Onana should have been sacked before the season started.

Queenslander 3x a year.

An OG and a 97th minute penalty? The SAF Time Keeping Watch has been resurrected? Play until United get a Pen or Score. Not a convincing result against Burnley of all teams.
Proud to have attended the first 175 Consecutive "Home" Wellington Phoenix "A League" Games !!

Nature is healing.

Should've been far more comfortable, created chance after chance (currently top equal on xG created this season), just cant finish to save their lives and conceded avoidable, scrappy goals through individual losses of concentration.

Did you watch it?

Of all the games under Amorim, United dominated and should've been 3 odd goals up in the first half. Probably should've had 5 or 6 by the end of it. Defensively fragile but going forward definitely convincing.

I'd still sack him though.

I have no idea how VAR thinks that first penalty decision is a clear and obvious error. Couldnt ignore that shirt pull on Amad though.

The shirt pull . I think he still went down rather easily.

Weird one. Last year they let things go. This season two pens in Sunderland Brentford for grappling in the box which every defender is doing in every game and this very soft one here.

This is an extremely cynical foul with no attempt whatsoever to play football. I wish professional fouls like this were delt with more harshly whether he goes down softly or not.

I'd more than happy to see more off this, and much less "his shoe lace grazed the other blokes shoelace (during a genuine attempt to tackle) so it's a foul"

How he goes down is irrelevant, thats as penalty as penalty gets.

It's the Mount one where it's weird for the VAR to get involved, those are normally upheld (whether the ref blew or not).

First goal was hilarious... the league's best defender ever (Virgil van Disney) goes looking for a cheap shot on Mbeumo, ends up doing his own team mate, follows up with a half hearted dangly leg challenge that would've been laughed at in a pub league, watches as Mbeumo sprints right past him, then glares at everyone else once it goes in.

Marking thin air on Maguires winner too. Certainly isnt the player he was a couple of years ago.

And to double down Carragher got on MNF and blamed Konate for not abandoning the players he was marking to cover VVD lmao.

Amorim-ball doesn't suit any of the players, and ensures our best players have the least space and least time on the ball of everyone.

We've looked better against better teams in spite of Amorim-ball, not because of it.

Tiresome.

Out of the FA Cup in a whimper. They have sacked the coach with no real plan of what to do next.

But a lot of fruitful middle management meetings were held during all recent managers tenures.

I loved how Liverpool interviewed him and decided it would be too difficult and expensive to overhaul the squad they had to adjust to his required style, so declined.

Wowee... 3 disallowed goals inches offside (although the VAR used wrong defender for one), hit the cross bar twice, and Donnarumma made some big saves...

This could have been a very embarrassing scoreline for the Legal Action FC.

Nice to get a solid win (not a smash and grab) and really nice to go 1-0 up and not immediately go into our shells and invite pressure.

Gunna do a good enough job they’ll Oli him?

Though if he hadn’t been saddled with Ronaldo that would have been an interesting team that season.

Watched some of this a day or two ago. Seems apt. I have to be honest, while upper management continue as they do I struggle to like United.
And I also disliked the petulant egos of the Ronaldo and Rooney era, compared to Brian McClair et al. Or Giggs, Scholes, Keane, Oli, Kanchelskis etc etc That and the highlights weren’t free on TV1 on the weekend so I didn’t see it as much.

But Dorgu’s contribution and effort is what you want to see from every pro. Game first and second. Improve yourself rather than criticise teammates or the ref. It’s a weird old time for football, but it’s a simple game at its core.

You guys look…good. What’s going on? I’m just grateful you ditched Amorim before City so we both suffered under this new found quality.

I just think football tactics have gotten way too complicated for their own good.

Step 1, play a style of football that switches the crowd on. This is different at different clubs. We had Amorim sitting there tweaking on the edges meanwhile the entire crowd is falling asleep because Harry Maguire has more ball at his feet than any of the attacking players.

Step 2, play the best players in their best positions and deal with the rest afterwards. Amorim's 3-5-2 didn't suit any of the centre backs, full backs / wingers, or centre mids.  Murmurs are coming from the camp as well that the players barely did any ball work in training, just stood around being lectured on positioning.

It's only after you get the first two right that the tactical genius comes in any use, to eek out the last few percentage points of performance.

I wonder how much incentive it is for opposition players and added weight on Man Utd players?

I doubt any player actually gives a fudge, it's just a meme really.

The number of times players respond to external comments (earlier this season James Maddison responding to criticism from Roy Keane for instance) suggests that West Ham players could have totally (not saying they did) put a picture of The United Strand up in the dressing room. Carrick even had to address it in the pre match interview.

This set of players has shown time and time again that as soon as there's any level of expectation on them, they can't get across the line. Given that I'm not surprised old mates haircut was too much for them 😂😂

Honestly though such as silly side show. And more than happy with 13 outta 15 points from the previous run.

Baffling how this mop head bloke is so popular. Playing in to his hands giving him all this attention.

You have a fan of one of the most popular teams, playing the most popular sport - and he is a constant reminder of how shark they've been in recent seasons. So both fans of opposition teams love to see the days go on, and fans of United fans would love for him to get a haircut. He's a meme for this moment of United. And possibly the success is also he seems a decent bloke - brand approved.
