If you agree with something that someone has said, and have something of interest to add to it, type that out.  People just liking posts creates some kind of pointless populatity contest that will end up with Feverish sulking in his room for 2 weeks.

Yeah, not a fan of it either. It will hurt my delicate feelings and lead to insecurities I don't think I can handle.

Also, while I am on the subject it will somehow validate some opinions just because there are enough idiots who agree with it.  Look at the ongoing discussions about needing to get rid of Ricki or Terry - they will end up as petty arguments where people's inane statements (I'm looking at you Doloras) while somehow be given credence because enough people held onto the stupid idea that any kind of change was going to be a disaster.

In that case do we want an 'I disagree with your opinion but that was a well reasoned argument so I salute you, good sir' button?

Not a fan of liking etc but possibly the ability for a thread starter being able to select someones post as the answer like geekzone.co.nz does it. Then have a button that allows you to 'View Answer' that way if someone asks a question and someone answers it you don't have to trawl through pages and pages of drivel to find it.

I am in agreement with Frankie Mac. I'm not in favour of a +1 -1. I prefer the debate or people to just come out and say if an idea is good or shit. It's a forum for voices on football. If we are doing this up vote thing, we basically turn into a YouTube/Facebook/reddit. I do have strong ideas but if someone else makes a reasoned argument, I am open to changing my opinion or having it shaped for the better. +1 -1 does not achieve that.

I think you would see more threads with just 1 post and heaps of +1 -1 as opposed to any comments.

I'd also like to add that the trello board is not a good idea. People know to come here regarding the forum. Creating another location just means you have to split your time across two locations and its not a given that people will look there.

Can one of you bright young things tell me what a trello board is?

I know what a wobble board is but these days that sort of thing is a bit frowned upon.

The only thing I see it stopping is people saying "this" or "+1" Or maybe even some mindless slagging off of others that some of us are prone to, as you'd just click thumbs down and move on instead. If people have something meaningful to say, they'll still say it. 

And yeah with the trello board, its a nice idea in theory, but you can already tell that its not being read by all. 

Just want to put it out there that a +1 -1 should be way down on the priority list. Plenty of other things to fix first (Quote, deleting posts, the new page thing, copying and pasting tables)

Probably been posted by many, but just delete them bloody spam threads gets to be pain when there are so bloody many.Cant recall any other forum i visit which has the same problem.
