Fantastic result.

Three for me, and two for them.

Great result this morning, I thought Koscielny was our best closely followed by Cech. Great to see a change in the way we play, the win reinforces the frustration with Wenger though! Regardless, one to saviour like the home win against Barcelona.

Still a long way to go but if Zagreb beat Olympiacos next week and we beat Bayern, all four teams will be on 6 points. I still think we need 7 points from the next 3 games.

For me we still need to win all 3 remaining games. If we can beat Bayern then we should definitely be beating Zagreb & Olympiakos. Also Giroud was courageous putting his head in like that, Neur looked certain to knee him in the face, and I'm sure Ozil would have been proud of Bellerin for the assist. I also like that we have the extra officials to help call that goal, would have hurt had it not been given.

Was going to argue this, but it's not the day for that ;)

I can imagine your reaction

Then on that point we are in agreement, we can leave that discussion for another weekday when we are not enjoying a 2-0 home win over the best team in Europe :)

Do Barcelona not play anymore?

Three for me, and two for them.

More realistically:

-We lose at Bayern.

-Olympiacos beats Zagreb at home.

-Bayern takes maximum points from Olympiacos and Zagreb.

-We beat Zagreb at the Emirates.

-It all comes down to us winning at Olympiacos by a better score than 3-2.

As we've seen in this comp though, anything can happen!

Recorded the game while at work, avoided the result then was out for dinner last night so didn't get to see it until late last night. Great win and gives us a chance to get through. I still can't believe Chelsea let us have Cech. Easily still in probably the top 5 in the world and certainly the best in the league this season.

Astonishing save from Neuer too. Talking about the best ever goals, a common theme is looking at things that have never been repeated. Seaman against Sheffield United is still the best save I've seen but this is the only other one I've seen that's kind of similar.

The Neuer save doesn't look that great in slow motion, it has to be real time to see how magnificent it was. The speed in which he got across, and the strength of hand, just ridiculous. A work colleague said yesterday it reminded him of a great slip catch, which I think describes it quite well. Just the speed to get down and stretch like that, with so little time, just phenomenal.

Great link for the seaman save ajc, that was just mental, could watch it over and over.

Are you talking about how Bayern are way better than the rest, or how Spurs are way worse than the rest?

Either way fair call LOL

Roma drew 4-4 yesterday with Szczęsny in goal and we have Petr fudgeing Cech!

Also Wenger is the first manager to beat both Guardiola's Barcelona and Bayern.

Pep better clean up his act if he wants a crack at the Arsenal job when Wenger retires then.

Two games in a row Giroud has come on and scored, I deeply appreciate the mental strength it must take to go from starting striker to sub & still come on and perform.

The prospect of a hundred grand plus a week for the next five years or so would add to that greatly.

Who starts instead of Rambo now? Do you put Walcott out wide and giroud up top? Or a straight swap for the ox? I think I'd prefer the ox coming in and keeping wally up top. We would have pace to burn then!

Ox right now.

But the balance of the side has been working so well that I'd prefer Wilshere there if he were available

I wonder if Sanchez will finally be rested this weekend

Cech now 3rd for all time CL clean sheets, 6 behind Casillas and 5 behind Van der Sar. 2nd for all time Premier League clean sheets, just 2 behind David James so barring major injury that record should be his this season.

If he scores he might turn into Alex Song and think he's an attacking mid.

Interesting game that. We were fairly dominant without a cutting edge until suddenly we scored 2 in 2 minutes. Thought we would cruise then until that deflected goal brought them right back in it. Second half was way too open given we only had the one goal lead. Obviously we created several good chances that could have killed it off but at the same time they (Lukaku and Deloufeu) went very close to leveling. All in all though pretty decent three points and great to go top of the league for the time being.

Three for me, and two for them.

Hung tough in the second half to take the three points.

Top of the league.

Get. In.

Gabriel and Coquelin are pure winners. Loving the passion from those two at the moment.

Gabriel after that Lukaku tackle was simply awesome.
Permalink Permalink
over 10 years ago · edited about 5 years ago · History

Yeah the way he reacted after that tackle was immense!

It's the sort of passion that was lacking in the squad and was noticeble when Flamini returned a couple of seasons ago, difference with Gabriel and Coquelin is they have more ability.

Gabriel the new Koscielny
