I look forward to you cracking up when he puts in a reducer on your beloved Suarez.

Three for me, and two for them.

Barton is a whimp only picks on girls.
Didn't see him get involved with Roy Keene etal, the hard mans footballer.
J Barton just keeping up the family tradition.

Barton is a big fat woosey blouse.... And should have been given a Bafta (and a red) for his acting!
And whats with the hair cut!!!!!!!!

That's Roy "sh*t Scared of Shearer" Keane you're talking about?  No, I can't say that Keane was ever brave enough to butt heads with Joey.  Barton did, however, have a notable dressing room bust-up with Shearer, so by the Transitive Law of Hardness he was quite prepared to scrap with wee Roy.

Next?

Let's find a shred of objectivity, shall we?  If you can't get it internally, try the Guardian "Barton was given a yellow card, which was possibly slightly harsh, and Alex Song went unpunished after an earlier stamp on Barton, which was caught by the cameras. The Newcastle player was far more sinned against than sinning here".

Alright, that might be asking a bit much for those who are partisans of other teams.  Obviously Lee Cattermole would tear a strip off Barton in the lead-up to the derby.  Check it out:  "I find it frustrating with Joey Barton how he's not in the England squad".

OUCH!   That's sure telling him, Lee!

Point scored on the hair cut, mind you.

In addition, some red-stripe team lost to Newcastle.  The haters expected a return of 0 points from the first two games.  I recommend buying stocks in Crystal Ball futures, because a lot of people need to get theirs replaced.

Ameobi for #9.

(Just wanted to write that before anyone else does.)

Helped save Pardew's aspirations of being a cup team.  Might have been different if it was Stevenage we were playing and not Sc*nthorpe.

Lets hope Barton does not leave for QPR.

Match day!  Fulham have had Newcastle's number of late, but what will they make of la mthode Pardew?

Bits and pieces: some more on Ameobi the youngest (middle brother Tomi is playing in Iceland, of all places) and Harris Vuckic. Striker latest And HBA, if you're wondering, is out until October.

Finally, some music for disgruntled Toon fans on New Zealand time.

October. Jesus wept!

Thanks for the music link - maybe another song on the suggestion list would have been better - Nervous Breakdown.

Allez Les Toon!

If it helps, the date given is the 1st of October.

Nervous Breakdown would be good, but then we'd get into an argument with Arsenal fans about stealing their bit.  And I don't really hate those guys - for once, let us all be united by the common human emotions of rage, bitterness and anguish!

Oh.

Lovenkrands and Best are starting up front.

Nervous Breakdown it is.
over 14 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
Hmm.  Half-right - McLoven was rubbish, and Arsenal did have a Nervous Breakdown.

While results elsewhere cast a long shadow, 2-1 over Fulham is a good result.  I am feeling quietly optimistic.

Bro-down with Broey Bar-toon coming up.  (Yeah, I know that's not funny, it's a lead-in.)

Previews: Guardian and .co.uk.  (Combining the two should tell you more than you need to know.)

Good result against Barton's bunch.

Unbeaten this season and in 4th spot.  Champions League here we come (and of course a couple of cups which is the real focus).

Match previews for AV:  Guardian (note the HBA return date of 24/9, and despair at the expected 4-4-2) and Toonsy.

There's a rumour that the club will move for Rickie Lambert in summer.  I googled, here's the links: wiki, saints, and, youtube.  Can't judge quality from this, but I read him as a specialist finisher.  Bit old for a Newcastle signing, doubt it'll happen.

Thanks for the link. there was a related article with a photo of the partially erected signage at SJP "rect.com Newcastle United.

Very apt.

Also note that Hughton, now at Brum City, also has to contend with ownership worries as Carson Yeung's assets have been frozen. Really feel for the man.

Had a late night last night and decided to tune in to the game when I got home.  Best sensed this and equalised.  From what I saw (and other match reviews agree) Villa were very, very lucky to get a point.  Given was in great form - and there was a horrible, late decision from the assistant referee to deny Sameobi when he bet our ex-.

Nice way to start the day - reading the match reports for the various matches played last night.

Still in 4th and undefeated.

Also funny to see Joey B on his twatter again and winding up the wolves fans.

And in another match there was an own-goal fest...

'Own-goal fest'?  I didn't know that amateur games got written match reports.

However, as regards the professionals: yes, still 4th, still unbeaten.  And a very good performance - this one didn't look lucky.

Maybe on a loan with an option to buy.  The player seems to be injury-prone and struggling for fitness - best to size him up before splashing the cash.

McLoven has now scored his second against Nottingham.

Unbelievable.  If somebody told me that it was a sustained typo, and that the goals were actually coming from Elliot, that would seem like a return to sanity.

edit:  Ah, and for goal 3 - Simpson's intended cross goes into the net.  Finally something normal!

edit2:  And the winner from the captain.  Thanks, Colo.

Sounds like a great contest (against the mighty Forest) and the two Ameobis making an appearance.

How did HBA hold up for 70 mins?  Hopefully will be starting for Wolves...

I didn't watch the Forest game, just followed commentary.  Apparently, Hatem looked himself, though his fitness must be questioned after such a long lay-off.  He's meant to make the bench for Blackburn.

nufcblog.co.uk continues to improve their previews.  Unless you're desperate for the latest on Morten Gamst Pedersen, there's really no need to go anywhere else.  Also, pay careful attention to the Leon Best statistics: most accurate striker in the Premier League, one goal every 110 minutes, soon to surpass Andy Carroll's goal-scoring run in fewer games - this must be the man who was brought in to be our new number 9!

Due to daylight savings, I needed every available hour for sleep last night.  But the lads came through anyway.   Glancing at the stats on soccernet's terribly-written report, it was a game marked by inaccuracy - the four goals came from five shots on target, with another eighteen being fired in the vague direction of the net.  Best's association with the #9 shirt seems to have put the mockers on him.  (Thankfully, Ba fired up his own campaign for that number today.)

Owning that 4th spot!

I guess that means Pardew's days at SJP are numbered and we'll need to get a coach who can take us higher (already beaten the Mackems so the signs aren't good).
