Bernard to have medical on Friday? He's seems great but would have thought dmf or striker would be first

Slightly off topic but I'd like your guys opinion. I'm going to London next month and trying to get tickets to Arsenal games which may or may not be successful. The under 21's though have a game at the Emirates while I'm there and I don't imagine getting a ticket for that will be difficult.
Should I go?

Whats everyones take on Ashley Williams, although he plays in the premier league I haven't taken enough notice of him to form an opinion one way or the other.

Yay or nay to Williams and why?

It seems to be a constant story/non event

Whats in it for Williams? I imagine he'd be behind Kos, Per, Verm, Sagna so being 5th choice CB can't be that appealing? Unless we're planning on bringing one of those CB's into DMF, or we're loosing one of those CB's.

Conspiracy - Verm as a make weight to either RM for Higuain or Barca for Cesc.

He does seem pretty solid but 10milli for a 4th choice is pretty bad business, i quiet rate miguel personally

So would I. Miyaichi, Zelalem, Gnabry, Ollssen, Bellerin, Eisfeld - these guys are talented. Also the U21 team can carry 2 (I think) over-age players at any time - if you get lucky we might have someone big coming back from injury or something who gets a run.

On Williams, things are starting to get tight at the back. Miquel may be needed at LB with Monreal and Vermaelen both out - Gibbs is all we've got there for the next couple of months at least by the sound of it. Sagna played CB last night with Koscielny's ankle injury. We probably need a CB in pretty quick. Not sure  if Williams is the right choice - 10mil sounds cheap but CBs dont usually go for big prices. Although someone made a good point - who would want to be behind our top 3? I rate all of kosc/sack/tv, so i guess anyone competent right now would be fine. I'd have been happy for djourou to stay but sounds like it was his decision to leave.

Sounds like the suarez thing is very serious. We may actually end up with this guy. He's flown out to australia but you can tell by rodgers comments they're willing to sell - as long as they get a bid high enough.
I can't comprehend having this guy in our team. I mean he's quality, no doubt, but he's just such a f*****g c**t.

Thanks. You probably just sealed it for me with that comment. Also, hopefully I should get to sit where I like.

I hope we keep Zelalem in the U21's for this year (maybe the odd Cap Cup appearance) and don't send him out on loan. Save that for next year... he certainly looks the goods but it's very early days!

Spurs are on the verge of signing Soldado and we still have nothing. Worrying signs. I honestly think the Spuds could leap-frog us this year.

Sounds like Higuain is going to Napoli - and Real will use the cash to get Suarez.

That's my thought too. Makes sense for Real and the Argies obviously have a great affinity for Napoli.

I think we're his preferred target, but if this all flops we need to re-look at our transfer negotiations team, or whoever leads on this, because we've been shafted.

Bahaha!!  Have you not seen that shambles of a club go through a season making grand predictions and then fekking it up time and again?!

If we came dead last in the EPL they would come up with a way to finish 21st.  It's just what they do my friend!  And me oh my, they do it so well!

If they spent less time worrying about what their more illustrious neighbour is doing and more on seeing that they've got their bases covered they would've overtaken us 2-3 years ago.  Couldn't imagine what being a Spud fan is like (except that I would probably shower less often and wouldn't be at all successful with the fairer sex).  Bring back Juande Ramos!  Leg-end!

Up the Arse!

How old is Leggy?  Is he 12 or 72?

Given the option of either right now, I'd take Giroud. Hands down.

All these bloody injuries to defenders mean the budget we do have is likely to move from the front end to the defensive end pretty sharply!

The talk has been how we need to get off to a good start, well we risk that having bugger all coverage to the back four.

Dzeko could be a good fall back option. Proven Prem striker with a point to prove against City, big man who can use his feet, good competition/partner for Giroud.

Champions league 2nd leg games being played at the moment. Does that mean the draw for our play off round will be made soon?

I was thinking this too - there's a good Sarah Winterburn piece on F365 suggesting it too.
If Higuain and everyone else fall through, it'd be a good option.

There's also a bit of winger talk around at the moment - sounds like we're trying to upgrade on Gervinho by selling him to Roma, and sniffing around Bernard out of Brazil, or Eduardo Salvio - an argentine playing for benfica.

Interesting stuff, again a position I would've thought we're ok in - even with the sale of Gervinho. We've got Poldi, Theo, Ox, Miyaichi and Gnabry. Plus Rosicky can Cazorla can play out there - last season ended with Cazorla as our first choice wide left.

Strikers/wingers surely should be prioritised after CB's/DMF's?

It must be, but surely if they want more than 40m they might finally go back to the RM table?
