Just to save time name your top 2 (automatic Champs league spots) and your bottom 3 for relegation. If you can be bothered name the next two for Champs league and then three more for Europe!.
Here is mine:

3- The Arse
4- Chelski
------------
5- Man City
6- Tottenham
7- Pompey

Pretty hard to make predictions this year.
Man U are in trouble with Ron injured for the first two months and unless they do strengthen (striker, right back, cb cover) I can't see them winning again. Chelsea look to have recruited well, and should they add Robinho (likely) or Kaka (slim chance) they will have a very strong team right with all bases well covered.

Arsenal actually have a shot this year as well in my opinion, provided they can keep key players (RVP, center backs, Rosicky, Sagna, Cesc) fit and that the youngsters continue to perform. The signing of a new DM is important as well and whoever they bring in will have a lot to live up to after Flamini's performances last year.

Liverpool, well, I don't think they can do it with Rafa at the helm, he doesn't have a clue about his best XI and some of his recruitment is insane. Pennant, Kuyt, Barry (for Alsonso, what was he thinking! lucky the Yanks pulled the plug) the list goes on. They will be closer to 3rd than last year but I can't see them being serious contenders.

The 5th - 9th places are really, really hard to call. Everton are the incumbents but have actually gotten weaker, their already small squad has lost several members. Much depends on the quality of signings they can bring in before the dealine. Moutinho would be fantastic but I can't see him coming somehow. Tottenham, well they seem to have done some pretty good business in my eyes, especially because I think they will retain Berbatov. I also rate Ramos as a manager and think they will be ok. City are the toughest side to predict as I think Pompey and Villa are solid and will be there or thereabouts. If rumors are true and Thaksin is about to get into more hot water they may even be forced to sell some players (Corluka for example) before the season begins. Should they have a meltdown they could slip down the table, especially if Jo and the other forwards  don't fire.

As for relegation I'd say Stoke and Hull will certainly go down, but I'm not sure about that 3rd spot. Bolton look vulnerable but I suspect the Elmander signing might actually come off for them and he may score enough goals to keep them up. They are a tough, scrappy side who should have the right sort of tools to survive a relegation dogfight. Wigan have been hovering about those places for the last couple years and I think this could be the season where they finally slip, especially as I think Fulham and Middlesbrough have improved and should be ok to stay up.

The other X-factor team is Newcastle. Should all that attacking talent come off under King-Kev I think they could displace some of the other top half sides like Everton, City or Villa if they have meltdowns/injuries/signing issues.Probably not but you just never know with Keegan in charge.

Should be an exciting season, I hope Arsenal win and somebody gives Liverpool a run for 4th. Hard to see that happening but wouldn't it be nice if the top 4 didn't have it so easy this year :(

I don't see why City can't make it to the top 10? They have arguably a better (at least for the EPL) manager this year in Hughes who has consistantly overachieved with Blackburn, a side with far less resources than City. They have a strong defensive lineup (Richards, Dunne, Corluka, Onuoha) that is as good as any outside the top 4, although admittedly they are weak at LB. They have some quality players in midfield, and plently of talent on the wings as well (Johnson, Hamman, Elano, Ireland, Petrov). Only question marks are over the strikeforce really, and Jo could do well for them there. Bojinov's return is like a new signing and talented youngsters like Evans and Sturridge can also be expected to compete for a place in the first team as well this year.

As I said in my early post, the only thing that should stop them from having a strong season is a Thaksin induced implosion resulting in instability, player sales, withdrawel of funds, sackings and the like.

So the thinking is then that the implosion is unlikely?

Plus, KTBW, in your list of what may result from any implosion I'd like to add - deduction of points

I'm going for a Chelsea title, with Liverpool finishing fifth and Benitez finishing unemployed.
Top four in order; Chelsea, Arsenal, Man Utd, Villa.
Going down, Notlob, WBA and Stoke.
And Orient to go up this year to the Championship via the play-offs , a solid start on last Saturday with a 2-1 win at home to Hereford has me confident. Again.
Nix, Leyton Orient and Alloa Athletic supporting schmuck.

Tottenham looking good enough in my books, solid side with more strength across the back this year won't concede as many goals, will still score a bucket load with added creativity and silk in the middle. bent will score 20+ this term. all looking rosy:D
it just looks like deja vu for the gunners for me, get rid of hleb and get nasri (=players at best)
get rid of flamini and get ramsey and wilshere coming in
it just doesn't make sense, didnt have the depth last year, won't have it again.

We've heard it all before. Mid-table mediocrity beckons for you (again).

haha yeah, spurs will stay mid table out of habit...

i'm picking arsenal to lead until the new year, when they will again implode with a couple of injuries, the lack of experience will again show and they'll fall to 3rd, with man u and chelsea scarpping it out behind them, with man u taking the title again. top 4 will stay the same

Man U
Chelski
Arsenal
Liverpool (crap but good enough to stay top 4, cant see anyone challenging)

last 3:
Fulham
stoke
hull

brom i'm picking to secure premier league status on the last day, man u probably winning on the last day.

Nice to see the Arsenal boys with their usual insightful analysis and sense of modesty.  Is there an Arse fan who hasn't picked them to finish top?  You're nothing if not optimistic in the face of common sense and public opinion I'll say that for you.

Because you're not good enough.  Your squad lacks experience, consistency and staying power and some of your best players have left and not really been replaced yet.  A couple of injuries and you're screwed.  I apologise if that's the "same tired anti-Arsenal line" but what have you won in the last four years?  Until Arsene gets down off his moral high horse and starts spending some money on quality, proven winners you are only going to be there or thereabouts.  No one has any doubts about Arsenal's ability to play great football on their day.  In a year or two Arsenal could be serious challengers but you seem to be struggling to keep hold of what you have at the moment and bringing in Man U fringe players won't help.  So sorry boys, I really don't see you winning it this year.

Do I think Chelsea will win the league?  50/50 really.  We all know it's going to be Chelsea or Man U, Liverpool very possibly.  I think the Carling or FA Cups are probably all you have to look forward to for a year or two.  I suspect most people would agree with that point of view and seem to be expressing it here.  But blind loyalty without seeing the bigger picture or respecting other team's qualities is just tiresome and boorish.  I admit I have been giving you guys some stick recently - and that's exactly why.  You're worse than Cantabrians sometimes.

Meh we came within 4 points last season, with a pretty horrific injury run. Some good players have gone, some good players have come.

So MY PREDICTION is that Arsenal can and will win the league. I hope it doesn't upset you too much Jose's Dog.

Because I am blindly optimistic. So sue me.

We might be written off by all and sundry as usual, but we are capable of winning the league. It's just a case of whether or not we can fulfil that potential.

When we won the double in 97/98 nobody predicted it, what's to say that won't happen again?

2 years ago everyone said ManU was on the slide, that they didn't have the squad to push for the title, and they've won two in a row since then.

May be biased, but I think United will win the title for the third year straight, not only do we have a strong squad but instead of the 'Big 4', I see United and Chelsea the only two real challengers for it. Liverpool are an average team with Gerrard and Torres chucked in, Arsenal I think play nice football but I can't see how they've improved from last season. Both might struggle to stay in the 4, if another team can keep up. Better not be City.

I was gonna make a list but I can't be bothered, and who's gonna scroll through them at the end of the season to compare who got closest?
