Footballer signed for 90m in order to sell noodles

Well, one can hardly buy 90m worth of noodles to sell football now can they?

Red devil noodles?

That's so true, and those that didn't win anything just didn't spend enough.

Two scum fans there, both missing the point of that tweet completely. Sums up their fan base to a tee.

So Jose is a hypocrite - no big fudgeing deal, no reason to be a douche ... just pointing out the correlation between spend and success - which you are happy to be sucked into praying for Arsene to open his wallet and spend the 'war chest' which you are happy to contribute to as a cash cow fan.

Word is Joe Hart is off.

Where's he going? Hopefully not in the Premier League. His tunnel screaming is terrible.

He'll be at Everton before the transfer window shuts.

  • Jonas Hector still on the LFC radar as they desperately seek a LB due to Moreno being less useful in that position than a lampost.

I can't believe Lucas is still at 'Pool.

Why?

It seems like he's been ready to leave for about 3 years.

I think he's a decent player; just saying that it's suprising that he hasn't left yet.

Liverpool have rejected a 30.5 mill bid for Christian Benteke from Crystal Palace because "the fee was dependent on Palace qualifying for the Champions league".

Making presumptions about the fan base based on one comment is weak.

Surely most Arsenal fans believe that if they spent a bit more (maybe not as much as Mourinho / Guardiola have in their various clubs) they would have performed better and maybe won more.

In the current UK market, Benteke is worth what we paid for him. He's a very good Prem level player, just not for the style we play and why BR purchased him is beyond me. If Bolaise is worth 30m, then Benteke is worth at least the 32.5m we got him for.

UK prices and wages are inflated due to the new TV deal - every team has cash to burn (yes, you too Arsenal). If our only offers were from offshore then yup, 25m may be the upper limit but he is a proven PL performer.

Benteke gets more shark than he deserves. Basically a goal every 2 games in a garbage Villa side, then a goal every 3 games at Liverpool despite a lot of those games being as a sub so getting less minutes. Agree he's not suited to Liverpool but would fit in well at a lot of PL teams. He's got a better goals to games ratio in the PL than Lukaku for instance (who admittedly is younger so still has room to develop more)

He's missed a total of 31 games due to injury in the past 2 seasons so he's far from injury free but would probably be mid-table on the injuries league (total guess).

He's currently fit with no recorded or reported issues.

He got fudge all playing time at Palace last season. He went from captain playing every match in 2014–15 to a bench player in 2015–16. Good move for him actually.

Palace actually get him for 27.5 plus 5 in add-ons - should those add-ones be met, Liverpool take no loss on him.

Good on Palace tbh. They wanted a striker, identified one who has had previous success at a similar tier of club within the PL and paid the money. No reason to think he can't be a success. Wouldn't be the first player to do well at the Villa sort of tier, then gone to one of the traditional big clubs and it hasn't worked out then gone back to a similar level as before and done well again. Think they've struck gold actually. This is a guy who scored 23 goals in a pretty poor Villa team only a few seasons ago and he's only 25. 27 million seems pretty good for a striker with a good PL track record in today's market.

Absolutely. His reputation has been trashed after liverpool which is a joke really, he wasn't actually that bad, still got goals, just didn't suit the style as Leighbo said.

He should suit Pardew down to a tee.

If Palace can get some good wingers Benteke is going to be awesome this year. Townsend is going to have a good year I reckon.

You will see few Liverpool fans trash him either, most realise that he just wasn't the right fit for us.

This is kind of transfer stuff...

The takeover or rather, "investment" rumors are back at LFC and this time, in overdrive!

The group in question is China Everbright and they are willing to pay FSG 800m for a club they purchased for about 300m (from memory). Of course, FSG have sunk more than that into the club but would still see a significant return on investment. However, it at first appears that FSG do not want to sell up and China Everbright are willing to get involved as a minority shareholder with a view to taking over the club in the distant future.

China Everbright is state sponsored so has almost unlimited wealth. While their current total assets sit at about 7.0B, they will also be in partnership with China Investment Corporation that has over 813B in assets and last year alone, reported 74B of net income! To put that in context, Man City's owners are worth about 20B
