Hopefully Inter weren't watching Xhaka this morning. If we can get him out and make a profit it would be an incredible piece of business.

Most of what we hear/read at this time of year is absolute bollocks.

Having said that, if we can get anywhere near 100 million squid for PEA and Xhaka, I'd be stoked... and agree re Ozil... I was gutted with his showing in the final, even how he left the field - it really summed up his last three years. Do. Not. Want.

There is soooo much talk around and no idea if any of it is true. But we're clearly very active, with a lot of balls currently in the air in terms of both incomings and outgoings.

it’s the second season of the window ending before the season begins which means teams will be more likely to do business early. I’m hopeful we’ll start seeing signings and exits happening before we get to July.

We need to sign one of our two strikers. It just has to happen; it sucks, but it's like pulling a band aid.

Looks like some interesting changes to the coaching staff. Seems that Ljungberg will be bought onto the first team coaching staff and steve bould will go to the under 23s. I didnt really remember this but bould had good success in the youth coaching set up prior to his move into the assistant role. Won back to back titles with the u18s, and an fa youth cup, with a talented side at the time, wilshere szczesny etc

released players from today:

  • Cohen Bramall
  • Petr Cech
  • Charlie Gilmour
  • Stephan Lichtsteiner
  • Julio Pleguezuelo
  • Aaron Ramsey
  • Danny Welbeck

Pleguezuelo had big wraps once so I wonder where he will go. As for Gilmour, never heard of him. Bramall was a gamble that never looked like paying off.

Pleguezuelo indeed looked a good option, on a free to FCTwente. Should develop well there especially learning off the likes of Kompany.

Carrasco rumours are back, and only at 22m, assuming we spread that over 4 years that's well within the magical 40m number. Re-watching his highlights package he's definitely the kind of player we're lacking and would really add a lot to the squad.

Kompany is at Anderlecht, no?

Still think we should've kept Welbeck

I know Suarez was a dud but I can imagine we’d get a lot of joy out of Gomes if Barcelona wants to sell him as has been mooted.

we’re 58 days away from the new campaign and haven’t signed or sold anyone. Genuinely concerning when you consider the volume of work required. Emery’s been in. New York for a few days smashing the coaching speaking tour - hopefully he’s been swiping right on a few player approaches.

Real Madrid.

Three for me, and two for them.

United- signed James

Chelsea - sold Hazard, avoided a saga all summer. Under a transfer ban so unlikely doing more.

RM - signed Hazard, Jovic, Mendy, Rodrygo, Militao

On the Kolasinac side someones reminded me that he was signed on a free - I'm definitely not opposed to selling him for 20m plus to fund an upgrade then.

So aside from Chelsea letting Hazard go (which has been happening for several months), nothing of note with any other EPL clubs. Cheers, just checking I hadn't been transported to a parallel universe :)

Ospina goneburgers to Napoli for 4m. If Liverpool were selling him, they'd probably have got 25m

that's good business from Napoli's perspective. Think we should have got at least 10mil for him. or maybe I'm dreaming a bit.

Yea 4m is very low for anyone these days. Liverpool sold Solanke for 19m.

It's all about demand. There wasn't any.

One year left on contract with us, and not even first choice at Napoli.

4m seems fine to me.

I’m not sure it is Paulm. We’ve got 4m for a bloke who is going to ride the pine at Napoli when we could have kept him for a season to ensure Martinez is up for playing back up to Leno. We should really have done better a couple of seasons ago when we loaned him to Napoli.

For some reason or another Wenger, Emery and the two GK coaches we've had in that time have decided he's not good enough for us... I feel 4m is fine. If we could've got more then perhaps Ospina played hardball to go to Napoli... not sure.

Ospina is a madman and I'd rather we just give time to Emi.

Ornstein is reporting we are close with Tierney from Celtic, would be happy with that.

I would have loved Chelsea to sign him if not only for the fact we share the same surname and it would've been cool to see it on a shirt.

I did enjoy it when Tyler Boyd signed for the Phoenix for the same reasons ?

Torriera wants out after one season.
Thatd be a disaster.

Not if we get 70m for him which a player of his contract length and quality should command. He’s been good but not impossible to replace.

Sell him for 70m, strengthen the rest of the team, promote youth.

What an absolute cod Gazidis is. Shouldn't have expected any respect shown I guess.  He left us half dead and now wants to come poke at the corpse. In saying that though, if he makes it 70m with Ozil and Mustafi thrown in, take the money and run before he has the chance to pull out.

He should buy Ozil as penance for the shark he put the club through

Ornstein today suggesting we’ll miss out on Zaha due to £££ (unsurprising) even though Zaha is keen. Also confirmed we’ll likely buy this St Etienne kid who will get loan back for the next year. Tragic really, no money for the guy we need, money for a kid we need in two season ??♂️

We have no CL and no status as a top club anymore. That's the way it's going to be for now.
