Wtf did Welbeck get given an award for? Scored a winner against United in the FA Cup but otherwise can barely remember him being fit to play let alone contribute anything. Deadline day panic buy when we'd spent yet another summer not strengthening the team and found ourselves without a fit centre forward the day the window closed. Will neither be missed nor remembered but good to get him off the wage bill. Hopefully we can cull the rest of the leeches in the summer.
(The not-so-temporary quite-official) Gooner Thread (Part 3)
I think that's a bit harsh AJC. We've well and truly missed him this season, especially when you look at contributions by those who covered him (Ozil, Iwobi, Mkhitaryan) but for his injury record that's why he won't get a new contract. The clubs shown some class and sent him on his way gracefully. While we're not doing well on the pitch, we are still showing our class.
watching Liver and City over the weekend and today reminds me how far off the pace we are :(
And without a major cash investment it's hard to see how we could ever compete again. We should also be taking advantage of the weaker Madrids, Barcelonas, Uniteds etc this season but instead we're faffing about with Palace and Brighton at home. To think this morning's result may not be the most or even second most sickening result that could happen this week.
also random question, If we play Chelsea in the final and Chelsea win does that mean we get a champions league place?
You will play Champions League if you win the final.
If you are old and wise you were probably young and stupid
Potentially on the verge of a 'Champions' League final between two clubs who haven't been champions since 1990 and 1961 respectively.
We're all Ajax fans now.
we're all Liverpool fans now?
All rugby fans now? Football is a stupid game, who wants to watch endless 0-0 draws, the players are diving primadonnas, etc, etc.

100%. At least they've had a season worthy of it.
Gutted for Ajax, they were 30 seconds away from a well deserved final, having knocked out arguably some of the best teams in the comp.
So just a casual 4,600km trip for the final.
i think the A league marketing team should get in touch with uefa and tell them about this chance to promote a new long distance derby
It's on at 11pm Azerbaijan time on May 29, which I believe is 7am NZT on May 30... (a Thursday)
I'm getting the day off.
Same here so I can celebrate like mad or drown my sorrows and sulk in peace and not have people rubbing it in.

Think you will find it is 11pm NZ as it is on at 9pm here in Aussie

Also, fudge UEFA for hosting this in bloody Baku and then allocating only 6,000 tickets to Arsenal fans.
The small ticket allocation to fans has been an increasing pattern over the last 10-15 years. Most of the tickets these days go to corporate sponsors.

68,000 capacity stadium and each team only get 6,000 tickets each. Absolutely pathetic from UEFA.
Three for me, and two for them.

Wow that's absolutely ridiculous!

Plus the lack of flights available, 900 GBP minimum in cost for flights, and the 9 hours in travel from UK to Baku.
