Not on the life, got one thanks. As for Welbeck against Chelsea, noone was any good, but that discussion was done after the game and was irrelevant to what I posted.

How could anyone with half a brain think that Danny W. was still a Utd player? Do you think RVP, Cesc,Henry and Viera are still Arsenal players? Stop being so childish.

Viera has obviously seen that City are the club to be with.

I was just having a joke mate, no harm meant. After the last England game I made a similar post about the Arsenal players and you commented that it was a bit of a stretch because Welbeck hadn't played for Arsenal yet so I was just having a laugh. Of course I don't think anyone would think that.

And further to my initial post, that was the first time for 78 years that 5 Arsenal players have been on the pitch at the same time for England. 1936 against Austria was the last time and in fact there were 6 Arsenal players that day including the likes of Bastin and Hapgood. The days of the 2-3-5 formation!

Some concerning reports emerging from the Chile-Peru game. Seems the Peruvians have taken to kicking Sanchez at any given opportunity. Peru have already had a man sent off and Chile are 2-0 up at HT so hopefully the manager takes him off.

Here's a potato quality still of Sanchez on the floor after one of the heavy challenges.

After years of maligning from the media about Arsenal not blooding any English players it could now be argued that about half the England first team could be Arsenal players. Funny how we don't hear anything from the media now.

When all is said and done, Arsenal shouldn't take any credit. The Southampton academy can take most of it.

In the case of Chambers at the moment and Ox to some extent, but I think it's fair to say Walcott has been developed quite a lot since leaving Southampton 8 years ago. Regardless, they are Arsenal players now and that's all that really matters. If you're taking that view, it's also fair to say that other clubs can take most of the credit for Liverpool's (the other club making up a large number of the current England squads) England players too.

Great result for Scz this morning.

There's the CB we needed:

And in other news Wenger is saying Poldi is still in his plans, can't tell if serious or playing the market.

Finally, Jack was the start this morning, good to hear he's coming back to form.

Consecutive MOM performances for Wilshere from the last 2 England games. Some of those long range passes were a joy to behold. Could easily have had 4 or 5 assists over the 2 games but for poor finishing from Rooney.

Really good news about Wilshere, glad for him. Interesting comments from him being given videos of Alonso and Pirlo to study from the English technical team.

Fantastic role models for him, if he can emulate them he'll be a legend for the Arsenal.

There was a story the other day that Bayern wanted him in the summer. Presumably it's the Daily Mail putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5. Not sure where Bayern would have room for him anyway and turning down Fabregas wouldn't make much sense if we get rid of Ozil in January.

Can't we all just get along?

Anyway, thanks for the laugh. If you're 72, you might not have seen it, but if you're 12 you might be too young. But your post reminded me of this:

It just doesn't make sense selling him unless we had plans to pick up a boss DMF & get Rambo/Cazorla/Wilshere to step up. Which I don't think is a good idea. The injury is terrible terrible timing.

And Nacho is back too.

Boss reckons my boy Olivier is ahead of schedule as well.

Excite.

Surely this sort of crap can be moderated out?

I can't tell if this is the 'humour' of a 12 year old or not? It is not what I'd expect of a senior though.

Ozil's response to the rumours for what it's worth:

thanks for your support following my injury. I'll come back on the pitch soon as I can to help #AFC. now and in the future #MiaSanArsenal

With Ozil out I'm intrigued to see who we'll be staring on Saturday but I'm guessing we may see:

                          Szy

Chambers, Kosc, Mertesacker, Gibbs

               Arteta, Wilshere

    Sanchez, Cazorla, Podolski

                   Welbeck

Ramsey, Theo, Gnabry, Monreal must be close to squad selection too.

While I'm also surprised at how quiet things are for Koscielny...

Edit: sorted formatting out, sorry gents

Wonder if Theo will make the bench or this might be a bit too soon. Glad to get through an international break with no further injuries. Reckon Rosicky might start this week.

Bellerin will be in as Chambers is suspended I think. Would fancy Ox coming in for Ozil.

Read Walcott might make the bench, super glad to hear he's back. Has he played any reserve games?

Spoke a bit too soon, only just seen Rosicky got injured. And yeah Chambers will miss this one after the yellow card last week. Walcott hasn't played yet, only just back to training this week.

Permalink Permalink

Surely any first team play is a couple of weeks away then, would hope to see him have a run with the reserves. Maybe an appearance on the bench for morale!

Think we'll see

Szczesny, Bellerin, Koscielny, Mertesacker, Gibbs, Arteta, Wilshere, Cazorla, Ox, Alexis, Welbeck.

Probably good that Chambers gets a forced break, really - has played a hell of a lot for a youngster.
