I'm quietly confident about Bayern. So quietly confident that I won't mention it again.

We're in a battle for 3rd/4th with spurs/chelsea, one of us will miss out on a spot. Chelsea have one more point than spurs and they're more inconsistent than us if that's even possible, there's no way they're cut and dry for the top 3 by any stretch.
Anyone's game. North London derby on Mar 4 will be massive, I'm already nervous about that one.

man lots of anti wenger stuff all over the place, i must say im a huge wenger fan. The team he put out in th weekend should have done the job without a doubt, diaby was the biggest let down in that game for me....rambo ahead of diaby in the pecking order for me at the moment. Hopefully ox can snap out of his 2nd year downer soon. i dont think we need to spend a insane amount to get the squad going again but we also need to get rid of the dead wood as well. I allways though vinho would come good but its doesnt look like it will arrrrrh anyways i'll be screaming for gunners come tomorrow morning

Agree with every word, except there's one missing at the end. I think you forgot to type 'c*nt' before you clicked save

Morgan is a professional troll, which has apparently become a legitimate and highly profitable career in today's world. Didn't he used to be the editor of the Sun or the Daily Mail or something? Says it all. He talks like a walking tabloid headline.

Piers Morgan is a massively over-dramatic bell end.

The fact he tries to represent Arsenal fans on the whole is retarded to put it lightly.

No Monreal or Gibbs tomorrow. Some doubt over Koscielny. Backline could be anyone's guess - some saying TV5 at LB and Sagna at CB.

If Kosc is fit maybe leave Jenkinson out? he is young for a fixture this size

Perhaps:

                          Szczesny

Sagna - Mertesacker - Koscielny - Vermaelen

                     Arteta - Wilshere

            Walcott - Cazorla - Podolski

                             Giroud

Ramsey may even push Arteta for his spot given his recent performances in that position, Mikel did play 90 mins midweek...

Poor.  Making Bayern look like they've got 12/13 players out on the pitch.

Can not conceivably see this club recovering from the doldrums in at least the next 5 years.  All the promise from moving to the Emirates in 2007 has been systematically ground to dust in the 5/6 seasons since.

We need change. And changing gaffer won't solve/change anything if they're working in the same environment.

I'm not saying Wenger should necessarily stay - but there's no point bringing in someone less able/experienced under the same regime and expecting better outcomes.

wow when the chips are down eh - the luck around their first and third goals made me want to rip my eyes out

Seriously, if there is a god, that 'cross' falling to kroos and that ball looping in when it could've gone anywhere, that was just harsh man. None of the goals in the game were things of beauty at all, it's not like bayern were tearing us a new one all day, they were just clinical when they got the chances, had that bit of luck, and were rather good defensively (although we were the first ones to score against them since Dec 14). You could tell they carried themselves like a team at the very top of their game too. After the first goal I thought it was going to be worse than it is.

In that first 30 minutes Bayern looked phenomenal. It was like playing barca trying to get the ball out of our own half, and when we did, it was like they had an extra man in their half too! Definitely the second best club after Barca right now for me.

Once we got into it properly I felt like we were matching them, at 2-1 I felt a 3-2 win was possible.

The 50/50 challenges were meaty in that game, our boys were massively committed, still proud of them despite the result - in fact it may seem odd in a 3-1 loss but I find it hard to pick out any really poor performances from our lads.

Thought it was a mistake from Arsene to make the double sub at that particular time. Poldi was killing them down the left and he got hooked. I realise there was red card danger with him already on a yellow and getting tetchy with robben, but I would've taken the gamble and kept  pushing it. After the subs our heart rates dropped, the crowd went quiet, we just lost that impetus. Granted there was the giroud chance, which had he taken would've changed everything, but still, why make those subs right then?

It's a pity gibbs is injured, think he would've torn lahm to bits in that game - TV5 had his number on attack and was out-pacing him regularly.

By 2018 probably all of podolski, diaby, arteta, cazorla, vermaelen, sagna, rosicky, giroud, mertesacker and koscielny will be gone or at least  winding down. That's a lot of good players that need to be replaced with better ones.

I think once we peer through the gloom we'll see that the immediate  future, as always, appears bright for us. Realising that potential, however, is not something we've been able to do for a while now...

Next season we stand to have the most stable squad we've had since 2005. Recovery could be sooner than we think... I hope!

I'd just like to get through a match commentary where they don't mention our trophyless run since 2005. Its like a few years back where they always used to say how many players had been sent off during the Wenger reign. Started to get very boring.

As soon as I heard steve nicol's f*cking voice I was spewing. He hates us, loves ripping in to Arsene and anyone involved with our club. Nearly as bad as Tony Gale.

Nicol spent one of our FA Cup games this season bagging Giroud for 90 mins, while he was busy putting in a MOM performance with 2 goals and an assist (I think, from memory), and Nicol didnt change his tune once.

Heard him say again today that Giroud has been a 'flop'. Does this guy watch games or just come up with pre-conceived ideas and stick to them?

regardless of game this morning, something has to change with the way we defend. Kons form has dropped so badly since last season ,TV5 just isnt "that" player anymore and Sackers form is like a yoyo. Another thing i notice is that we actually lack pace apart from theo and ox we dont have anyone quick.

for ME personally players required for next season

1x DMF

1 or 2X Wingers

1x Striker

Get rid of, arshvin,Dj,chamakroon,bendtner

Possible to get rid of, Vinho and Diaby.......Diaby is far too injured and overrated in my opinion and as much as i would love it for vinho to come right i dont think he will

Anyone know whats the story with Miyachi??

27.

Disappointed with that. I can't believe that he didn't start Giroud.

3rd is the target, it's every man and his dog for that position. I'm still a believer in Wenger, but I don't see him surviving the season if we don't make Champions League qualification. If we do make C/L then he needs to do the clear out of players we've been asking for, and invest in some fresh talent.

Alternatively I'd like to see him giving Coquellin or Frimpong an extended run in the DMF position, actually bring some players in who can get stuck in...it's not Rambo or Arteta's game style. Heck I'd even adjust the style and go to a 4-2-3-1 and give the front 4 the freedom to push and rotate as they need to, and the 2 DMF's the desire to protect the back 4.

This is a great piece, aside from the bizarre error around his prem table comments - he's obviously looking at a table from 5 games ago which is a bit odd...

So right about the Mancini comments, why is it that he escapes press beatings?

Good grief, Sagna now has a knee problem and gibbs is apparently still 'a few weeks away'.

Monreal and Jenkinson will need to stay fit and play well, or we're fooked. Injuries to fullbacks cost us a lot of points last season, this is not good timing.

Seems to be a constant problem, even with 4 quality full backs now!
