Great to see the Clarets on the box this morning.  Also saw a glimpse of 'arry and QPR (and Barton! - WTF?).

Thank you Sommet Sports.  Really looking forward to it all this year. It's a great league. Bring it on.

I know, I know, its serious!

How much did you guys get for Charlie Austin? Who are you tipping to go up?

Not sure regarding Charlie Austin.  Reports are from GBP2.5m to GBP4m+ - probably around the middle with some kind of cash up-front + appearances deal, which makes sense gven CA's apparent dodgy knee (failing Hull's medical).

Going up?  Wigan (wigan getting Coyle up, rather than other way around!) & Reading bouncing back up were my two auto picks.  QPR have the potential to self-destruct. Watford to make it through the playoffs from Leeds, Bolton & Forest.

Other way, Barnsley (that was before last night's result), Yoevil and Blackxxxx ..........

Championship games live this weekend on Sommet:

Birmingham v Yoevil (yes they are in 2nd tier now!), 2am Sunday morning

Leicester v Leeds, 3:30 Monday Morning.  Good chance that a certain Mr Chris Wood will be in action.

Also has Chairty Shield on live plus a truck load of Bundesliga.

I have invested in a freeview box with hard drive (like mySky but with heaps more space).  It's going to get a hammering!

Thinking about the freeview box for the recording. expensive when you can already get freeview though.

Really looking forward to the Leicester V Leeds game. May try to stay up for it.

Are they going to show a Championship game every weekend? We've got Leeds coming up. I bought a twin digital head Bluray player 3 years ago and now the digital freeview part is earning it's money. Got the QPR V Wednesday game stored on the 500 gig HDD. This Sommet has been a real life saver for me. Can cancel Sky Sports now, even if I miss the A League games. They're the only thing I'd be paying for.

I believe the plan is to show up to two games live each weekend.  Truckloads of Bundesliga..hope Rojas gets fit soon.

They even had Carling Cup highlightd today.

Thought I read that there was to be a Championship highlight package on Sky similar to last year.

Anyone know when.

Has anyone else discovered this awesome website that streams all of Sky Sports UK's numerous channels (and some other good UK channels)  for free? It's the answer to a Kiwi football fan's dreams!!! Streams all the channels direct from the UK! Just fantastic!!!

Unfortunately, I will be on a plane and miss it.

We're top of the League, we're top of the League, We're Queens Park Rangers, We're top of the League.

That'll probably be as good as gets for us this season. Our regular sick notes - Zamora & Johnson are once again out with long term injuries. Poor Charlie Austin is leading the line alone.

Very true. Brings back to mind a young Dave Thomas and a young Leighton James. Peter Noble was your captain I believe?

Martin Dobson was captain (Noble joined from Swindon for the 73/74 season in the top flight).  Dave Thomas switched from Burnley to QPR near the start of the 72/73 season ... this season, we sold you Charlie Austin.  Parallels, parallels!

By the way, this was the season before I starting supporting Burnley as a spotty teen in August 73.

Frank Casper scored your winner in 1975 against the Hoops on Saturday the 18th October 1975. That victory coming after we nailed Everton 5-0. We won at Loftus Road on Saturday 22nd November 1-0. I started following them in August 1975. I saw the 1-1 against Aston Villa on the 19th a week later on (27th August) TV here and thought they wore cool kits and played really well. 38 years ago - where has it gone? I could have gone for Villa but the hoops won.

Thanks for the points. In our local prediction league I chose a 1-0  home win. Still best of luck for the rest of your season. We need the promotion to clear the decks of our debt. Now that most of the freeloaders have gone, we still have to pay some of the bills though.

1-0 has been a common outcome..as has us losing so a safe bet really. We dont seem to have gelled yet as team....too many injuries and players out of position.  Sounds familiar.  I hope u grab one of the spots...tough league to get out of.

At QPR we are all completely surprised by our start for sure. The so called "form teams" expected to do well are the ones struggling....Bolton for example. I see Derby have sacked Clough.

Big game this weekend when QPR visit Burnley. So much history, Dave Thomas, Leighton James - both players played for both clubs. Hopefully both teams get promoted.
