and Wigan to pull finger now...

Eh we were ok. West Ham were pretty annoyed with ref throughout. Boa Morte was chopped down by Mascherano and the ref didn't give a freekick, then after a throw in Boa Morte then pulled Torres shirt and he went down which was our penalty, it was a soft pen too. With personalities like Boa Morte and Neil they quickly surrounded the ref.

First goal was nice, great pass from Torres, a part of his game that hopefully he gets better at with more passes like that one.

was at the game yesterday - West Ham played ok, but no cutting edge up front.  The first goal so early knocked the stuffing out of us and meant pool could just cruise.  Kuyt was sh*t in the first half, but played well in the second, Gerrard and Torres were alright but nothing special (on the day - both obviously class players).  Best player on the pitch was Mark Noble.

All I do is make the stuff I would've liked
Reference things I wanna watch, reference girls I wanna bite
Now I'm firefly like a burning kite
And yousa fake fuck like a fleshlight

Good result from a game which was kind of just okay. Asd he said, the early goal helped us relax a lot. I dont think it was a penalty, but it was defo a foul by Masch. I cannot stand Neil. Some nice stuff from West Ham without creating a lot. And of course, a certain Italian's miss. Masch and Lucas played well. Noble was everywhere. Anyhow, a lot better of a result than last year!!

Alonso's on the rumour mill again. This time an apparent offer of $18m is to be made from Man City. Don't do it Rafa/Xabi!!

Quote from Rafa;

"But it is still very difficult when you analyse the financial power of Chelsea, United and Arsenal with the money they can spend."

He must be joking right? For starters im not quite sure why the gunners are even mentioned in that sentence... he may not have spent as much as chelsea/scum, but he's certainly spent enough to put a decent team on the pitch. Who were his major purchases last season? Keane, Dossena and Degen...? there's your financial problem right there rafa...

Im not saying those players are crap, I've seen some good stuff out of dossena and havent seen degen at all, but to spend over 30 million pounds on players who never even looked like getting a regular start?

Yeah Rafa has gone a little crazy with talking to the media in the last year or two. Prior to that he hardly spoke to press about other managers, never commented on other teams and players.

Wasn't 30 mil though, Degen was free and been injured, Dossena was around the 6m mark and Keane cost 19, then sold for 12m so a loss of 7m. I know what you are getting at, but I can also see what Benitez is saying about Chelski Manc situation.

Players like Anderson and Nani which both cost around the 15-18m each making only a handful of starts each. Both are said to be the future I know but at that price they should be playing more games. And Chelski have spent on too many to name.

Looks like we gonna have a Croat winger with a Pires goatee next season, hopefully he can be atleast half as good.

Anderson's first choice now, but admittedly Nani has been dissapointing for 17mill.

New away kit for next season:

I really liked the grey/silver shirt but this ain't too bad either.

That's sharp!

Didn't really like the silver/grey, it made the players look washed out. The green and black they used against the hammers looked good though.

Which is what he has done. The problem is that the rest of our squad cant step in and play well enough. Our first eleven can beat anyone on its day- but if it changes a bit, then it loses the intensity.

Henry was in the photo for the next arsenal away kit the year that he left..so i'd say possibly not!

when Henry left they photoshopped walcott in over Henry.

Nice one Stevie. A lil something to put in the Anfield pool room

I like the look of Silva, especially for $15m. I still believe we only need a couple of good signings for next season. Come on Xabi, just sign Rafa's contract!

Alonso is there because they picked the 6 guys from the squad for the photo shoot who sell the most shirts.

Ha, I actually liked Pepe's kits this year a lot. Silva, mmm, maybe a bit lightweight? I think the idea is right though, and it would be good to have another player in the Benayoun model! Depends how he adapts, if we get him of course.

 at Walcott and Henry!

Glad Stevie won that award, thoroughly deserved. I really REALLY hope we dont sell Xabi.

Ah, Wigan... Now its up to Arsenal! To win at Old Trafford. Lets face it, the way they talk about United (Bruce, Whelan etc) is a disgrace. Fine, acknowledge how great they are, but dont say it would be a shame to beat them! Disgrace.
