My slightly adjusted preferences, would prefer players in their best spots (bar Walcott the winger).

Yea I'd be happy with all of that too.

Except for maybe Ramsey, I feel he is of such quality that we need to find room for him in our best eleven.

If the Cech deal goes through, then for those crusty old supporters like me, it will remind me of when we signed Pat Jennings from Spurs when they thought he was past it. We got a good 7 or 8 years out of him

Sometimes when trawling the web for footy related jokes, banter, rumours etc one comes across a picture that just makes you stop & reflect on things....God bless this beautiful little Gooner

The Cech deal may feel like it's taking an age but I guess that's just the internet era for you. The window hasn't even actually opened yet. In the past you wouldn't have known anything was going on until the signing was announced.

The window opened several weeks ago.

Three for me, and two for them.

It formally opens on 1 July. You can announce signings now, but they are not officially completed until the window opens.

Everywhere i've read says it opens on June 9. And clubs announced their signings prior to that date (Depay to Man U for example).

Three for me, and two for them.

Ok I wasn't quite right. From Wikipedia (since I can't find the rules on the FA or Premier League websites):

Although, in England, the transfer window formally opens on 1 July, transfers between clubs in the same association can take place as soon as the last competitive fixtures for the season have been played. However, many transfers will not be completed until 1 July because many players' contracts expire on 30 June. International transfers cannot be made until the window has opened on 1 July.

Thought it might have been a reason for the Cech deal not being done yet but guess not. Depay will not be a United player until 1 July though.

Waiting until the proper official date and being all classy about it would be the arsenal thing to do i guess.

I'm really hoping we give cech a cooler headgear to wear

make him some arsenal-specific puma one or something, it would be awesome

Fudge I hope so, don't care who leaves as both Ospina and Scezney would be good number 2

Yeah Arshavin was a waste of talent. Dragged us to 4th pretty much on his own in his first half season, and I thought he was going to the best player in the league post Ronaldo. Was my favourite player at one stage and I even won a copy of the official Arsenal magazine signed by him. On my first visit to the Emirates (Emirates Cup 2009) he scored 2 goals in the last 5 minutes to win the game against Atletico Madrid.

Don't think the the club nor Wenger can be blamed for him being a lazy headcase.

Hleb was too one dimensional for me as well.

Three for me, and two for them.

Hleb's problem was he left for Barca when he was hitting his stride. Who knows what might've been had he stayed.

Certainly would of got more game time.

Hleb played well in the CL in the run to the final but was mostly a waste of a position otherwise. Was completely unsuited to the English game and his position. You can't have an attacking midfielder who offers neither goals nor assists. I'd never heard of the "pre-assist" before him, nor have I heard mention of it since. Made a bit of a name for "the pass before the pass" but found his level as a Birmingham reserve IMO.

Vidal talk again.

I'm in favor.

Where does Vidal fit in? I mean you have Ramsey, Wilshere, Ozil, Cazorla all looking to play central in either a box to box of creative role, and Coq sitting deep. Can Vidal be a CDM? Or is this possibly cover in case we lose Cazorla or Wilshere?

Only makes sense if wenger considers him a defensive midfielder

He has the aggression and engine

If Coquelin gets injured/suspended then we need someone stronger than Arteta to be available.

Let Diaby and Flamini go

I randomly stumbled across a tweet this morning that was in the last 24 hours of a photo of Reus in a plane saying the flight was to London, and quoting Reus as saying he had a meeting with AFC.

Now that would be a signing I'd love to see, imagine him & Sanchez wide of Giroud/Walcott.

Well Vidal himself has come out and said he is very happy at Juve and isn't looking to move. Basically exactly the same as what happened last summer when United pursued him for ages and all the United fans got all giddy.

Probably a 5% chance of the transfer actually taking place.

Three for me, and two for them.

I don't think he's the type of player we really need more of anyway. He's more a box-to-box like Rambo etc, rather than someone who can slot in for the Coq.

Still thinking we need a Big Willy to compete with out Coq.

How old is Leggy?  Is he 12 or 72?

Just saw the announcement on the train and punched the air and let out a little celebration. As I've said before, this is my dream signing. I can't believe it. I've never bought a shirt with a name on the back before, and I don't think I've ever bought the goalkeeper shirt either even as a keeper myself. Fudgeing tempted to get a goalkeeper shirt with Cech now. He could give us 4 or 5 top seasons like Van der Sar did for United.

To get him from Mourinho too. All that experience and those titles coming into the dressing room. As well as his own performances, the leadership and influence he will bring could be massive. This feels like a game changing signing. For Wenger to spend that much on a 33 year old in a position we're quite well stocked. To move ahead of someone he has developed for years and someone he only signed a year ago feels like that ruthlessness we haven't seen often enough.

We do need to make some other big signings though. This is fantastic but can't be the only "marquee" signing of the summer.

This guy is great. He has tweeted each Arsenal player who has welcomed him individually and in their own native languages.

Eyes got a bit watery going through that. This is real!
