Please leave the Downfall meme alone.  It's old and feeble.

Should be a few changes from last weekend for obvious reasons and he might be tempted to go with a team similar to his Champions League team. THis isn't necessarily the team I'd put out but I think it might be similar to what we actually see. But..... you never know with SAF.

                                De Gea

              Smalling Jones Vidic   Fabio

Valencia/Young   Cleverley   Giggs/Carrick    Park

                     Berbatov    Rooney

Young is only 50/50 at this stage but looks like he will play if he passes the fitness test. Evans shouldn't play for United again IMO and Rio dropped for sure. Think its time Evra had a week off as well tbh. nzmanu2011-10-29 14:22:18

I think that is close. Young has a injury. Just for work rate I would play Park.Rio and Evans should transfer.Have heard that Rio and Tevez to an Italian club.

Yep Roma was the team that want to take Rio and Tevez both on loan. We would be best to sell him. The MLS has also been linked to Rio. I could see him going to QPR to play with his bro.

Everton have had the better of the first half imo. A lot of shots strait to De Gea. Been a good game so far. Rooney in midfield is interesting, he's gone well so far, early on looked a little lost but has had some nice turns and touches since.

Fuck this stupid game

Good first half, but probably a bit lucky to get all the points.
The scousers are pathetic though, Rooney left 7 years ago and they still boo him. Get a f**king life.

Very happy with the three points from that one, great buildup and finish for the goal. Vidic was pretty immense, and Cleverley is just a quality little player. What a difference he made.

Second half wasn't pretty but we hung tough and got the win, our first at Goodison since 2007. Onwards and upwards!

That was a really, really frustrating watch. I think the players themselves were frustrated too. Jones and de Gea were the standouts. Not sure I like Rooney playing midfield either and hopefully its only temporary while Cleverley, Carrick, and Fletcher recover from their injuries.

Utd will have to spend big time for a class midfielder, which I reckon they will.Rooney could play anywhere. In the middle he is better than most of the others we have.
As he gets older he will move back to the midfield as he does have a very good football brain.

Agree NZMANU that CL was a very frustrating watch. Neither berbatov or hernandez dropped to receive back to goal in the middle of the pitch - meaning rooney was pinging to corners all night long - and neither nani or valencia are top of their game at moment. We miss Young! All our attack was down the wings - need Rooney in his no10 position in behind lead striker - Wellbeck perhaps on current form. Midfield is a worry but remember Anderson and Cleverly only very young. Thought Fletch played ok last time out. Please no Evans or Rio for Sunderland game! Hopefully da Silvas coming right.

This from AF.re Rooney
'He was our best player.
It was an option for us and a good option because he has all the qualities you need to be a central midfield player.'

team tonight?

Smalling/Jones Vidic Evans Evra

Nani Carrick Cleverley Valencia

Berbatov Rooney

Hopefully on his good form in the CL Fergy might finally go back to a Berba/Rooney partnership up front. Although I'm more inclined to think he will probably play Chicha or Welbeck

Smalling and Cleverley are injured.
Carrick is listed as missing with the Greater Manchester Police Force.
Rooney will be in midfield meaning 2 strikers from Berbasex, Chicho and Welbeck.

Turgid performance again from United v Sunderland. Given his abilities up front Rooney is wasted on the ball - we desperately need some thrust in the attacking third. SAF is totally wrong to be playing him in midfield - it's wasting Rooney's real talent AND not showing any trust in, or development of, current midfield players - either the older more experienced Fletch, Carrick, Park, Giggs or younger developing Anderson, Cleverley, da Silvas. Young's ongoing absence continues to show the current (and hopefully temporary) poor form of Nani and Valencia. Wellbeck's form looks better than Hernandez or berba at present (and I'm not liking what i see in attitude from either of them) - and Owen is hardly cover when he can't stay fit is he?

I think we are really lacking one midfielder of real quality. Mario Goetze at Dortmund looks a real gem of a player. Spend 20-25 mil on him either in January or in the summer and i'll be happy. Then our team will be looking pretty sexy in 3-4 years time:

                         de Gea

Rafael - Smalling   - Jones   -   Fabio

        Cleverley    Goetze     Anderson

       Rooney      Hernandez    Welbeck

In other news, word on the street in England and reports emerging announcing we've signed a 15 year old Brazilian kid from PSV. The name escapes me atm but apparently there's reason to be very very excited about this one.

Andreas Pereria is his name. Have seen all this hype before. I hope Anderson is not there, as I know he has had some good games, but I don't think he has the 'brains'

Gotze doesn't play CM I don't think? He plays on the wing. And the kid is absolutely amazing.

Good result, but not really life changing. Both teams only about 10 world rankings apart.
