You could argue that Liverpool also failed to strengthen...

OK a few observations.

I felt like their first goal was offside, and Sturridges goal came from a Suarez foul on Ozil/Monreal (can't remember which it was).

Disgruntled factor aside, we didn't deserve to win so these are moot points.

Mertesacker offered very little all game. He was awful. Koscielny in the air was responsible for Agger's 2nd, he should have Agger in his pocket. Sagna was also out of position all game, and the Ox didn't do enough to help.

Our midfield offered very little in terms of combativeness and smart movement. Liverpool continually overpressed us and we couldn't move the ball quickly or intelligently enough. Arteta was fighting a loosing battle with Ozil providing no support and Wilshere just getting pissy.

In the final 3rd we couldn't offer a decent touch. We couldn't provide any intelligent moves nor could we break at pace to catch them out.

Wenger out is a bit extreme, but on such games are such seasons determined.

wow

hit hard from the opening minute

huge performance from liverpool

some absolute gash performances from our lads, the mental damage to the younger players could be catastrophic, we'll need the older guys to stand up and get it done against ManU midweek

We've been touched up at manC, liverpool, and even at a poor manU this season, need to sort out our big away game mindset

Congrats Jazzman you've learned how to insert photos in post. Shall we include the league table? Or perhaps list of previous champions league qualifiers from England?

Permalink Permalink
about 12 years ago · edited about 5 years ago · History

Gibbs will be the LB in Wednesday's game and Flamini will start when his suspension ends

I would give Ozil a spell and play Cazorla behind Giroud with the Ox and Podolski out wide

The next 2 - 3 games will fully decide where this is all heading

Apologies Brumbys. I wasn't aware that photo posting rights ( as a bit of fun) were exclusive to Arsenal fans. That certainly explains that poster " Arsenal" popping up from time to time on our sub forum with photos. I had to have a LOL at his one of Toure a week ago. While you're adding your lists , think about previous Euro champs, previous league titles etc. Oh , and while you're at it ,go and get a sense of humor.

Lol. So when Arsenal does it, it's trolling. When you do it, we need a sense of humour.

Good logic. Have fun finishing below us again.

Three for me, and two for them.

hey turn around is fair play

any Liverpool fan can have a laugh at us this week, they won, and well.

don't get involved in cheap shots if you can't take the return.

I had us to lose today then win the next 3... so if there is any consolation I might make some coin.

No offense meant. Seriously.

I had thought it was a bit of fun; meant as such so if any offense taken , it really wasn't intentional.

ANd yes , if we don't finish top 4 , Suarez will leave but a wee way to go yet.  And I for one don't give a rats arse about the FA cup. We haven't got enough depth to compete strongly in 2 competitions  ; would rather finish 4th than win the cup.

Cheers and , again, not out to intentionally offend.

Holy cow. I shall start using emoticons.

Jazzman my response was meant to be a better and sarcastic witty come back in response to said joke. I believe one of these might have helped the situation:

 ;-P

Handbags away, you pantsed us and we put up zero fight.

Please continue with the joking.

Brumbys massively overcompensates for offence caused by using the internationally recognised emoticon for 'dtf'. Lol

Toooooo shayyyyyyyy Fitzy

For the United option will Rambo be back? I'd be looking for a similar line up, maybe swap Rosicky in for Wilshere, and Gibbs in for Monreal?

So hard to tell.

Wouldn't be suprised if Wenger sent the same 11 out with a rocket in their backsides to prove their worth.

Did anyone else notice Vermalens out currently? Down to 2 fit CB's with Sagna for cover...disaster waiting to happen.

Nope, players like Rooney and RvP will make this one proper squeaky bum time for Gooners. Naturally in the weeks ahead they'll see ManU losses to the likes of Norwich or Sunnerlin but they'll get up for this game!!  Every feckin' time...

Get a back bone Arsenal.

Based on that last game I'd start:

              Szy

Sagna Merte Kosc Gibbs

       Arteta   Wilshere

Cazorla      Ozil        Podolski

              Giroud

The Ox/Rosicky should get on early in the 2nd half if there isn't enough energy coming from midfield, and of either of those front 4 aren't firing.

Did anyone else feel that Jack was at risk of loosing the plot on the weekend and getting a red?

If you haven't yet check out the latest post match analysis vid Adrian Clark (correct?) fronts. Some really good insights and observations, the one that stood out was when Ozil gave the ball away for the goal the only 2 players behind him were Kos and Per. Both full backs were so far up the pitch they were taken out of the game. Given Ozil was on the left half of the pitch Nacho gets a small reprieve but Sagna was just not thinking!

Interesting as well it should a heat map of where each players average position was, Gerrard was just about on top of their 2 centre backs, and everyone bar their front 3 was in their own half. They sat back, pressed, and struck when we got too far forward!

After that result, we can get battered 5-1 and then beat the Mancs to get back to the top within a week. Not deserving but I'll take it.

Rosicky in for Wilshere for me.
