Believe if you set it to finalise by other staff in the staff responsibility they should get auto signed, problem is that means they always get finalised even if you don't want them,

i had a major crash - had to totally reboot - trying to get back in now.

Yeah, I suggest that everyone looks at their settings on what the Assistant should and shouldn't do for them, because he will be in charge if you are ever not able to join the game on any given night.

Got the hand held version to learn this player/squad management. My YFM Charlton squad most are listed as abysmal. Lots to do pre-season - oh how that sounds familiar! 

If it runs like a dog (a very old, slow, lazy, blind dog) on my PC will it do this online thing or am I better pulling the pin now?

Look at PC specs against fm14 spec - you may just need to turn off some background programs?
