This. Why would anyone pay twice the price on steam when this gives you a steam code anyway. Got mine for $US25 on sale. It's US$40 now

I've managed to clock up 650 hours on FM12 and am really enjoying my save game, so I have a question for you all. Is it worth paying $40 to get FM13 or would I be better to keep playing 12 and buy 14 when it comes out next year?

I usually go with every 2 years personally. Lets you go deeper into a game, and saves you cash. The changes are never worth it year to year, but every 2 years is ok.

I haven't played FM13 mind you. You could try the demo and go from there?

If you complete a challenge does the game finish or can you keep playing?

Anyone else not enjoying FM13 that much compared to last years version? I can't seem to enjoy any saves so far...

I am having a great time, took phoenix to the double in the second season and have jst joined wigan who had back to back relegations.... Huge battle sorting out the wage bill atm... i always seem to forget to do the training...
Im finding the games themselves to be alot better, seems to work better on my pc, quicker loading etc...

Overall i think it is alot better

Has anyone got the NZ league for FM13?, itching to play there and do a journeyman save

Some bugs in the A-League unfortunately. You can't sign a marquee if its ging to put you over the cap unless it's in a squad registration window. And since thats so late in the A-league it makes it pretty hard.

Lucky I got sacked by the nix then huh.. Currently managing Alfreton in Blue Square north

Bought the game for about $55 via FM Scout. Love it so far, haven't found any glitches (haven't played a-league yet)
3D Match engine is great, massive improvement. Enjoy it much more than FM 12

I've purchased every CM/FM since CM1.  This latest version, especially when playing in arcade mode for this is much more fun that previous couple of versions I've (not enjoyed) played.

Not sure about you lot, but I'm married, kids and job so spending so much time playing the older versions and not getting so far as there was so much to do is now a thing of the past.  And the Arcade modes interface is pretty sweet to boot.  There are a couple of things, like being unable to have players trained to pick up things like "he likes to take the ball around the GK...." etc that would be cool to have added, I like the basics of the entire game just not with so much complexity.

Not tried out WP FC yet, they will be next on my list...

Has anyone tried this on Android yet? I'd be interested to get thoughts on it. It seems a very stripped down version of it.

I have it on my S3, is very stripped down (No team talks, press conferences etc), Training is just I think 6 options, Tactics are cut down (Have all positions, roles, and then about 6 team instructions), and you can only load one nation (Due to having to support older Android phones, Marc is looking at making 2 Android versions in future).

I really enjoy it though, have played through three seasons in the A-League, and also a few more seasons in other leagues, it is quick and also still a lot of the fun from the full game is there. If there is anything you want to know then ask away and I'll try answering.

Help - I just read the Trophy Manager book (not sure if any others have), great quick read, now I'm keen to play - what's the best/cheapest way to do it?

From what I gather you can either illegally download and put on a disk (not preferrable but better than paying 80 bucks....) or get it cheap from the place talked about above - anyone here who can help?

Steam is the best way to get it, just wait for it to go on special. $30 is a good price.

$40 (I assume US) right now on Greenmangaming, they will just send you a code and then you download from Steam, but normally in late Jan/Early Feb Steam has it on sale for $30ish :)

What is this whole Steam thing anyway? Is it possible to play FM off-line? Or just really complicated?

Permalink Permalink

Steam is just the store you buy it from, it makes the install process a lot easier as it just does it all automatically when you buy it. Means you don't have to worry about product keys etc.

Gotcha, so you would recommend buying it from there rather than getting the disk?

Absolutely. Cheaper as well.

Don't you need to be online to start the game up though? Bit annoying.

For the first install, and first game start-up (But same if you use the disk), and then just put Steam in offline mode and continue (When the Steam updates come through you mya have to reconnect and load their updates and then go back offline again)

I leave it online, and take my laptop away from home, but just make sure you open FM13 before you leave home or put it in offline before you leave an internet connection.

Bit frustrated at the moment. Everytime I crank up FM13 my laptop just shuts down. Had a good save game going with the nix as well.

Got the game on my ipod, fired as Nix manager after about 15 games, Adelaide are the only team that want me so I go there, have won three straight titles, Van Dijk has 83 goals, Djite 67, and I picked up a guy for $8,000 who has 12 goals and 21 assists in 17 games. Not bad!

Finished a season of FM13, managing against all odds, with a zero transfer budget and $30k spare for wages, to get West Ham finishing 5th.

However, I was a victim of my own success, as contract renewals had players like Carlton Cole and Mark Noble wanting triple their wages for the coming season. Carlton No Goal Cole wanted $95k a week!

Have $12mil for transfers and maybe $80k a week to pay for wages after clearing some deadwood, but it's unlikely I'll resign some of the must-have players - wage demands are unrealistic.

This game is so unrealistic, I mean, DMac scoring???? Yeah right.

That's because the handheld version is utter shit.

There's no release date yet. On the plus side for me though it's been announced that it'll be available for Linux via Steam. No more running a virtual machine without 3d graphics :-)

Expect the release date to be late October/early November  - NZ stores won't have stock til 1-2 weeks late (SI have previously said it is the NZ distributor holding it up), but can buy online immediately.

09 - 14 Nov

10 - 30 Oct

11 - 05 Nov

12 - 21 Oct

13 - 02 Nov

I am currently into a game within the lower leagues of South American Leagues, gets a bit confusing over there with some of the different rules over there, but having a heap of fun.
