That was the game that we needed a fit Giroud available to change the dimension of the play up. Also Elneny & Coquellin are too similar, gotta have Ramsey available when Santi isn't.

Bit rubbish that. Boro looked more threatening than us.

Perez is a waste of time.

Three for me, and two for them.

Way too early to write off Perez. He's barely had any minutes yet and has done fairly well when he's played. Came on a got 2 assists in midweek and today had some nice touches but was a difficult game to take control of with how deep they were sitting.

In positive news, Wilshere got through 90 minutes for the first time since September 2014.

Point earned by Cech rather than 2 dropped.

City and Sp*rs results softened the blow.

Mourinho lol.

Weekendresults scream missed opportunity. Frustrating we didn't capitalise. I expect better from this squad.

Reading, Sunderland, Ludogrets are next 3 games (?) only 3 wins will do.

How does Ozil not get a Ballon D'Or nomination?

Fascinating squad;

      Martinez

Jenko Gabriel Holding Gibbs

     Maitland-Niles Elneny

The Ox    Iwobi      The Jeff

           Perez

So cool to see Jenko back. I'm still unsure of his long term future with us but he's a real fan living a fans dream and you've gotta respect the hell out of that. Also Maitland-Niles, from RW -> RB -> CDM?! Blokes versatile for sure!

Does it really matter? It's just a Messi and Ronaldo popularity contest.

Three for me, and two for them.

Good result this morn. Nice to see Ox get a couple goals. Hope we draw Leeds or Hull in the next round.

Oh, and saw this today which made me laugh:

Couldn't happen to a nicer man.

Three for me, and two for them.

Not the best draw but probably not the worst either.

I wonder if Wenger will run the Young Adults again

I'd go for something like:

                       Ospina

Jenkinson Gabriel Holding  Gibbs

              Elneny       Ramsey

The Ox           Perez          Akpom

                   Giroud

Good blend of non starting 11/youth while still showing SOTON respect.

Friggin Reading lad trod on his ankle, welcome to England son

Current injury situation according to physioroom.com

Plus Xhaka out suspended for one more game.

Giroud now back, Ramsey on the verge, excellent timing. Hopefully Cazorla comes back quickly.

Team for Sunderland?

I wonder if the Ox could get a start on the left, with his form lately, and Iwobi playing 90 mins against Reading. Not sure how I feel about it given the Ox has looked better on the right than the left, but it's a long season, we won't be able to keep the same combination going forever, even if Wenger seems intent on it! Gibbs must be close too... probably go Monreal against Sunderland though, he'll be nice and fresh.

                       Cech

Bellerin-Mustafi-Koscielny-Monreal

             Coquelin-Elneny

       Walcott-Ozil-Chamberlain

                    Sanchez

Bad timing for that post... Wenger giving presser right now, fresh injury updates;

"Arsene Wenger reveals Cazorla, Walcott & Monreal face fitness tests. Ramsey in the squad."

Permalink Permalink

If that's the case then perhaps I'd change it up and let those guys rest;

                     Cech

Bellerin-Mustafi-Koscielny-Gibbs

            Coquelin-Elneny

    Chamberlain-Ozil-Iwobi

                 Sanchez

That Sanchez goal was lovely, great finish but also credit to the Ox for the assist.

Unfudgeing believable. Sanchez penalty not given, Sunderlands given 2 minutes later. Referee is totally off.

What a result after going back to 1-1. Really highlights the depth we have to see the Ox coming in for an on fire Walcott & setting up Sanchez's first, before Giroud comes off the bench to score from a Gibbs cross who had replaced Monreal.

Hopefully the away trip to Ludogrets doesn't impact our match against spuds next weekend - that is a must win derby.

Testament to the squad depth that... what a performance... to get denied that peno, then suffer the blow of the getting one at the other end... i was blown away by our response. Giroud was hungry as f*ck, ramsey meant absolute business when he came on. Gibbs was excellent. Ox was his usual mixed bag, but as usual he also delivered some end product. He'll cock it up sometimes but hes always making things happen. Ozil coulda just about had a hat trick, ends up with none!

Laurent Koscielny has committed just 2 fouls in 810 minutes of Premier League action this season.

Both were on Diego Costa.

Isn't that just one of the greatest stats ever?
