Six games over 17 day period starting 20th October:

Stoke (H), Braga (H), Chelsea (A), Chelsea (A, League Cup), Arsenal (H), Braga (A)

Let's hope Smalling is back and no more injuries!

Heading to tomorrow's game with Paulinho. Cannot. Freaking. Wait.

Got to OT as a kid, but didn't get to a game. Really, really hoping for the three points to top off an awesome experience. In relity- I should just be hoping that we play good football after the recent rubbish!

Pity we can't defend as well as we can attack. Being 2-0 down  was almost unbelievable considering that we were much the better side.

Have to buy some quality defenders and then we can start to believe that this side can go places. Apart from conceding those goals i thought we played as well as I've seen this season.

Bringing on Giggs was just a joke. Sell him to someone that needs him-we don't. He contributes nothing.

Not sure if serious about Giggs? He will never be sold - he will retire at United.

24 Oct 10:08

Agree re needing better defenders. Rio is a fuckin turnstile at the very best these days. Very strong in the front five.

Fuck this stupid game

25 Oct 01:27

Yeah but the issues remain. SAF doesn't have enough central defensive cover, is unsure who the playmaking midfield combo should be, and he has no idea what forwards to play together or even what formation to play: "narrow diamond" with no wingers (which is costing us in attacking and defensive modes), or 442. Yet we have Nani, Young and Valenica in the squad!

This will surely be Giggs' last year. And Chopper's right - he won't go anywhere else.

Chelsea were superb coming back against Spurs on the weekend. Mata, Oscar and Hazard are the business (but Rob DM has given them the chance to play together regularly - unlike our midfield). Our team selection this week will be interesting.

Was not serious, just annoyed. I know he will retire at Utd, just wish it was this week.

No it will only happen at a season end.  One of the last SAF kids!

442 set up looked more comfortable all round. More width through the park with 2 natural wide players on board. Hernandez got away with one by the looks of it. Swings & roundabouts, eh?

Looks like the A league is not the only competition to have refs that make mistakes. He spoilt a game that could have been great.

No doubt about the first red, but the second yellow on Torres was harsh as Evans did seem to catch him.

Utd's defence is shocking and even with 9 players Chelsea managed to put pressure on our back four. The way Chelsea played today I'm sure that they will be in the top two at the end of the season.

Glad for the 3 points and am looking forward to Arsenal next week.

No real surprise that we were beaten today. Have not seen any highlights but have read a few articles. With the team we put out, to score 4 was a pretty good effort.

Would love to see us put another 8 against Arsenal this weekend but a 3 point result will do.

Really good game to watch. Our kids at the back were really solid until the 90th minute, where they gave away a couple of howlers. Nani's goal was all class, and Anderson had a MOM performance.

No surprise to have lost given the two teams that were fielded. Good to see no controversy, and a couple of ripping banners by United fans.

'Chelsea, standing up to racism since Sunday' and

'Clattenburg, Referee, Leader, Legend'

Flatmate got to head along, lucky bastard.

Hahaha, those two banners are pretty fantastic, thanks for sharing.

HAHAHAHA that is absolute quality

The only thing I really enjoyed about the game today was the three points. Utd were far too casual and were lucky that Arsenal did not have the ammunition to punish them. Should have scored at least five but also could have conceded a few more.  Carrick must be the worst passer of any midfield player in the EPL.  Considering Wilshere  has only played a few games in the last 18 months I thought he looked pretty good. His second yellow was just a tired effort and I did not think there was any malice in it. However his tackle on Cleverley was reckless.

AW should have subbed him. There were a few players that were lucky to still be on the pitch at the end.

All in all a pretty average game.

They have been average so far this season lets hope they start building some good defence and then get some  balls in the net.

Only saw the last 25 mins of the Braga game, but from what I have read Utd were rubbish until VP came on.

I thought Braga played really well in the first game and I hope they get through as I think they deserve to.

Because they thought they just had to turn up to get the points. They dominated most of the game, 61% possession, but until they were 2 down they really did not look like they were going to score. Taking off Young was the best thing that AF did. They hit the bar twice in a couple of min.
They sure made hard work of it.

A few years ago. But coming from Arse and City supporters is not quite the same.

wouldnt have any nix players in the side...

an all stars squad has never been done, would open up a whole new facet to the off season/ end of season

18 Nov 01:36

Not sure how we are still 2nd after that performance. As flat as I have seen them. The only exception was Scholes and he was a late sub.

Norwich not only played well they looked like they wanted to win. Soon as I saw the team I had a bad feeling. Giggs may have knocked in one or two good passes but with him in the side you are virtually playing with 10 players and as there are no mug sides you just can't afford that .

AF has only himself to blame as the for me the subs he made were crazy.

Could be back on top next week(for a short time) as Chelsea at home to City.

Insipid performance from players and management. Not much there I enjoyed watching. Good to see Smalling back on the park; but Carrick AND Giggs in central midfield - for 90 minutes? Fergie letting sentimentality get the better of him I reckon - thought it was a game where he could give him some game time but those games don't exist anymore. We were chasing the game (yet again, clearly something is not right when they walk on the pitch) and yet he takes off Ferdinand, Valencia and Hernandez and puts on Scholes, Anderson and Welbeck. If we're 1 nil down wouldn't you add Welbeck, Anderson and Cleverley and replace Giggs, Ferdinand and one of the wingers and drop Carrick to centre back? Yet 1 nil down we had Giggs, Scholes and Carrick trying to pull it back (that plan is at least 3 years out of date and probably more!). And, while I'm having a wee rant, can anyone tell me why RVP is taking corners - esp. when Giggs is playing? Flippin' eck. Fergie's losing it.

Bookies would have made a killing this weekend

3 of our midfielders for a combined age of 107? Urgh....

If we aren't going to play Cleverely or Anderson in games like this when are we?

19 Nov 08:49

Is it another mates game, their seems to be at least 1 a year!

Looks like you might get your wish in tomorrows game in Turkey.
7 of the squad I have never heard of.

Haven't seem Galatasaray game yet but seemed the young Turks (ours that is) put up a decent effort. Great. SAF's problem is that he should have played Giggs, Scholes, Carrick in this dead rubber game and Cleverley, Anderson, Powell in the Norwich game - 3 points up for stake in the league. He's got his 'soft' games all wrong at present.

I think the result was a fair one. Galatasaray played very well and the one thing they did do that we didn't was play at pace. Too many Utd players were too slow   and got caught in possession. They were fit , sharp and were quick to shut us down.
