Well that was an absolute downer. This was the game where I thought we'd get some points out of for sure.
Hats off to the Football Ferns though, you can't say they didn't try. They threw everything at it but were unlucky in the end.

Well that’s sucks. Philippines are no mugs. They are limited but well organiséd especially on defense. So now there are three teams on three points. Ferns now 100% have to beat the Swiss. Disappointed by some aspects of the Ferns tonight. The defense was very poor, they defended badly for the goal. The distribution from the back was often poor, Stott hit at least five bad passes in the first half hour. But we lost because we just could not put the ball in the net…..something that has dogged this team for ages.

We want a Norway Switzerland draw, that means a win over Switzerland in the last game wins us the group, provided Norway don't then lose to the Phillipines by 2 goals.
Ferns played really well in the second half, were so unlucky. They didn't choke, they look like they're capable of scoring and I think a win vs Switzerland is very much possible. Just not their night tonight.
