So unfortunate for Liverpool that the one time were probably going to win the league, it's probably just going to get awarded to them without the season being finished and by many never regarded as a proper title.

To be honest it's a relief that they're so far ahead that it will be impossible to dispute. Of course other teams' fans may give them shark about it but there's never been a bigger lead in the history of the premier league, so it's hard to dispute. If they were ahead by single digits it would be a different story.

I guess the biggest loss is not getting to play and watch the game to win the title etc and have the usual moments of jubilation.

Yep. If they do award it, the poor fans will forever be plagued by trolls "but actually you didnt win it" etc etc.

Actually I will probably be one of those trolls to be fair ;)

Article on 60 year anniversary of Dundee playing Liverpool, only time Bob & Bill Shankly managed against each other, with both teams on the verge of greatness. Says that Bill Shankly would've probably been Dundee manager at the time if his application didn't arrive late.

Have at it lads, have at it

For some reason the image of Sean Fitzpatrick crying and thumping the turf in 1996 comes to mind

Let Leicester and Liverpool be the inspiration. The oligarchs can be beaten.

Congradulations Liverpool fans. An amazing team and totally dominant season. Hope you you celebrate in style.

Well done. Must be some feeling. We're over half way to that, perhaps only another 14 years to go...

You could be Spurs...

Well done. Of course this season was fantastic from your POV, but the real work started when the club committed to Klopp's philosophy of football and the players he demanded.

Also LOL at Coutinho.

26 Jun 01:14

Well that's about the most magnanimous post I've seen from a ManU fan all day. Well done for showing some humility there legend20. Some of your fellow fans could learn a thing or two!

To be fair if it were Spurs I would really struggle...

I guess it helps that the Liverpool fans on this thread are a pretty good bunch.

26 Jun 01:15

Hasn't really sunk in yet to be honest, but it will! The long long wait is finally over, back on our fudgeing perch!

26 Jun 01:33

This year is our year.

Correction I'd make is that the real work actually began when the fans forced out the parasitic owners who sucked the life out of the club and destroyed everything it stood for, and stood back while they dropped out of the CL and slid down the table. All I hope is that one day in my lifetime Arsenal will do the same.

Which one of you was the fella with the young son who was right into Liverpool as well, and used to come on and post the boy's opinions etc? Interested to hear how happy that lad is right now.

That would be Jazzman!

Well done Liverpool. Let's be honest, you set the tone right up until Covid. Surely you could not have choked with that sort of lead. A fair result imho. Just a shame it all had to unfold on Spark. The only reason to Keep Sky Sport is the A League. Watching the other stuff jas been good but......

Liverpool have lost 9 games in their last 120 Premier League games

Thiago will be amazing for Liverpool. One of my favourite players in the last decade. Great signing.

Very good signing. Feels like just what Liverpool need, a shot in the arm to keep the level up I reckon.

Does that mean Wijnaldum will go to Barca as rumoured?

19 Sep 02:43

Very exciting 24 hours! The Jota signing seemingly came out of nowhere!

I read Paulm that the club were treating Gini and Thiago as two separate things, but yeah it has to increase the likelihood. Getting the deal done for Thiago first is a good piece of business though.

Very happy right now!

Calling it now - Liverpool will win at least one major trophy this year and Fabinho will win player of the season. He's got so much in his locker, those off-the-line clearances today, a few absolute worldies each season, what a player.

And Charity Shield runners up 2025/2026 despite spending over 300 Million Pounds.

Of which probably 2 Million would've saved Morecome for several seasons.

Liverpool and Wolves paid tribute to Diogo Jota on an emotional day at Anfield as his two former sides met for the first time since his death.

[…]

Dinis and Duarte, two of his three children, joined the matchday mascots on the pitch before their Premier League game on Saturday.

Jota's sons, along with other young family members, led the Liverpool team out of the tunnel, walking out ahead of captain Virgil van Dijk.

Jota's wife, Rute Cardoso, was also in attendance.
