I miss the days when we used to beat Norwich by a margin of about 30. Suarez would score every ten seconds and in the second half we'd play with six men on the pitch and still keep a clean sheet. None of this 1-1 shark. Sigh.

Watching highlights as a complete neutral I didn't feel that the team was that far away. You could have dominated that with better finishing. The goal was a keeper error. Not sure about where Benteke fits though.

With Sturridge back and Ings, Lallana, Coutinho and Moreno in some form, well, it's been a strange premier league so far...pity about Henderson.

Not a bad assessment I suppose but we should be putting teams away at home and that's not happening. Coutinho needs to be the play maker more and shoot less, Lallana is not good enough IMO. Ings and Sturridge may prove to be a winning formula but Benteke was possibly off song with a hamstring issue.

FFS , 1-1 with 10 mins to go against Carlisle. Useless, inept, passionless bunch of Twits ( Ings , you're excused from that). AT least you have some energy. The rest of you bunch of overpaid cocks can just go get f...ed.

Rodgers, have the grace and decency to realise that this job is beyond you and piss off back to the tanning salon. ACtually , the job may be betond anyone at the moment. NMo wonder Ancelotti isnt keen ( allegedly)

Does Lovren and Skrtel shooting from 30 yards and ending up closer to corner flag than goal count as a shot?

Sorry to see any player hurt but Sakho may now get the run he deserves

Ings 7/ 10, Bogdan 7/10 simply for penalty saves

The rest 2-3/10. Just not good enough. Rodgers 1/10 and that's for getting dressed properly

Well played Carlisle!

Jeez win a cup match and you guys are all doom and gloom!

But seriously, this is just embarrassing. Give Ancelotti anything he asks for to move to Anfield.

Haha. Cup match, draw at full time, nothing in ET, win on penalties thanks to keeper heroics. It's Istanbul all over again! Wooooo!

Do we read anything into BR not fronting the press conference? Lovren out for two months too

Yep. The Caci clinic had a slot suddenly open up for a top up on the sunbed.

As above , don't like to see a player hurt but this may actually strengthen us at the back. Gives Sakho a spot which he should never had lost. Gomez as back up centre half.

Jr and I will be there , I hope.

Did anyone else see Rodgers wanking on about how he's the guy that nearly won the title, only better? For Christs sake, shut the fudge up. you're also the numpty who has spent several hundred million pounds , not won anything and presided over one of the  most disgraceful performances I can recall.

When you've actually won anything then you can carry on, until then you're a fool. And proving it every time you open your gob.

1 - 1 draw, at home, against FC Sion who are 5th placed in the 10 team Swiss Superleague.

What the hell LFC?!

Two guilt edged chances missed, one each for Lallana and Origi, plus an Ings offside goal. Would have won if it was for better finishing

Coupla interesting rumours.

1.Rodgers gone next week. I really really hope that's true

2. De Boer a candidate for the job. I really really hope that isn't true. It's about time FSG realised that appointing another manager who wants LFC on the CV is NOT going to improve what is fairly clearly a dire situation at the moment. FdB may turn out to be a decent manager ( as may Rodgers although I doubt it) but we don't need them to be learning the craft at Anfield. It is time for an  experienced man to start afresh , IMO ( yes , I know what a balls up Hodgson was). Having said that , perhaps a mid level manager is suitable for what is becoming a mid level club. Yes , I'm angry. Sion was another disgrace.

While I'm bloody pleased he is gone , I'm surprised by the timing. This decision wasn't based on the derby result; I think the decision had been made a while ago. Our view is that he should have gone in the summer for a couple of reasons- to allow a new manager the chance to get players in that they want and to stop him from wasting another 80M or so. Difficult now for whoever comes in to do a job . To use the monkey in a tree analogy , FSG have let go of the branch. I hope they have a good new branch to hang on to.

David Moyes and Martin O'Neill are usually top of the list in this game aren't they?

O'Neill used to be top of the LFC rumour lists, he hasn't been the top of many lists for sometime.

If true , Jr will be delighted. Me , less so.

Should we have waited for Abramasonofabitch to sack  Mou so we could have had a go at him? Seriously , I would have liked to explore Ancellotti or Simeone. Just hope we haven't appointed in a rush , if indeed we have.

He's 48, has a Supercup x 3, Bundesliga titles x 2, CL final, German Managet OTY x 2 and FIFA World Coach of the year x 1.

I'll take him.
